SynopsisDuring the Regency era in England, eight close-knit siblings of the powerful Bridgerton family attempt to find love. - ZĂĄbava
Contrary to what many others have said, I was NOT disappointed in season two at all. I thoroughly enjoyed both seasons, so please react to all of it. Your laugh is contagious, btw.
I actually preferred the second season!
i liked season 2 way more than season 1 tbh
season two is my favorite. season 1 is so good and i didn't think season 2 could top it....but then it did!!!
The people who moaned about season 2 were the ones that were just horny for the duke and didn't care about anything else lol
@@justiulia94 exactly, me personally, I didnât care much about the duke. LOVED season 2
I didn't expect bridgerton's reaction on this channel. a positive surprise. it's my favorite series right now
Stoked that youâre watching this. The comedy, the music, of course the love story. Itâs all so good. Iâm glad youâre enjoying it so far.
when will he release the next eps?
Your reaction to baby Simon is just so precious đ„č
Seb's cosplay for this is bound to be iconic!
Plot twist: he'll be wearing the dresses instead of the suitsđ€Łđ€Ł
imagine him in daphneâs blue flower dress or lady featheringtonâs tight dressđ
@@berliandivaaulia3995 Even better
He'll probably cosplay Lady Whistledown
Plz get this mans in a mens corset đđ€©
Sebâs face got so red at so many points I almost feel bad for laughing đđđđ
i love how protective you are of penelope already, you're in for a ride!
I LOVE how diverse this show is! Most movies and shows like this arenât very diverse but Shonda Rhimes put her finger up and said âhold on, watch thisâ
It does make it kinda confusing sometimes though since it's a period piece and in reality they weren't diverse to this extent so when they're talking about certain characters/origins it gets very strange
@@kuivia they explained it away by saying since the king took a Black wife (which is actually said to be true) that allowed the doors to be opened for other Black families to join high society. But also I do find it weird when shows erase Black presence like Black people didn't exist until the 2000s or something đ. There are plenty of stories of Black people in high society all over the world (the movie Belle is a great example in the UK) but since money is louder than colour, I promise that at any point in history minorities could be found. For some reason historians just like to erase that fact?
@@V_4_Versace Oh sorry i may not have been too clear, i meant more like when they made it so some people aren't acknowledged for being non white like the characters are presented as someone who is white but the actor isn't? Idk how to explain it.
@@kuivia It's not a period piece, it's a fantasy piece, tbh. Why banning people of colour from projects like that? We're so past this.
@@emiliaw5186 because story > tokens tbh. In the show they look down on certain people because of where they're from, slavery was not abolished here at this point.
The boxer is black and has NO money wouldn't the racists treat him as dirt and probably spit on him as he walks by?
It takes you out of the story when they act strangely.
I love this showâs way of turning popular songs into ballroom dances.
Please continue the series it gets even crazier!
19:46 Hello, I'm a History Grad and basically did my whole degree on historical attitudes towards sex and gender - SO I'm gonna hit you with some info that I think answers your question. More below.
Basically, it was pretty much from the 1960's onward that we see an increase in people having premarital/casual sex and attitudes towards it have steadily relaxed over the past 60 years - the invention of the contraceptive pill in the early 60s meant women could ayoooo without the risk of getting pregnant immediately - either with a husband or without one. This freedom to have sex without the risk of pregnancy basically led to whats commonly referred to as the 'swinging sixties' where everyone had the freedom to explore sexuality on a whole new level.
Of course, the freedom to AYOOOO when you wanted and hold off from having children also led to many more opportunities for women - if you could choose not to have kids you could then devote that time to other things; careers, travelling, jobs, etc. Once the 'inevitability' of motherhood disappeared, the emancipation of women truly began - over the last 60 years the roles of women and men have changed on a drastic scale in comparison to how they were defined in the couple of hundred years before (which was pretty constant, meaning women stayed in the domestic sphere and men operated in the public sphere (politics, finance, employment etc)).
You may know that In the Victorian era it was normal and in fact expected for women to have 6-8 babies (Queen Vic had 9!!) and look after those children whilst men went to work - yet if you compare that to today in the UK we have much smaller families and women can choose to have children much later in life than when they first start their periods.
