- Mario kart is the best selling game on the switch, and has sold tens of millions on all its other platforms too, such as the wii.
It clearly generates Nintendo a lot of money, so why don’t they make a new one? The best we’ve got right now is Mario kart 8 deluxe, which is over five years old now, and even that was a port of Mario kart 8 on the wii u, making technically over 8 years old. Why haven’t they released Mario kart nine?

@@BryantheArchivist I like the tracks, (animal crossing and hyrule circuit, the other ones are meh) but the characters really don’t fit right to me, they look out of place on courses that aren’t their own
Mario Kart 9 will definitely be on the next console. I hope there’s a double dash mode, all characters, and all courses in that game.

I doubt it with the courses since the booster passes‘ courses are a handful. However the roster is still lacking, so I want them to improve that. Bring back Diddy, Birdo, Honey Queen and add some characters like E Gadd, Plessie, Pauline and Nabbit
I hope they have that mode where you battled bosses like on the ds version. It was pretty cool and different

I would like to add that Nintendo officially classifies Mario Kart Tour as the 9th game, so, whether you like it or not, it is Mario Kart 9.
Of course, when we say "Mario Kart 9", as in "Where is Mario Kart 9?", "What happened to Mario Kart 9?", what we're really referring to is "the next mainstream Mario Kart game that isn't either a smart phone game, or a spin-off toy", that is "the next _normal_ Mario Kart that is played traditionally on a Nintendo gaming system, with controllers".

No they don't..... Because I know your going off that chart Mario kart deluxe would've been another separate series entry and also the booster course as its own and the home circuit...
Other additions I hope they will conclude are:
Reverse tracks (mirror mode is cool and all but driving in reverse like tour, now that way better)
Mission mode (ds did that super well)
Better battle mode (eliminations, different gamemodes)
More unlockables (like in wii)
Character skins (you can buy these with coins you collect, this shop can be like mario odyssey’s shop)
I’d like to see what they could do with a story mode. It’d basically take the place of mission mode, but would be cooler imo.
@@mcyogourt2071 do it like GTA but a Mario version. Like Luigi, Yoshi, Mario, Bowser, etc, all have their own stories and sections over the overworld they can explore with their abilities and vehicles and stuff

1:36 technically double dash was the first to add double items but they removed it from some games

What can I say! I was engaged the whole time, I never got bored. What you said in the video was great and gave some great detail and the editing was just smooth, as well as the excellent camera work. Very underrated channel, I subscribed with notifications keep up the marvelous production quality!
Our Mario kart 9(or 10 since tour counts) needs to happen at the next console. I am so tired of seeing the same 48 tracks over and over for 8 years.

You're guaranteed gonna see the same 48 tracks plus the DLC ones in the next Mario Kart REGARDLESS, why cry about it?? The only difference with the next Mario Kart will be a new gimmick and a few new characters, everything else will be the same because why cut content in the new one from the previous games when you can just port over the Switch port instead of making a whole new ass game? This also applies to Smash Ultimate being the definitive entry for future Nintendo systems (the next original Nintendo console will not happen till another 10 or 6 years at the very least lmao why worry over a new console when we're most likely getting an Switch upgraded console instead?)

There are so many more popular channels than you that stretch out videos just over 10 minutes for the ads and just talk about random rumors and supposed “leaks.” This was very informative. Mario Kart is a one game per platform franchise and as the vast majority weren't even aware of the Wii U's existence they consider MK8D as the Switch's Mario Kart and it keeps selling like hotcakes so Nintendo are happy to go along with it.
i dont know why nobody mentions this but ARMS was made by the same studio that makes the mario kart games, nintendo epd 9, and arms was the latest game they have made so far
tour was made by DeNA but supervised by epd 9 so its pretty likely the current mario kart game has been in develpment since atleast the beginning of 2018 (when arms released its last update)
I too would absolutely love a Double Dash mode.
Remember Missions on the Nintendo DS version? battling bosses and what not? That was pretty fun and a surprise
they should release one with all the 170 tracks and all the game modes and new features so we'll have fun for the next 20 years, also a VR one

@@eduturk9 Highly doubt that they will almost certainly stick to a portable handheld and this will not be able to do vr. Steam deck is way more powerful and can't do vr.

Beyond 2024, probably around the time Nintendo's next system comes out. That is pretty much a given. The Booster Course Pass is only meant to hold fans over while attracting new ones.

honestly i like how they're adding older courses to mk8 as opposed to making a new game with maybe 5 new ones and scrapping all of the old ones

What facts? Mario Kart 4 is called Double Dash due to 4 being an unlucky number in Japan. Same with Mario Kart 9. Unlucky number in Japan as well. Took me 3 seconds to figure that out.
@@ibapreppie They never had planned on calling Mario Kart Double Dash “Mario kart 4”. They didn’t even start naming games after numbers until Mario Kart 7 anyway. When I say “facts” I mean the general bits of factual information stated throughout the video.

