I have only been watching your channel for a few weeks, but this is easily one of my top YT channels ever. I'm the same age as you and I feel like I am listening to a friend when I watch your videos. Love love the long vlogs as well as shorter TBRs and friend vlogs! I can tell you are just a strong and kind-hearted book girlie ❤ I wish you all the good things!!
Thank you so much!! Such a sweet message 🥹🥹
thank you so much for showing up. you authentically show up for us three times a week in the midst of grieving and working and being you. so thank you. your videos add so much to my week.
I agree! It's INCREDIBLE!
I love a mixture of both….but of course I’ll watch no matter what you do. I think you’ll love Omar Tyree “Fly Girl”. He’s coming out with a new release soon titled “Control”. I have Brittany Cherry’s new release, too because you speak highly of her books. Happy reading in April.
Omg I didn’t realize he was coming out with a new book! Love that!
Thank you for recommending Their Vicious Games!! Just finished and loved it so much! I couldnt put it down. You have some great books for April. Cant wait to hear your thoughts. Have a great vacation!
Omg yay! So glad you loved it!
It’s crazy to me that April is only eight days away. I do love how you separate the books into genres and how truly diverse your reading is. Count me in the category of people who love “First Lie Wins,” it was a five star read for me. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts. Thank you for another great video.
This month has been going by so fast!
Awesome recs!! ❤ if you want to read a romance in NYC then you have to read Ready or Not by Cara Bastone. It has an unexpected pregnancy trope but it is played beautifully! And the character Shep is such a cinnamon roll!! 🥰🤤
Yessssssss! Fully agree ❤
Thank you! Will do!
I’m a fan of all your types of videos, but I LOVE the long vlogs. Especially on Sundays because im cleaning/preparing for the week and your videos just help me get through my chores lol
I think the long vlogs are my favorite too!
One Tree Hill vibes in a book- count me innnn 🤩🤩
You’ll love it!!
D'Vaughn and Kris Plan a Wedding is one of my favourites. It is so sweet and I loved how the fake dating was done! Can't wait for your thoughts. I know the author has a new book coming out this year!
Omg yay! So glad I picked a good book!
I absolutely love your content, and as a fellow mood reader, I never stick to my tbr. I now do, hopefulls.
The comeback is absolutely a great read I hope you will enjoy it
So excited to read it!
How crazy is it that I had many of those 90s books. I had Fly Girl, I had ALL the Terry McMillan, E. Lynn Harris, etc. I was in my teens going into my early 20s, I 🫶🏾 you are revisiting some of those authors. Imagine how excited you were at the black owned bookstore, well it’s exciting for me now in my 50s to see how many black authors out there now. Oh, Alex ,Ishtar like Zane books. 😉☺️🤭☺️
I love the long vlogs that you do. They are very entertaining and calming to me. Great video and recommendations of books. I keep on adding to my TBR as well. Thank you for sharing what's on your TBR for April. I am currently reading First Lie Wins, Scarred, Because of Miss Bridgerton, and Phoenix Unbound.
The long vlogs are my fav too! 🫶🏽🫶🏽
I just love your content!
Thank you so much!
Thank you for posting this! I’ve been super tired from finishing finals and a little bummed that my Chicanx history class is over, but your videos always make me smile and feel better
Girrrl if you reading flyygirl, you need to read sister souljah series!!!!! Coldest winter ever is on my TBR but my friend HAS ME HOOKED ON THE STORYLINE!
Only the first book is worth reading in The Coldest Winter Ever series. It’s also one of those books best read as a teen and it grows with you. Some people hated it because they didn’t read it as a teen like I did.
I’ve heard this one is so good!
I read the coldest winter last month and lord that book was a 5 star book. In middle school everyone was reading it and idk how it wasn’t banned.
I really enjoyed One Last Job. I liked the first book in the series as well. Lipstick & Camera Clicks was so good. I finished that this month and loved it.
Yay! So glad!
I love the short videos because I have subscribed to so many Booktube channels and I am nosey and want to see what everyone read for the month and are planning to read for the next month. I also do a lot of reading myself so I don't have much time to watch the long videos.
Yaaaaay!!!! I’m so happy to see Keeping 13 and The friend zone on your tbr! I loved both of those books! 💫💫💫💫💫
I read Lipstick and Camera Clicks (off another rec video you did) and I LOVED it. I was in a reading slump and it got me fully out of it.
Yay! I’m so glad you loved it! I’m so excited to pick it up!
