I changed my tensioner shoes with Cyco gasket shoes for $12 dollars @ 118k miles. I also replaced the lifters, while I was in there. Everything else still looked good.
Have the exact same problem on my 02 wide glide with over sixty thousand miles, just waiting for the parts ,, you are right on the twin Cam always check them every 25 to 30 thousand miles and I did check them at around 40 thousand they look good then, But when over sixty came around that was it,, 25 to 30 thousand is a must with the older twin Cams ,, Thank you for sharing this Video,,
I have an 03 ultra classic with stage 5 screaming eagle engine and tab performance Zombie Exhaust. I have 60,000 miles on it. My point is, they wouldn't have done all that work without changing the cam plate, you wouldn't think?
The must have changed them. I would think they probably changed them to gear driven or hydraulic atleast. Maybe next oil change you can pop the cover off and have a look. It is very easy to look.
@socalmotorcycleservices2876 yea, it was done at Killer Creek When it had 14,000 so I think so. It sounds and runs amazing. It's the 100th Anniversary so you think Harley went all out on it...

That sounds like a great bike.
Have a 2006 street glide 20k miles. When should i be concerned with tensioners....?
I would check them out on your next oil service but I wouldn’t worry too much, it is still early.
what are the miles on this bike?
The bike has 60k miles on it.
