@@mr.scientist1469 I am a huge baseball fan currently learning about cricket so we’re probably feeling the same way 😂 It seems like they are based around similar basic principles, however they are organized differently.
Baseball and cricket are quite different, however more similar to each other than to other sports from what I can tell. At the very least, they both have a player throwing a ball to a batter, who tries to hit it hard and accurately. They both give points to the batting team for hitting it outside of the field (pitch). In both sports, the batter is “out” if the opposing teams player catches the ball, and it becomes the next batters turn.
The wickets always confused me, but I think it is pretty much the same idea as in baseball - the batting player must get to their destination (wicket or base) before the ball does or they are out, in short.
I’m from the u.s., and after watching a few videos on cricket I already understand it better than I do American football because of the similarities!
This is by far my longest comment ever, I just am fascinated by cricket and enjoy someone in the same boat as me but with baseball. Let me know if anything I said was incorrect!

I love the fact Cricket is so alive in India. It has turned the sport into a way more exciting sport. It’s now getting slowly popular again in the UK something I thought would never happen. It’s good to have a sport where America isn’t all that dominant and allows smaller countries like England, the West Indies and Australia have some glory and let countries like India, Pakistan and Bangladesh which don’t normally bother all that much with the olympics be world leaders in the sport.

Cricket Is getting popular in UK because of WC win and Stokes heroics in Ashes..! And for the same reason I supported England in WC Final..And I screamed like hell when Eng Won and I'm an Indian..! Cricket is A religion in India even if other sports are growing now..But Cricket is more popular than ever..The Series Win in Aus Generated a lot of Interest towards Test Cricket among Indian Youth..!

This was really helpful in explaining the sport itself and it's increasing popularity. I tried reading about cricket and I just found the written explanation so confusing, but the graphics with the narration was incredibly help. I can see why with baseball, cricket fell out of favor here in the US, particularly before T20 an along. But I can definitely see why T20 is so popular aside from the entertainment of it all. It seems like T20 made the game more competitive and therefore more interesting.
