In late 2022, along with his attorney, Ian Murray reached a settlement with the Jacksonville (Florida) Sheriff's Office (JSO) who had falsely arrested him. Ian's name has been cleared legally and it has been shown that there was no wrongdoing on his part.
However, to date, this false arrest and accusation is still affecting him. In an effort to help clear his name further, we allowed Ian to walk us through this arrest.
Ian Murray is a U.S. military veteran who served our country in Afghanistan in 2017 and as of September 2023 is currently on deployment out of country.

You obviously did not know about the change in American police law.
You are presumed guilty until you can prove that you are innocent.

I was in the ANG and they sent the ANG AG into a Sheriff's office with the State AG for a very similar issue. He continued to double down on dumb and he got a call from the Governor which finally cooled his jets and stopped being a butt.

I would have respected this guy, if he hadn't said law enforcement was a dangerous job, it objectively is not. Most cops die from traffic incidents. He simply, had to deal with what most citizens who get targeted have to face from law enforcement.

Look up all jobs ranged by danger of the job and death rates and see where your job rates! Law enforcement isn’t the most dangerous occupation but it is a lot more dangerous than most occupations.

What an awful experience. You have my sincerest sympathy. It’s hard to imagine why anyone would want to treat a member of our armed forces in such a deplorable way. Very sorry this happened to you. 😔💔

Scary. Things like this story has always made me VERY cautious.
Edited to say I'm sorry this happened to Ian. It's bad enough to do this to some random civilian but to do it to a guy who served(ret. VT National Guardsman myself)and he was serving as a LEO for his community which compounds it immensely. How were there no adults in the room from close to the start of this that could have called this off before it got worse? Like this is so frustrating I'm taking a break 15 min in and will come back when I'm not so agitated. All said and done I hope he's set up for life after going through this. Maybe look to find a small town to be a lawman in where it's only a few LEOs so you don't have to deal with a lying diversity hire and a bunch of backstabbing and egos setting you up like this...Whatever happens I hope Ian has nothing but good stuff going for him. Bro deserves it.

What amazes me is how many employers are so ignorant on the law regarding NG and reservists.

I was stopped by a JSO for a license plate light out last night. The JSO officer asked me for my driver's license so I gave it to him. I watched him run it then he gave it back to me and told me to have a good night. I checked both lights when I got home and found that they were operating correctly. I guess that this was an illegal action just to get a good at my license. Anyway I was very lucky that he didn't change me on something made up.

because the union does not even support the membership, they represent the best interest of the cash flow and those that collect the payroll dues and sign the checks to the union i.e. they represent the chief of police certainly not the people (in any imaginable way).
