I love my Alpha grip, and now have the control panel on order. Whilst I don't need a throttle (I have a winwing Taurus). I think I am gonna order this new throttle of yours just because of how well thought out it is.
I think a lot of simmers are gonna love this. They’ve been calling out for detents since they were removed from the original!
What exactly are the detents for? I'm fairly new to the world of Hotas/Hosas. A friend told me look at Virpil and VKB for some of the best ones.
@@cuptainreese it's tactile feedback so u know where u are in the position of the throttle by feel. For example u could set the Cosmosim detent in the middle so you have a bump in the middle. That could be 0% throttle in the game.. Everything past that is forward and everything before that is backward in a space game. It's so u can find exact middle by feel.
In a more normal flight sim it could be at 95% throttle and after that is after burners. It depends on the type of Sim. But it would definitely nice to have options!
They’re could be used for a tactile bump or lock, which you’ll need to actively bypass, by pressing with you finger in this case.
Could be used for 50% throttle ie neutral in a space sim, or afterburners at the sort of 90-100% range. You have customisable options depending which sim or outcome you want. 👍🏻

instead of having to get another throttle with merely a 10% discount would it be possible to buy a upgrade kit? it would appear the only real changes are the detent system being added and it would be a huge waste to throw my recently bought cm2 in a box and into storage because it doesnt have detents.

I agree, an upgrade option would be preferable. I mean, I bought the CM2 this year and no matter how good the new detents are, there is no way of me buying, another throttle in that price range, just because it was upgraded.
an upgrade kit would put too much pressure on the customer support system. Be realistic, it's hard to implement.
Perfect time to be seeing this, I’m looking at different options for when I upgrade my low budget HOTAS setup to a high budget one sometime next year. I think imma pair this throttle with the constellation alpha stick.

you can make a plate that is vibrating and put your throttle on that plate and use a arduino to make the plate shake with the game or any way just a wild idea

That's exactly what i wanted but thought i couldn't get. Thats why i orderes a month back and on monday it should arrive. Unlucky because its the old one which i saw the only downpoint in not having these detents.
Ohhh. That detent would be so nice to have for Elite: Dangerous. No need to look at the throttle settings to keep it in the blue in the heat of battle. Might have to bite the bullet and replace my Thrustmaster soon.

Could we get a retrofit kit for the original T-50CM series throttles? I mean ya'll dropped the detentes for "cost" reasons on the original CM series, so can we purchase an "upgrade pack"?
They didnt exactly drop it for cost, the original T-50's detents had a habit of wearing out to the point they'd get stuck and were dropping metal shavings into body of the throttle itself. Finding a solution wouldve indefinitely delayed the release of the CM and increased the end price, all while defective T-50s were still getting shipped.
It was better to drop the detents and release the CM as soon as possible before the defective T-50s got overwhelming then figure out the best detents for a later date. Considering it eventually took two years to properly do the detents I'd say they made the right call at the time.

@@herisson15 I disagree. My MT-50 CM throttle version 1 is worth more. That's why they sell for MUCH more than original price on e-bay. I don't have to buy a 2nd button box and if I want lever detents - I can 3D print them back in 2018. But I already have built in detents (CM version 1 & 2 came with them).

Has anyone figured out how to put the sticker overlays for the LED buttons on? I cannot seem to separate the clear cover from the white button top. Amazing throttle, worth every penny.

Is it possible to make a video to show how user hand fits on the throttle ?
The detent levers seems especially low compared to throttle grip.
I can’t imagine how I could manually lift the levers to slam from middle to full after burner without bumping on the detent wall (appart from the setting the detent without wall).

Is there a way for this or the CM2 to have the throttle work where center forward is "forward" and center backward is "reverse"? I like my CM2 but the buttons on the base are useless unless at least at 1/2 throttle or less especially in VR....

Do encoder dials work better than before now? I have a classic CM throttle (3rd version) and they're almost useless because they're super slow and/or imprecise. I tried changing a few things with the software, but nothing really helps.

Is it possible to have two detents at once? One at the back for Idle\Shut-off that requires you to lift, and one in the front for afterburners that is push-through without lifting? I'll pre-order right now if that is the case.
Judging by the pieces it looks like it should work this way but you'd think they'd highlight that in the video. This also came out of nowhere, their marketing needs work.
@@Specter0420 I've been waiting for this throttle since they revealed the “A New Way to Fly” video, which showed a new throttle. I wouldn't say it came out of nowhere. That said, they could have just said "We're working on a new throttle".