Abortion practices have also hugely changed the game - in the past and up until the mid 20th century abortions were extremely risky and could result in death from both infection and blood loss - its only after abortions were legalised in 1967 that we see a decrease in the death rates of women seeking them. So, we can presume that rather than risk their lives women just waited until they got married to have sex - that way they could have some financial and social security if they got pregnant. (the movie Vera Drake is a hard watch but explores the sorrow, shame, and danger that could be associated with these pre-legalisation abortion practices)
WW2 had an impact on attitudes to sex too - from 1949 British men travelled to europe to fight in the war and left their families behind, however the county still needed running! All those men left their jobs as engineers, bus drivers, farmers etc. Therefore, the call went out for help and it was the women of the county who rolled their sleeves up and answered. When British soldiers returned in 1945 they discovered that the partners they left behind were not so easily put back into the 'mother' and 'wife' boxes - they now stood proudly as engineers and workers in their own right. Women tasted social and economical freedom and developed passions outside of the domestic life, and it's not been the same since!
So yeah, it's basically a mix of the pill, the development of safe abortion practices, and war that meant women could AYOOO as much as men had in the past, there is also also the decreasing role of the Church at home over the last century which has also led to more sexual freedom. However, that is a huuuuuugeee topic in itself so I won't go into that one today.
I hope you enjoyed the brief dive into sexual history, it's honestly such an amazing area of study and I'd recommend exploring some of it!! If you're interested in learning more there's a great podcast called Betwixt the Sheets: The History of Sex, Scandal & Society by History Hit (presented by Kate Lister) on spotify and I presume other platforms. See ya!
There's plenty of a-yo ahead Seb, just hang in there đ
I really enjoy the characters in Bridgerton, not always at first (with the exception of E, F, G & H, who are all very charming), but usually by the end of 'their' season. Simon in particular is really well written and performed, and the Featheringtons are all hilarious in their own ways.
Itâs been 84 years đđđ
Iâm so excited for you to watch this! I canât wait for you to get to season 2. Just an fyi each season is centered around each of the Bridgerton children. Season 1 is centered around daphne. Season 2 is around Anthony. Season 3 is Colinâs story. If that makes sense.
Theres a season 3?! đ
@@SoniaAlese its announced
@@SoniaAlese not yet, but it comes out this year! it just wrapped filming in bath
Not gonna lie Iâm sad theyâre deviating from book order, Benedictâs story is so good
Iâd love to see more of this! Please continue the show đ
Agreed!
Season 2 is even better than season 1, and I cannot waaaaiiiit for the third season!!! â€
AGREED. i wish to see more of kathony in season 3 đđđ
There better be more episodes of this because I am loving every second
Well dang it! I just came across this video tonight and then immediately went to find more of your reactions to the series. Iâm disappointed that it doesnât seem you chose to react to it any further. I hope you might reconsider and revisit the series.
Omg Seb this show itâs so good!!! I think season 2 is better than the first!!! Please keep watching. And the thing about the show is that every season will be focused on a different Bridgerton sibling so the story line doesnât feel repetitive for the same characters. And you should know (as a brit) the hierarchy of titles and why Simon comands such respect he is a Duke!! And FYI Anthony is a Viscount, the reason he is not good at managing the family is because his dad died when he was young and he wasnât actually prepared for the role of head of the family so young. But youâll start diving deeply into it as the show progresses. Keep it up!!
i freaking love it that you are reacting to this show, have fun!
YESS exactly i hope he also reacts to season 2 and soon season 3
I was so positively surprised to see a reaction to Bridgerton on your channel!
Wow did truly not expect this so glad you are reacting to it. U will love season 2.
Yes! Please carry on with this show. It's great!
Of COURSE I want more Bridgerton! I am impatiently awaiting season 3, and this reaction was just what I needed to tide me over for a while, so... as you seemed to enjoy it quite a bit I really hope you will carry on with it!
I quite liked the story lines and intrigue of lady whistle down on this show. They did a great job with the dukeâs backstory, I agree!
One of my most favorite series, I'm glad you're enjoying it too! Looking forward to you watching the rest of the episodes and the 2nd season
Seb please react to the other episodes too! I have watched this video so many times now, that I can't even count on my hands
Definitely keep watching! Season 2 is đ„
I just find it amazing the contrast between Nicola Coughlan's role in this show, and her lesbian schoolgirl in "Derry Girls".. Amazing actress... and 2 very different accents to master.
