Glad you mentioned your new hairstyle, I was going to say the sideburns are period correct for that car 😃 Looking forward to the upcoming videos and especially to see what the brake issue is. Thanks mate

hahahahah that's true and not much different from my dad's hair in the 1970's .My usual barber moved out of my village in May and i have struggled to get appointments elsewhere, but i managed to get one in the weekend.
Regarding the brakes, I found today a official letter from BMW, dated from the 1980's, that explains the right bleeding sequence for these cars, which is different from the Haynes/Brooklands workshop manual!

I think the end is in sight, great perseverance, Gentil! The reward will be even sweeter when you'll drive it down the road.

The weather has been awful this summer. I bought parts to fix my Saabs... two months ago. Parts remain on my desk! Your BMW looks like quite a fun car to work on.

yes, not helpful at all. home you get your Saabs sorted soon. Weather might improve in the nex couple of weeks, apparently! This twin servo setup which is only on some RHD BMW's from the 70's is a real pain and many owners have trouble bleeding it. However, i found today a official letter from BMW, dated from the 1980's, that explains the right bleeding sequence for these cars, which is different from the Haynes/Brooklands workshop manual!

Apart from the numerous problems that you're faced with at the moment .
I'm sure that one day it will all come together for you , and then you'll be able to make it to not only the Festival of the Unexceptional , that you mentioned . Which as I saw recently , elsewhere on CZcams , is a fabulous day out for the average guy and his motor .
But also probably lots more shows and events in the years to come .
In other words , I'm certain that one day your patience and dedication will be richly rewarded .

Thanks very much. Yes, I’m positive that it’ll all work in the end and just need the time to do it a also get the right people to do the jobs I can’t do due to lack of skill or time

With a car like yours , it eventually becomes a labour of love .
And love doesn't happen overnight .
Bit by bit it will all slot into place .
But in the meantime , just keep accumulating as many spare parts as you can find .
Since we all get old , and even cars begin to show their age with time .
But from what I've seen of her , she certainly looks good for her age .
Obviously not too many late nights .
Or tearing about in her younger days .

You're absolutely right. This is a car to keep and not for sale, so it will have my full dedication, even if things don't go to plan, but thats life.
It was looked after most of its life, although not so much in the last 15 years or so, but it will get there

You've confirmed what I thought might be your approach of how you're going to go forward with the task in hand .
You're not out to prove anything to anyone , other than to yourself .
And even then , coming back to the Unexceptional motor event , that you mentioned is your eventual long term goal .
Nothing stops you just rolling up , when it's back on the road , with work still to be completed .
It's such a relaxed event , that no one seems that bothered , just so long as the numbers are there .
And you never know , you might find another owner of the same model , who's prepared to suggest ways around outstanding problems you might have .
Good luck , and I look forward to hearing about your progress in the months and years ahead .
