  • Replacing a shower rose is straight forward and fairly easy for your average home handyman. This video has all the instructions, step by step to help you change your shower head.
    The white tape used in the video is often called "thread seal tape" or "PTFE tape" according to Google.

    I've done this before with a different shower head. The unit screwed in but it points in the wrong direction. I had to loosen it a bit to get the shower head pointing up. I didn't realized you can add more teflon turns to orient the shower correctly. Thank you for your tip.

    Hi, Thank you for posting this great video. Aussie Aussie Aussie!
    1 Question. I was told at Bunnings we will need to first turn off the mains water supply before doing this. Otherwise I'd be on Channel 9.
    I am not sure where the mains water supply tap is located in my house. Is it really compulsory to do this if my taps are off?

      I can't really comment about your taps and shower rose. However, at my place I know that if I have both taps turned off and there is no water coming out of my shower rose, then I'm okay to replace my shower rose. The shower rose is not a tap that can be turned off or on. So, if there is water running in the pipes behind the shower rose then the water will come out the shower rose. However if there is no water in the pipes behind the shower rose, then there is no water to come out of the shower rose and there will be no water to spurt out as you start to undo the old shower rose.

    Do you have to put on the tape?

    • @Howto..GardenGarageHouse
      @Howto..GardenGarageHouse  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes, as the tape helps to stop leaks from around the thread.

      If you don’t want water leaking everywhere, yeah. Plumbers tape is cheap as chips anyway though.
