This is such a great accessory. Yeah $60+ for it maybe a steep but it’s Disney prices. It also makes yet another great platform for customising. Can’t wait to see what people do with it🍺 be the Spark and stay safe👍🏻
Technically it does work with any "R" series Droid you have purchased. That is why they include an R2 dome. The instructions do not say its compatible with every dome type. Is is misleading in regards to the "C1" series though since the legs don't lock in. I think it pretty cool but a little pricey for what you get, especially since you need a complete Droid to utilize it and then have a bunch of leftover parts laying about. I think they should knock about $15 off that price.
You can use the c series for this but you need the connector peace that allows you to use r series legs on c series body. That connector peace make it tall enough for the bottom ferry droid leg to click in

I'm kinda leaning towards Sad on this one. I like the arm movements and that you can get some cool poses out of it. Unfortunately the Droid isn't really that stable on its legs. I would constantly be worried that it would fall over and break.
Plus the kit really should work 100% with all R models.
It is definitely cool, but I'm not sure if it's $70 cool. Can't wait for the Chopper video!

I think the R5, R6, and R7 would work okay without the dome extender, with the C1 canister I’m sure you could shave down the circle a bit to fit into the slot but yeah for $70 you shouldn’t have to modify it to work properly
I does have c1 compatibility, but not with chopper. The droids in the depot have an extension which extends the peg for the leg/wheel out so you can use it. Chopper doesn’t come with one, but the custom droids do.
Got to be careful, Sad might try to beat you with the stick during a video haha. Personally, I think it's pretty cool. It's be really cool if the balance was a little better. It did make me think "Well, now I need to make another droid" when I go there. I still need to make a first one haha.
Thanks for the thorough video. I think this is a great set. Nice that they include the unique head, and that they provide a head in general to make sure the buyer has a head that works. It’s a little disappointing that it doesn’t seem to work as advertised with the C1 canister, but I probably wouldn’t use it with it anyway.

What kind of paint do you use for your droids like the star tours one and weathering like on S4D? It looks awesome and I’m thinking of doing some customizations
I use all kinds of acrylic paint. For STR-TR5 I used a “airbrush colors” and created brand acrylic. And for S4D-B4BY I used a brush and liquitex basics. I’m not a stickler for most brands, it’s more about technique for me.

I think it would be cool to see the head extender with the normal Droid legs.
They REALLY need to redesign those legs considering how top heavy these remote controlled R series remote control units are.

I would give this a 'sad.' You're an adult, so you can deal with adaptation, as well as you have different droid models. However put this as a kid, who only has 1 of the droids, and unbeknownst to them (even though the box says it will work for all of them), they happen to have the droid head that it doesnt work for..or one with the head whose lights dont work. For $70.

This looks quite good to have as an exclusive item for Galaxy’s Edge. But the weight is an issue though for definite and what is up with the heads not fitting in?
The R5 and R6 domes have those areas where they jut in. Like where the R5 is supposed to have the holographic tape. Could the extender be blocked by that?

The dome extender on mine wasn't removable. It's tethered to the dome electronics by a ribbon cable.
A) It’s rad. I totally love mine and very worth the money
B ) Smooth move on Disney’s part because I was never going to get a droid until the Ferry acc came out. And now, I love the droid so much that I will buy another.
C) Rad paint job. Did you also paint the controllers or is it luck of the dice what you get?
D) Any luck since posting in finding the perfect leg position to prevent tipping while arm *flailing*? Lol
The droid is at the top of my list for when i go to galaxy's edge and this is def something im gonna have to pick up! I love the way bbh sounds. Not a fan of how flimsy it is. Are you gonna weather chopper and/or the ferry accessory?

You mean scrap metal? Yeah. They’ve had that at Disneyland since they reopened in April. Watch my livestream from Galaxy’s edge from a couple weeks back where I asked at Savi’s and got confirmation.

