GRAPH TECH RESOMAX - The Ultimate Les Paul upgrade!
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I noticed a few unwanted rattles and buzzes coming the bridge end of my Les Paul recently. Not cool. As she is going in for a REFRET soon I figured I would sort all this out. I got in touch with the AWESOME people at Graph Tech again and they hooked me up with some new killer parts.
    Thanks guy!

Great design. These are essentially like a roller bridge without the rollers center post that can sometimes bind. Leave it to Graph Tech to resolve an age old bad design problem. And the magnetic saddle, brilliant.

Way cool video. I'm getting a new bridge/tailpiece set in two weeks, just watching and trying to decide. This will be for my 2000 Les Paul 1960 Classic Reissue. I got the graphtech multi-geared locking Ratio Machine heads as well. I don't know why I got them and waited a year to put them on. They are fantastic as far as string changing and staying in tune. The reissue machine heads I didn't like and swapped out after a year with Grover because the bass player/singer stopped at the music store and said, get new tuners, i'm buying and tired of you tuning up all the time. I had Grover machine heads on 21 years. I did take the advise from a video to not have my stings wrap around the post on locking tuners especially for the wound strings, keeping them free from binding on the wrap just before the string comes off the post. I don't know if it's the string almost around the post or the locking mechanism and I don't have a locking nut on this guitar, but you would think so. This guitar stays in tune very well and every string reacts the same when tuning up. Any feedback on the wrap thing, not the long winded thing? Supposedly, I haven't studied it, they say you can go from say E standard to drop D with one full turn for the 6th string on this system and you are there, I say 97% there. I think the EVH D-Tuna is better in that case. It's not the easiest to install, maybe it is since I didn't put any of the screws in. In my case one screw hole is lined up out of 12 for the backing plates, so I left it off until I'm convinced wood screw hole filler and drilling 11 new holes is the way to go. If I did line up the screw holes there is a whole lot more wood to come out of the tuning post area. Mounting plates were included, but I bought the upgraded InvisoMatch Plates to match the other new hardware. The plates are still sandwiched in because of the alignment nipple on the machine head and it wouldn't be flush without them. They cover up the original blemishes which isn't a big deal just gives it a more finished look. Maybe I should leave the bridge/tailpiece on the shelf for a year.

Crikey mate, didn't know you had done this! Just got a 2nd hand, Agile LP Jnr , 2 P90's. The action is awesome, i can actually set it even along the whole neck and too low! Not that i finally did, but that how good the neck is! But the bastard won't intonate with the wraparound that's on it! So after doing my homework i actually bought the graphtech resomax, liked the impregnated saddles. Question for you, what P90's do you find you really love. At the moment for what a can test being out of intonation, i find i'm liking the stock whatever they are. But what k pots and caps would you use? Bugger me and i found this without consulting the master! Pure luck! Great minds think a like, fools band together! Maybe i'm just a Fool In The Rain!

This is ABSOLUTELY the kind of bridge sytem I've been unknowingly looking for. @@SpedSpedding That’s not what I asked!
Just check the timestamp in my original post and you’ll see what I mean
It’s implied that, prior to using the magnetic tailpiece, the original is put on backwards & I just don’t know how that works
      (but I’d like to know!)
BTW it’d be nice to know how magnetised the STRINGS are when being in such close proximity to SO powerful magnets because IF they become magnetised to a different polarity they will fight the alnico in the pick ups themselves (which may or may not be a good thing…?)

For anybody looking at these. I put one of these into a t386 about 18 months ago - it's already collapsed. 10 - 46 strings and high tailpiece (not bolted down at all). I really liked the sound bit now has a 1mm dip in the middle of the bridge. I've contacted their customer support - will wait and see what they say - but this is not really fit for purpose in my experience. Normally when you hear about a collapsed bridge its pig metal from the 1970's. So real issue with this product - not best pleased.

Magnets? Really? Does it not conduct the magnetic field to the strings? That then effect the magnetic field of your pickups? And those saddles are coated or just a different material all together.. Want to change your tone? Change your saddles to a different material! You may or may not like the difference. Ti saddles sound different from the standard Gibson steel saddles as do the nylon Gibson saddles found on many Gold tops with P90s.. There is no before and after tone and sustain comparrisons.. Id say this is a "do it at your own risk" situation. The magnetic stop piece could definitely effect tone.. It sounds good in theory only to hold the stop peice from dropping and sliding down your guitar face. To gimicky for me to consider trying. Wanna improve your tone? Sustain? Resonance? Have individual string height adjustment? Go BABICZ! Want to improve tune-ability of your Les Paul..Gibson TP6. A micro tuner factory Gibson tail peice that makes tuning a breeze! Fantastic combo!

I can raise and lower my bridge with the thumb screws effortlessly. Kind of a solution to a problem that wasn't there. Just like the Stop Bar falling off, I usually replace one string at a time and when I don't I just be more careful and don't let it fall onto my paint

Julian Sedor It’s a tonal/feeling preference for me. People say that screwing it all the way down can collapse the bridge. For me, I overwrap so my break angle isn’t as severe. Plus it makes a set of 10s feel like 9.5.