You’re gonna loveeee Love Redesigned! I read it last week and it was so good! It was my first Lauren Asher book and you are so right about her writing; it’s so easy to breeze through! 🤗
Just finished it this week too and just gobbled it up in a few days 🥰
@@trayvixk4642 I couldn’t put it down!!
I hope so too!
Just found your channel. Love your view on reading books that are different. I’ve been trying to work on that. Thank you for your TBR. I added a lot of books. Can’t wait to read Luca.
You are so welcome!
Loved this video. I love and really enjoy the long videos, so I can’t wait till Tuesday 😊
Long videos are my fav too!
Ooh yes, you got Colliding With Fate!! I really hope you love it. It’s got a deeper story than the first book. And Kyrell is SO book boyfriend material! Also, have you read Jane Igharo? I loved her first book, Ties That Tether (5⭐️) and her second book, The Sweetest Remedy was 4⭐️. Both are not very smutty, somewhat closed door.
I'm so excited for you to read demons dream bc I have my eye on it!!
I'm going to recommend a few books to you again bc.... I'd love a historical fiction vlog. 😁 Last House on the street OR big lies in a Small Town. The Dream Daughter. All of them are by Diane Chamberlain... Or just pick one 😁 they are all good. Also, the things we cannot say by Kelly rimmer. Omg. Also.... A very fast paced thriller. Dark matter. A little bit of sci fi (which I don't usually love). ❤️ Thinking of you guys and Bane... Hope you're doing well.
Thanks so much for recommending these!
Thank you so much for your videos I really enjoyed it and wanted to read them
Love your videos and the long formats too💞
Yay so glad!
I think you’d enjoy All My Rage if you haven’t read that one yet. Looks like you have a good selection ahead of you for next month. Happy reading!
I’ve heard it’s so good!
Grey Huffington. I think I’m going to take a break after the book I’m reading now. Lawe. I like all of them for different reasons, but I think Ledge and Lawe are my faves. Hopefully, I’ll read Demon’s Dream (?) in April also….
👋🏾 Shawnaci! Have you ever thought about doing author interviews on your channel? I would love to hear from Brittainy Cherry, Danielle Allen and Grey Huffington, or even lesser known authors, about their process of writing books.🙏🏾
Omg I love this idea!
Hey Shawnaci, love the long vids. Also love the TBR vids😊
Glad you like them!
Hi Shawnaci ✨
My Favorite Indie Author that I have been LOVING is Caitlin Moss she is a local author out of Seattle and writes Romotional ( romantic+ emotional)
My personal favorite is “A world with out you” and her recent novella “ Familiar Stranger”
I think you would enjoy her also ☺️
Absolutely love your channel, you bring me so much joy! 🖤
Thanks so much for recommending these!
I love a mix of videos but I do look forward to your vlogs❤
Vlogs are my fav too!
I have picked up Love Redesigned so many times and haven’t been able to get into it. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve picked it up so I need to try again. Absolutely loved “The Air He Breathes” from Brittainy C Cherry. She has become one of my favorite authors
PWMOV by EmHen was the first one I ever read by her and it was my favorite until I read Beach Read and Happy Place lol. Alex+Poppy will forever have my heart though. I love them to bits!! very protective of them lol xo
I’m so excited to read it!
Thanks for introducing to me, Fatima Bala.
Books in the Rick Riordan Presents imprint have wonderful middle grade series books. The one that I finished is the Pandava/Aru Shah series by Roshani Chokshi and I can't stop recommending the series.
Front Desk by Kelly Yang (which is also a part of a series and I have only read Book 1) is also a fantastic underrated middle grade book for me.
Thanks for recommending!
Thank you for the recs!! Gonna grab a few for my TBR 😊
Yay!
I loved Ace of Spades
In order to read more thriller by different authors, you could do the A to Z authors of that genre. It’s a challenge of reading a book by a author that fix’s the letter. For example Freida Mc Fadden would be the M on your list.
I’m sending you love and a great year❤❤
I hope your loved ones and doggo are safe and well❤
Love Redesigned is a good book. I loved it. It was the first book of Lauren Asher’s I have read
First Lie wins is so good!!
Yay I’m so glad!