Great reaction, I recall as soon as I heard Lady Whistledownâs voice I instantly knew it was the wonderful Julie Andrews. I encourage fans to listen the Bridgerton the Musical .. the songs capture what happens in this season perfectly. Wait until you find yourself talking in a similar fashion to the characters. Looking forward to episode reaction 3 and 4 đđđŒ
Please keep reacting to Bridgerton!! I loved it! There's 2 seasons, I hope you'll enjoy this first one so much that you will want to react to the second season too!!
It is addicting. I did not like most of the characters at first, but they grew on me.
"Aww, I'll look after you, be my son." The way you said that was so cute. đ„șđ„ș
LOVE LOVE LOVE this show, definitely time for a rewatch. Season two is just as amazing!
Would happily watch your reaction to the whole of seasons 1 and 2 of Bridgerton. Just discovered your channel because the algorithm keeps feeding me Bridgerton reactions and I must say I quite enjoyed this one đ
omg same lmfaoo i recently finished watching bridgerton and iâm getting so many yt videos abt it and iâm not complaining iâm loving it đ
Your reactions are priceless!! Hope you watch both seasons.
Would love to see more! I think youâll really enjoy the rest of the show!
So happy you started watching "Bridgerton". You will like it. Season 2 is even better.
Please keep watching! I loved this reaction. The show gets even better in season two.
You are so đâd for reacting to this show!! I canât wait for S3 and the Queen Charlotte spin off
I've just finished rewatching the show and now I'm rewatching it with you and I am as hooked as ever. This show knows how to keep you interested.
I'm happy that you are enjoying Bridgerton so much. đ Hope we can see more in the future. Your commentary has made me laugh so hard, thank you.
Each season is centered around each of the Bridgerton children and their love stories similar to the books. Season 1 is centered around Daphne, Season 2 is around Anthony, and Season 3 will be Colinâs story.
Please continue this show.
The music is what hooked me. I was half ass paying attention until i realized at the first ball, that the string quartet was playing "thank u, next". Brilliant decision!!
Love your reactions. Top notch!
âOh sheâs dead, sheâs finishedâ đ I remember thinking the same when I watched this scene the first timeđ
Hey brother, just finished this series, god I love English historical drama, precise language is very important.
old English: you must make haste
now: hurry up bruv
Maybe not surprisingly we in the US thirsted after the Duke of Hastings as well! đđ â„
Seb your responses are seriously priceless, and have me in stitches.đ€Ł Iâm looking forward to more reactions such as âhe wants a slice, aye heâs getting the whole cake!âđđ€Ł
See, Lady Danbury can be sharp with Simon, but she's sharp with him because it comes from a place of genuine love for him, and both he and she know it. She's one of the few people who can genuinely get away with telling him when he's being a stupid douchebag. She's not a mother to him, because it would be offensive if she stepped in to his mother's boots; instead, she's his favourite aunt that everyone is scared of.
Watching you get more and more into it was frankly the best part.
I'm so freaking happy that you're watching it, hope you'll continue and watch season 2 too, I really enjoyed your reaction.
Him not knowing whisteldown is so entertaining
this show is brilliant at grabbing your interest, and season two is amazing as well! looking forward to rewatching it with you!
"No, I must have thee... my Diamond of the First Water!" LOL đ€Łđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł.... also the power the Duke has can be described as "LOTS OF MONEY"... and influence.
Seb, youâre just the best. Your reactions bring me so much joy!
"Maybe it's the lack of drama in my own life" lmao đ
Great show!! Wasnât expecting to love it!!
Will you continue with it? I enjoy rewatching it with you đ
I absolutely love your references of Game of Thrones! Itâs hilarious đđ
So glad you are watching this! I loved the series and have been wanting to rewatch it, now I can watch with you âșïž
I absolutely love this series and can't wait for season 3!! I really hope you watch them all and post them on here!!
Would definitely love to see more! Got hooked on this show right away. It's so good and so much fun. And I enjoyed Season 2 even more! I always love your reactions. I'm already looking forward to the next one. lol
Not seen many react to Bridgerton so Iâd love to see more. It had me hooked too, canât wait for season 3.