I find it upsetting that Nintendo offers updates/new courses for the iPhone/Android app stores almost every week but for those of us who payed 50+ dollars we also have to get the booster in order to get more tracks and you won’t even get all of them until the end of 2023

I’m still calling that the next console will be a bit of a Ultimate Console with inspiration from Ready Player One. Where Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario Sports and Smash Bros, are all installed on console already, and you can choose any of like 100 Nintendo characters and physically run into any game of your choice, and DLC handles monetisation of new characters, courses, stages, sports, etc
They should just call the next game mario kart X like mario kart 10 with a ton of remastered cars, courses and more
A new mechanic i would love too see is the time of day change like sunset wilds, or a mechanic where you can design your own karts

There's a reason as to why Tour is counted as an official Mario Kart game but the Arcade titles and Home Circuit arent.
I've never heard anyone refer to either of the others as mainline, although I have heard many say that Tour is.

Plus tour being mainline and arcade not would make sense as we got tour retro tracks (although it’s technically modern tracks if it’s in 8?) and we haven’t gotten arcade retro tracks

I would call Tour the sequel to Mario Kart 8, being a downgrade hasn't stopped them before, but I do not think it is Mario Kart 9, I imagine it's like an extra entry rather than The proper continuation, while still being a part of the main series

It seems Mario kart games come out every 3-5 years so I’ll give it until 2024 in Q3
The next will be called 10 or X, as Tour is MK9 officially.
I reckon “portal mode” where you can teleport to different segments of the tracks. You set the tracks and then the game switches between the tracks depending on the cut off points by teleporting you to the next on the fly. I would say get good instant access memory on next hardware Nintendo. I know that would be bloody difficult to program well so even if it’s “set combos” that’s better than nothing as well!
I'm fine with more tracks and the new tweaks for now. I still have lots of fun with MK8.

My wish list for the next Mario Kart installment:
- 48 original tracks
- 48 retro tracks
- 32 dlc tracks (including ones from MKGP or OG tracks using different Nintendo IP's)
- Have every character from previous MK titles return, while removing Metalic and most baby clones in favor of newer characters, some non Nintendo IP)
- Return of Mission Mode from MKDS
- Double Dash as an option to play
- The ability to do multiple tricks at once with correct timing to get a better speed boost or wipe out when landing
- If you thought 200cc wasn't fast enough, what about a hidden 300cc mode?
- Have the option to include 24 racers at once in a race
300cc would be hell and I’m here for it. 200cc was 1.5x speed so it’d have to be 2x or more. They’d have to change a few things tho. In mk8dx you can already outrun a blue shell for upwards of 30 seconds on some tracks on 200cc so they (and red shells) would have to go faster. They’d also have to make sure you don’t just launch yourself into the sun on every bump. The solution mk8dx has is some “gravity well” system where there’s more gravity on some parts of the track and it feels really unnatural.
Forget Mario Kart 9, where’s the battle mode with block fort?
For a new game mode idea, I’d like to see a tournament mode. Whoever comes in last is eliminated, repeat until one racer remains.
I say make a remastered version of Mario kart Wii for the switch. The probably the most played Mario kart in the franchise. People still play it and mod it since it got released 14 years ago.

I suspect the next step might be to include Nintendo characters from other franchises as well. They have already done this in 8, so i think they'll take this further in the sequel.

I wanted the newest Mariokart to have a form of time travel were your kart would act as a time machine and would change the track during the race. Going through returning past tracks, but new tracks In the present and future. This game does not focus on the tracks but on the items you can get. With returning old items for the past, and new items for the future.
Idk if its anything trust worthy, but on a german key side 'instant gaming' is a key for mariokart 9 which says it should come out this year

I really don’t want a new MK any time soon. I think they’ll probably water down the gameplay and make it even more hand holdy. I already have my problems with 8 Deluxe which is why I (and many others) stick to Wii and all of its custom tracks.

Nothing to do but the splatoon pro controller shown in the video their is a white ring I got that on both my splatoon 2 and 3 pro controllers and the 3 right after launch I got that same thing and tried to remove it multiple times when did you experience that and do you know what it is?

They quite recently released brand new courses for MK8 and there'll be new ones until early 2023 if i remember correctly.. so I don't think there'll be a new one for a while!

We have the MK8D Booster Course Pass so no need to make a 9th Title Addition with 48 more Tracks being added gradually to make a Grand Total of 96 Tracks.
0:07 that's the reason there's no Mario Kart 9. MK8DX is the best selling game on the switch. Once sales start to die, I believe that's when they will start the next Mario Kart. But Mario Kart 8 DX sales hasn't decreased, they have INCREASED. Hence why they decided to give us a s*** ton of retro tracks. I don't think Nintendo thought that a PORT would sell SOOOO well. They might have Mario Kart 9 already done. They are just waiting for 8 DX to die off before they release it. It's smart too. Because why release a new game when you're already getting soooo much profit from the predecessor.