My April TBR also includes Where Sleeping Girls Lie and First lie wins😄
Can’t wait for you to read and hopefully review Demon’s dream! 🤭
You should read big chicas don't cry 😊
OMG Flyy Girl is taking me back lol. I feel like I was probably too young to read that when it was getting circulated around school lol. So many books were being circulated around middle and high school but this and the Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Soujah were talked about so much lol. I ate these books up back then. Those Zane books were talked about just as much but I didn’t read them cuz the spice level was too much for me lol. Imma have to read Flyy Girl again soon just to see if it’s as good as I remember.
i’ve also read all of emily henry’s books except for people we meet on vacation! i’m hoping to get to it next month too!
OMGGG YOU PICKED UP BROKEN, Not A Halal Love Story ❤❤❤❤❤
How can April just be around the corner?! We can't wait to hear what you think of all the 20 books you will finish this upcoming month.
People we meet on vacation was my fave but I read it first. I really think that seems to make a difference for me. Like the first book in a series or my first by an author, tends to stick with me. 🤷🏼♀️
I can’t wait to read it!
Have you read “flowers for algernon” ? It’s a classic, very good and has an unlikely romance side plot but fits more into the literary fiction genre
I haven’t yet! Thanks for recommending!
A mix of long and short!
Good Lord. I'm still trying to get through "The Grace of Kings". Great book so far. About half way through. But it's getting me so far behind my goal.
I finished Happy place yesterday, I didn’t really like it but I loved book lovers.
Here's my tbr for April
Her too by bonnie kistler
Howling dark by Christopher ruoccichio
One summer in Savannah
Miss memory lane by colten Haynes memoir
Dear medusa
Such a great tbr!
Yes I love your break down for sure. I am so happy you reading Fly Girl what an awesome read. Check out “Cheaters” from Eric Jerome Dickey I ate it up in junior high and that was a while ago lol 😂shhh 🤫
I’m reading more in my iPad with the kindle app it’s better for me. Even though mostly the books I really want to read aren’t kindle unlimited
I just finished: first lie wins yesterday, I am curious what are your thoughts about it. It was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for me 😅
💜💜
Just re-read People We Meet on Vacation which is my favorite Emily Henry novel and vibing to that song Fri(end)s so now I'm in a big mood for some friends to lovers romances. Any recommendations will be appreciated.
Omg friends to lovers is my favorite trope! Love and other words by Christina Lauren is a great friends to lovers story. I’m reading Love you always by Lauren Lacey right now and really loving it too!
Love ur channel!! Have you read Hurricane Summer by Asha Ashanti Bromfield. I really loved it! I also liked The House of Eve by Sadeqa Johnson & Honor by Thrity Umrigar. Curious ur thoughts
I haven’t read those yet! Thanks for recommending!
HI, I am a new subscriber!! You may have alrasy answer this queation before but how and when do you have time to read up ro 19 books a week? How do you do it lol i can barely read one book a week. Any tips.
I wake up at 5am to read each morning before work which gives me time to read!
❤❤❤❤
Hi I was a little nervous to ask because I know how you feel about Colleen Hoovers books😂. Butt I wanted to know if you’ve heard of “It Ends with Us” by her. Because I’ve already read the book and I’d be so interested to get your thoughts on it. At the time I read it, I came across it due to it being considered to be her most popular book at the time.
It ends with us isn’t my favorite of hers! Hopeless and Reminders of Him are better in my opinion!
Not sure if you read Out of love but I loved it!
I’ve heard great things about this book!
Make sure to check the trigger warnings for Colliding with Fate. It’s a great book though!
Thank you for sharing!
You should read some more Indigenous books! Have you read any or have any faves?
I have a few on my tbr that I need to bump up asap! Thanks for the reminder!
@@ShawnaciSchroeder I’d love to see a video showcasing your Indigenous-authored books! Maybe in June for Indigenous History Month you could try to tackle those books? I loved Five Little Indians but I also have so many nonfiction recs that i could share if you’re interested!
I haven’t read Never Lie or The Teacher 🤦🏾♀️. Please don’t roast me! I love some Ms. Freida though and The Housemaid was 🔥.
Omg never lie is so good!!
Have you ever read Emily Henry's YA speculative Fiction? I've heard good things from before she was popular...
I haven’t yet!
hey girl have you read this book "she drives me crazy" by kelly quindlen
I haven’t read that one yetb
Love you videos 🎉 we would totally be friends in real life ❤
Have you read “the violin conspiracy”? By a black author
I haven’t read that one yet!
I really like Emily Henry! My least favorite book, to where I wouldn't recommend it is happy place. I just didn't like that book