Yes, please continue to watch Bridgertons! I really like your reaction to it and dont know why but its so nice for a brit to react to a british show!
Omg! That was such a pleasant surprise! YES WE WANNA SEE MORE PLEASE đ
Please continue with this seriesđ€itâs one of my favourites ahhh, and your reactions kill me off as always đ
Amazing reaction! This show is so addictive and there's much more to come. Please continue with this show, will definitely be worth your while đ
Yess. I also took quite a while to get into this , but I got hooked in as well when I finally gave it a shot. It's so good, looking forward to seeing you continue.
I do hope you continue watching this. I personally prefer the 2nd season.
Love that you are reacting to this. Love the Bridgerton series.
Definitely watch season 2! Itâs centered around Anthony, and explains why he is the way he is đąâ€ïž
The wife made me watch the first episode, I was hooked instantly
19:51 It happened all the time. They were called 'Natural children' if not full out 'bastards'. With men it didn't much matter so long as they provided for the child and the child's mother - re how Berbrooke's name was ruined later in this episode because he did not provide for his child. Women were generally considered 'ruined' if they had sex before marriage. The point here however is that neither Penelope nor Eloise know how they actually become pregnant, they don't know what sex is. Men were generally told during their teens (heard of some stories of fathers or male relatives taking their sons to brothels so that they'd find out), women mostly knew nothing until their wedding knight
yeah im a little disappointed by his reactions. like id assume its obvious how women were treated as objects and the things women had to go through solely to please men and keep up their reputation while men could do whatever they wished. he missed out on a lot of big obvious cues
Such an addicting show! I was surprised you were reacting to it, but I'm hoping you do both seasons.
i would love to see more of this, the show is so fun and i loved your reaction to it
I love that you're enjoying this!
I love this show. So excited for your reactions. It's not groundbreaking but definitely very fun to watch.
You should definetly watch and react to more Bridgerton!
im glad you liked it, youâll love the rest of the season as well as s2
Omg i really love this show!!! I hope you continue this until the next seasons cause it just gets better!!â„ïžâ„ïž
So where's the part 2? We need more Bridgerton
I AM SO STOKED you're watching this. It's FANTASTIC
Daphne's punch is the icing on the cake lol
I'm so happy you're watching this show! It's going to be great with all the wheezing and ayos!
YESSSSSS I KNEW YOU'D LOVE IT!!!!!! Loved your reactions, your facial expressions were amazing!
I really do hope you post the rest of the season and season 2 as well!
Oh this was a fun reaction. I feel like this show has a way of sucking you in unexpectedly. I hope you do all of both seasons.
I love this series. Excited to watch this with you.
This is my favourite series so happy you're watching it!!!!
Please watch more!! In the book series Daphne has already had her first season with no suitors. Simons point of view points out that itâs because her 3 older brothers have scared them all away.
yesss i'm so happy you're reacting to this!! i hope you react to more than just the first season too, the second is even better and i would love to see what you have to say about it đ
I really didn't expect you to watch bridgerton what a surprise. I'd love to see more seb!
We need more!!!! Please! đ„ș
If you like Penny, I suggest my favorite show Derry Girls. She's Irish and it takes place during The Troubles. Lots of anti-British slagging, but it was common during the time.
Keep the show going! Itâs a wild ride, especially once you get into season two
Enjoyed your reaction! Hope you continue watching
please keep on watchingđ
I don't see anybody explaining the historical side of things. The presentation before the queen was real, since adulthood wasn't really a set age historically being presented in front of the queen was a public statement that the girl was ready to be an adult (for men the statement was a graduation of school). And that didn't just apply to being ready to be married, as younger children (for both boys and men) were not allowed to go to certain events, couldn't really call on people formally etc. Girls were presented once, sometime between the ages of 16-22 (16 was a bit rare for the presentation age), which is why the girls across the street were all presented at once. The season was just the offical term for the summer months in which social events were being held, and a good portion of those social events were to play the marriage mart. Since travel was more difficult, the marriage mart was basically lets get all the young people in the same room to play match maker.
Just waiting for THAT spoon moment hahahađ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
