VSL Synchron Bösendorfer 280VC Preset Demonstration - Playing only!

- This demonstrates most of the presets of the new wonderful VSL Bösendorfer 280VC.
The performance is completely unedited. I didn't even cut between the pieces - it's basically a concert!
The presets are absolutely untouched. It's playing only - a video with my thoughts will follow. I think it's the "best" plugin I have now.
Sorry for the slight glitches, I think it is unavoidable.
The midi controller is Kawai E200 ATX3l
If you don't have time to listen to all, try the PLAYER recordings first

Fantastic demo - amazing playing. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
My all-time favourite❤ i love this thing, and this opinion comes from someone who only have the standard edition, i demoed the full version before and man that tube mic🔥💀 I'd give my right hand for that sound, i think I'm gonna buy it, the next time it's on sale, i love it more then any vi
I’m so thankful to you for this video. I just need to upgrade my computer so I can have something that can run this. Excellent playing as usual, I like your expression and dynamics on the Ambience Surround to Stereo in particular. Would love to hear any original compositions if you have some video on that.
At first I though: man what a nice sound, but it sounds off somehow. cant put my finger on what it is though, maybe its the soundstage and that the velocity sounds higher than you actually played it. Then I listened to the same piece in "surround to stereo" and was blown away! The Chopin nocturne sounds sooo good! Maybe its because it has more body and a more intimate sound, but who cares.. it sounds awesome
Yeah it's sometimes difficult to nail the preset. Basically one has to change the instrument always a little bit according to the music played
Could you tell what hardware you are using for VSL? Ie. what kind of PC or laptop, what processor, how many RAM etc... ?
I was always aware of the VSL capabilities, for me the new discovery is this Kawai E200 ATX3l. For some reason my 200 pound controller doesn't do the same with VSL at all. So that's how it is supposed to be used. Interesting. Dreyschock is still shockingly beautiful.
I am indeed more than happy with it. I bought it without having any review at hand, although searching all the internet. I thought, even if the hybrid implementation is trash, I have my REAL piano at least.
Well,... the digital component is AWESOME, better than any digital piano which I had so far.
@@PianoScoreVids Interesting, what's the best digital piano that you had so far?
Probably ca98 but it was bad too
@@PianoScoreVids
So the e200 atx3 reacts better to vst's than the ca98, interesting. Thanks!
In my opinion yes!
At 3:10 I thought you were going to walk out of one scene with the pianino and arrive in the other scene with the concert grand. Lol.
what are the note velocity levels like ? ive tried a few vsts and im not happy with the touch response. it may be down to my controller but a few just lack that real feeling when it comes to touch response. i really want a vst that is good for soft playing aswell as harder it sounds great.
The touch response is as good as it gets with this vst. The bottleneck is likely to be your midi controller or your playing at this point
Thank you for great demo! I bought it yesterday and trying it out. It’s weird because I did some recording from my Yamaha p515 and in my headphones everything sounded perfect but in my recording I also hear som cracks like you have here. But that should not be because I had the headphones in the Yamaha and using usb midi/audio from computer to piano.
How is your setup? USB midi to computer and recording in computer or via external audio interface? ☺️
Usb to pc and recording in the pc :) i recorded directly into obs which leads to crackles. Because i have to use a bad asio driver for that. Normally i use ultra low latency (4ms) driver , but then i can't stream to obs. Normally i record and render everything in the end. I did so with this video too, i had to replay everything several times because i got errors in obs. Very annoyed i thought i accept some ticks now just to get the video going!
@@PianoScoreVids Ok thanks for answering! I’ll do some more testing and see if it continues. Might be me Zoom H6 that I had connected that made the cracks but never had issue with VSL concert-d so was just very odd.
Yeah we should try around a bit but i'm 90% sure it's not the plugins fault
Hi dude. Do you own other synchron piano instrument to compare with?. I am just deciding between this one and the synchron Bösendorfer Imperial. I own the Bösendorfer upright and I love it.
I own all; i am in the process of making a comparison video between all Vsl Bösendorfer offerings, should be interesting for you!:)
How is 280VC versus Garritan CFX in its close up mic "Player" mode?
I compared them a few days ago (one close mic only) and they both sound excellent
However the 280vc is more dynamic, and powerful, and due to its multiple releases, it's a more authentic buy for me
Man, this piano sounds so beautiful, love the midrange... what do you think about playability? Does it play like the VSL CFX and Imperial? Did you edit the velocity curve? Thanks for the demo!
It's almost better. It's really next level stuff in my opinion
However, the *maximal* velocities seem a bit lower than cfx or steinway. So, if you really need rachmaninov style ffff chords, you can choose that
I used the total default setting, i.e. f(x)=x as mapping curve
@@PianoScoreVids Däss is a scharmanter Bösendorfer! Dä bleibt auch im fff immer doch vornehm und lärmt oder knallt nicht. Darauf trinkens ein‘ Braunen!
@@albismusic270 ist das österreichisch? ich muss mich da noch kulturell etwas integrieren xD
@@PianoScoreVids great to know, if plays even better than the CFX is a must buy, thanks for your feedback!
@@PianoScoreVids That sounds awesome! The CFX is my favorite among the VSL pianos, I have to try the VC! Unfortunately I am away from my MP11 and only have an M Audio weighted controller atm D: Lovely playing btw!
How many velocity layers does this model have? Can it be set for more "p" and "pp" dynamics?
A lot
Yes vsl's always can, its the biggest range in the industry among garritan and some others
Not only that, but the ppp range of this piano sounds gorgeous, i couldn't believe It until i Heard it myself
It's the best in my opinion, has the warmest pianissimos❤
I'm hearing bits of clipping, is that a sampling issue or youtube post-processing?
the plugin itself has no problems in that direction. it was my fault, or CZcams fault indeed , but probably my fault
Great playing and nice sound but lots and lots of "ticks".
The idea isn't to burn this recording on CD. It's about demonstrating the sound
How is latency?
pretty good, but not the best in the game (pianoteq ofc, garritan feels a bit better, but it's more a question of how the attacks of the samples behave.) if you play with a lot of room sound , it will feel "slower" but latency by itself is good