Put the extender on the chopper body that makes it slightly longer then the legs would work
Correct that fixes the problem. Unfortunately, That wasn’t a thing back when this video was recorded.
They say on the box that the ferry droid set is compatibility with the C1? Yet the legs don’t click in properly? I wish that they included adaptors that make it fit, as well as adaptors for the different heads. I want both Chopper and the ferry droid set so badly, but I’m making myself wait until we move around the end of January. (Yeah, you know how that feels.) Maybe by then they’ll have these thing available in Batuu east.
I made my own droid with the chopper style body and they gave me an adapter so I guess if I had the ferry set it would actually lock in with this piece. They didn’t elaborate if this piece would work on the ferry set, but just if I wanted to use longer legs like the R series droids.
I wonder if this would work better with Chopper with the torso extension they sell with the new C series droids?

Disney probably included the R2 like head because they knew it wouldn't work with the other droid heads.
You know when you put the C droid together and you have to remove that thing off the bottom? I am willing to bet if you put that back, those legs from the accessory set would plug into it.
Maybe someone else has suggested these ideas, but depending on the strength of the hand, maybe you can use the oar like a cane to help hold him up? Also, maybe the bottom extender for the C unit body might allow the legs to clip in? Just some thoughts.
Yeah and this video and product were released before the c body extended was released.

Can you show how to remove the middle leg to put on the bottom accessories?
There is a small button on the left side of the foot between the 2 silver parts. Push it and it releases.
You have to add the bottom attachment for chopper to use it
That piece wasn’t in existence at the time this video was made. It showed up 6 months later.

There is a small button. It’s in the middle of the leg it looks the same on both sides but one side does push in.

i thought their interaction was a myth since I've seen a lot of people compaining having 2 at home and they do nothing, they only interact with Batuu's droids

There's a possibility that the head or extender are wired wrong! Wouldn't have been hard to be clocked one spot off during assembly. I'll need to pick one up. Bought Chopper last time I was there but finances prevented me from splurging.
It really seems like it’s just a bad fit that prevents them from making proper contact.
@The Dan-O Channel I had to 3D print the tower for my D'Jarran helmet. I had to install and wire my own spring contacts. It took a good deal of fiddling to finally get all contacts to touch.

Just got a r2 with the ferry droid and my outer arms are not responding to my controller. Anyone else having this issue?
The only issue I’ve run into soo far was one arm moving slightly faster than the other.
It’s cool but not my sort of thing, when I get one ima make my droid just ur regular old r series unit. At the start you mentioned other merchandise does that include the pack that contains loads of different colour droid parts etc. I’m debating wether to make a droid Match our car which Is yellow and black but I can’t see any yellow pieces :/
They don’t sell yellow panels but you can always paint some. We have a whole group of people who customize droids MubosDBC.com
Wow, I was really looking forward to buying one of these and using a C1 body with an R4 cone dome but it actually looks to be a really crappy product. They even claimed compatibility with the C1 body and couldn’t even deliver that. Sad.

i have a problem with mine, like the arms wont even move and the legs wont move
Double check the connections on the arms and that they see screwed in securely. I had an issue with mine not being screwed on enough and it wasn’t making proper contact. The legs can be rigid and hard to bend but they should eventually let you post them. But be careful the more you pose them the weaker they get.

Bad design. They will have to make a special body so it don't tip so easy like that. To easy to make a child cry if the head cracks when it tips over. I learned this lesson the hard way one Christmas when my kids were young as this was their Santa present. Of course even Santa can have accidents dropping the toys from the sleigh, right? No worries, he'll bring another one just as soon as he can. LOL

Haha it’s called a supply chain blockage, once they get them back in stock they’ll give them out again. Are you really spending $100 for the box. It’s not like they even have a choice in the matter right now. Have you never been somewhere and something was out of stock? Seriously calm your tits there are worse things disney does to be mad about. Be mad because they don’t pay their employees enough for the amount of bullshit they have to put up with. Be mad because instead of management making signage that obviously explains the shortage they leave it up to some hourly cast member getting $11 bucks an hour to deal with every unreasonable asshat who wants to complain about a bag when it could have been avoided by being up front and preparing the employees. That’s something to actually be outraged over. Crying over a bag… You all got your priorities wrong on these whiny complaints.
