What's a Good GPA for Community College Transfers?

  • Talking about the minimum requirements for transfer eligibility in the University of California system. It will vary by campus, but in most cases, having the minimum GPA alone will not make you a shoo-in for admissions. Good grades are very important, but all factors have an impact on the outcome of your application. This is why it is important to do extra curriculars and perfect those Personal Insight Questions! I also discuss the data that are available concerning past admitted students. You can find that below.

Hey Hailey! I just wanted to thank you so much for your videos. I was a one year transfer student applying to the UC's last fall and I got into almost every UC I applied to, including UCB and UCLA, in part because of your videos. The information with assist, AP credits, understanding pre major reqs, IGETC, TAP and TAG, all helped me succeed when I would've been overlooked by counselors who don't share a lot of this information. You and your channel are amazing resources for any community college student who's stressing out about transferring, knowing their path through community college, and just needing a little extra support. Thank you so much for your help along the way.

A good way to guarantee your entry into a PhD program in Psychology is to get some hands on experience with research. The CSU Psychology curriculum is not heavy on research preparation. A good gpa and the prerequisite courses will get you in, but already having been a research assistant will make it so you have better options on which professors you can work with. Good luck out there.
