Video Courtesy: The Weather Channel Interactive (weather.com) Weatherscan with a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. This was the first time I witnessed in severe weather mode
I remember Weatherscan from a while ago. One of the older versions I remember had either two or three generated voices talking about the weather the whole time. Also, I do remember that in the case of severe weather, such as Flash Flood Warnings, instead of TWC's beep, it played EAS tones.
0:01 What do all the small pictures depict? I can see a tornado, I think the second is a fire, I think the third is a flood, I can't tell what the fourth is, the fifth looks like an avalanche, and the sixth looks like the aurora borealis.
My town just got lightning and dark clouds and nothing more. That warning was for the upper part of the county, several miles away from where I lived at the time of this recording.
More often than not, at least 3-5 of the days on the extended forecast had isolated-scattered t'storms in the forecast. And more than half the time, we had no storms.
When you said "more often than not" were you talking about it happened more often in those days or were you just commentating about the graphic in the video?
Now I don't have to wait until the summer to be spooked by this... the weather Channel also does the same thing in regards to the marquee and beping. ~_~
umm... Peter? Could you please not use my user to post comments? I don't want to have to yell at you for the 13th time to date, and neither do you, right? so please stop using my user, and get your own. Now. I mean it.
When I was little, I would watch Weatherscan just to listen to the music.
davidjl1234 I would too!
Second song is called Memories of the Past by Trammell Starks
The ending of the song called: "Late night cafe" was finally found on (2:44/2:47).
Thank you Intelliguy for uploading this. :)
This channel makes me feel safe.

The beeps sound like those things they have when they start a race. LOL
This version of the Weatherscan IntelliStar is missing the The Weather Channel logo.

The 4th is a tropical storm
If you look at the video, you will see that the storm was at the central part of the county. The current conditions station is from the lower part.

The TWC logo doesn't display when there is a watch or warning crawl present.

In Arkansas we don't really call it a storm unless there are tornado's. It was a thunderstorm warning... man that's really scary! LOL
Is the First Song Midnight Cafe, By Trammel Starks?
Actuallly, it's late night cafe by Trammell Starks. (Sorry for correcting you)
*I know this was 10 years ago, but respectfully, I do not care.*
At least they reduced the amount of beeps from seven to four.
