FYI, the Ball scene at the end of episode 1 is not CGI in an interview the cast spoke about only having 2,3 takes to tape because the fireworks were real. They joked about being cautioned to be careful not to get burned by sparks😊
ik i'm late but just to note: they would've never worn a corset in the regency era, it doesn't make sense considering the dresses in the regency era were made to hide ur actual body shape in order to create a new shape, so some things (obviously) are not actually accurate to the times. also corsets weren't always torture, that was just the extremists - they were generally made to fit probably, not to 'squeeze' a woman in. anyways, it's not that serious at all lol but just wanted add some interesting facts.
Never too late to provide relevant info! Interesting - now knowing this we’re assuming it’s probably the writers taking some liberties so they can symbolize how restricted women were in the time period. They probably figured most people today wouldn’t know the difference but glad you gave us this little nugget!
Love seeing people react to Bridgerton ah! I love a channel of film/tv reactions from an actors' perspective, great idea! I think critics really miss that Bridgerton is historical fantasy genre wise rather than period piece drama, the reviews are always complaints about the historical accuracy and 'Queen Charlotte wasn't actually black' but clearly that was never the goal with the show. It's light, airy, and about love & i love the commitment in the production & visual aesthetic even to the music like yall mentioned! i also love that they do the Bridgerton balls you can go to IRL, hope to go one day!
Thanks - we thought the channel was a great idea too! Glad you're enjoying it! We totally agree with you. Sometimes things are just meant to be fun and that's okay! Though Bridgerton is a bit more than just "fun" but you get the point.
Fun fact….the actor who plays the Duke, and the actress who plays Daphne were both in another show a few years prior to Bridgerton called Waterloo Road, but I don’t think they knew each other back then.
Loved this show, Rege' Jean Page also played Chicken George in the remake of Roots. He did an awesome job. It was his first time in the US, and he was around 23. Take a peek. it might be a great show to reacte to as being on the History Channel so many missed out on this gem.
Thanks for watching! :) -- When I said its an American show I was referring to the production side of things. The production company/showrunner etc are American so it's technically an American production even though the show takes place, is filmed in & most of the cast is from the UK.
@@ruthanderson7073 I actually low key felt betrayed when I realized how much of the show is green screen! lol I talk about it in one of the later episodes. They do amazing work with the green screen tho cuz I was SHOCKED!
The late great Roger Ebert said, and I'm paraphrasing, great acting can cover up bad writing, and this TV show was badly written, but the acting covered it up, and as future actors, one of your jobs will be to cover up the bad writing that you are definitely going to encounter, especially if you do movies or TV shows.
Yes! You're correct it films in the UK. When I said its an American show I was referring to the production side of things. Sorry about that! It’s coming soon. We just have to finish getting it set up and we’ll officially launch. It should be within the next few weeks at the latest but hopefully sooner. We’ll keep you updated!
The Bridgerton mom is terrible. That’s a lot of pressure on her son and her being pushy doesn’t help at all. Season 1 was definitely good but season 2 was so much better. Can’t wait for y’all to get to that season
Violet was being pushy? Miss girl….you do realize that Anthony was trying to get Daphne to marry a man who was definitely way too old for her right? Violet had Daphne’s best interest at heart and saw that Anthony was getting in the way, by basically scaring off every potential partner that Daphne could’ve ended up with other than the Duke. Violet was 100% in the right for calling Anthony out for his actions because he wants to talk about having duties and being responsible….yet he was hooking up with a poor singer girl on the other side of the town, and getting his brothers to do most of his work for him. She was being pushy? No actually she wasn’t….she was letting him know that if he’s the man of the house, he needs to actually act like that.
You should have to know each character's motivations on why they do it; good characters have their own agency, wants and needs. You can't realistically place on person in a box without considering other aspects of their persona. Violet wanted Daphne to find her love match, as she did with the late Mr. Bridgerton and she knows that her daughter is definitely not on board with Lord Burbrooke yet at the same time, she was also in the plot of setting her up with the duke. And she was right on calling Anthony out; he is the firstborn son and he's not in his late-teens anymore, he was already 28-29 at this point and all he does was off galavanting with Siena while scaring off potential suitors for Daphne. And outrightly stated to Simon that he'll just put the responsibility of having a wife to Benedict and Collin as he knew that Siena will never be accepted by polite society. The same can be said about Mrs. Featherington. She may never be one of my favorites but she reminds me of Mrs Bennett who is desperate to make sure all her daughters are married so they will have a secured future.
Dearest viewers! We’re excited to get started on our Bridgerton journey! WHO’S READY FOR LOOOOOOVVVVE?!?! ❤️😍🌹
Shondaland has lots of behind the scenes videos here on YT. ❤
Each episode cost 5 million dollars!!! Daphne alone wore 104 gowns during series 1. 😂
FYI, the Ball scene at the end of episode 1 is not CGI in an interview the cast spoke about only having 2,3 takes to tape because the fireworks were real. They joked about being cautioned to be careful not to get burned by sparks😊

Regency Era! Bridgerton is a British show not American.

The boat scene was CGI (green screen)

What a great quote! Yes, we will definitely keep that in mind as we work on our craft! :)

Pushy?? Clearly looking at this with modern day headspace. You know the coddle our adult children era.
