I think the stress on the welding, will eventually crack. The weld is porous & weak. Not strong like a solid, poured cast.
Зря прикалываетесь. Этот зуб по твердости выше чем соседние и если он хорошо прогрел основание при плавке первых слоев, держать будет намертво.

what's wrong with using "JB Weld" to build that up?

It might hold just fine. But there’s so many variables. Stick welding leave slag which you see them chipping off with the hammer. They are probably getting slag inclusion
I would worry more about it being round than that tooth coming off
