Positive thinking or delusion?

  • There comes a time, if you’re in a toxic or narcissistic relationship, when we need to let go of positive thinking, holding faith and having hope that things will improve for us and let go and leave
As a yoga teacher and on my retreats, I’m always encouraging my clients and students to stay positive, to hold faith and to be strong in their resolve and hope that life will improve for us all individually and as a collective.
But that can sometimes mean we end up deluding ourselves! If you’re in an abusive relationship, it’s time to stop using spiritual tools like yoga, meditation, and positive thinking, to hold you in and keep you trapped in the toxic situation.
I did this for years, spiritually bypassing and not taking responsibility or accountability for the harm that was happening to me and the mistreatment that I was allowing in my life.
I’m a very positive optimistic person, it’s good to be, but let’s channel it into self love, self compassion and working to build boundaries around ourselves so that we can stay positive, strong hopeful and have faith that life will improve for us, outside of the narcissistic relationships and the toxic situations.
There’s a fine line between optimism and delusion.
Sometimes leaving a narcissistic relationship can be unsafe, so it’s very important to get help and support from someone professional Who can help you in that process if you feel afraid to leave
    Sending love, Saira ❤️
