    Little bit of contstructive criticism: Set your mic to mono, whether that's in OBS (if you use that to record) or later during editing. I've had this in my recommended and obviously clicked on it, then looked around your channel a bit, and all of the recent videos (after the 500 subs one) had the audio shifted to the left for some reason (with headphones, might not be obvious on a phone or speakers). When you set your mic input to mono in OBS, or do that later during editing to the mic audio track, it'll always be center. Not like you need stereo for just a voiceover anyway 😛
    Also holy crap someone finally says it 😮 I've been calling Win10 LTSC "windows the way it's supposed to be" for ages, or alternatively "windows the way it used to be". One version, very little bloat (including no store or xbox app, though you can just reinstall those if you need them), no forced feature updates breaking stuff, security updates (and general support really) for a certain amount of years so you can calculate based on that. It's my main OS on my gaming rig because 11 definitely isn't an option considering how much they've butchered it, from removing all the taskbar customization to the stupid right click menu and tons of other little things that combined just turn it into a PITA to deal with... ugh

      @Knaeckebrotsaege Damn, I didn't know that was going on. Thanks for letting me know. I got a new mic around the 500 subs mark. I've always just used speakers when I do editing.
      I'm looking forward to what W11 LTSC will be like. There's a few things about 11 that annoy me (like the taskbar), though it seems pretty solid over all. If 12 turns out to be a complete turd, at least LTSC should be supported until 2032.

    Atlas looks pretty neat to me. Think this will be how i'll be going forward for gaming. Otherwise linux I think on other systems. Thanks for this man. I'm a new sub and you've taught me some new stuff.

      I think you'll enjoy the debloated Windows experience. It's a much better experience.
      Thanks for supporting the channel!

    So.. im using ReviOS and actually the First Thing i did was: Turning Back on Defender, Spectre and Meltdown Migration because Security on Windows is High Priority. Anyway so Far.. using it since a While on Win10 and Win11 and its Great. :)

    Smart App Control needs telemetry because it provides the information necessary for it to determine whether or not to go into lockdown. Telemetry just means the "flight data recorder" of the OS.

      @KenHarrisio  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I don't have an issue with them using telemetry (which is needed for it to work right anyway), I would have just preferred that they hadn't tied it to the "allow diagnostic data" option in group policy, and just tethered it to the telemetry system that Defender uses. I suspect that part of the reason behind that is they are getting annoyed with the amount of people that are turning off the excessive data collection.

    i had no idea you could do this in windows 10/11 i honestly thought this was only a thing for windows 7, personally i run a VM of windows on arch since it's bricked on me so many god damn times & killed my PC via a random update it's nice that people have worked out a solution to this problem since it's an ass to set up a linux based VM system.

      These kind of projects have been around for a bit of time, they just haven't gotten much attention. A lot of that is because they used to use custom ISOs which is a huge security risk. Now that they use playbooks, it's a much better option. Atlas is a really solid option that is pretty close to the LTSC edition. I would like if the AME team would have the option for people to leave updates and Defender in for those that want it.

    can you make a video on how to uninstall the os named revi os? or atlas?

    • @KenHarrisio
      @KenHarrisio  Před 5 měsíci

      Unless the option is removed by any of the playbooks, there's a reset option that will either keep your files and reinstall the OS or it will just reinstall everything. If you go to Windows Update -> advanced options -> recovery -> reset this PC, that will do a reinstall. If the option doesn't show, then it might have been deleted from tweaks the playbook made. If that's the case, you might need to burn a new Windows ISO using Rufus.

    Err... Windows defender counts as a AV. Right?

      It does.

    • @KenHarrisio
      @KenHarrisio  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Yeah and it's gotten much better in the past few years. If you run a hardening tool like ConfigureDefender, it's all an average home user would need.

    I think it's kinda hilarious that they have AtlasOS on Github that Microsoft pretty much own now (right?). I guess it's a legal option but I can imagine it's making them a bit irritated :P

    • @KenHarrisio
      @KenHarrisio  Před 4 měsíci

      Yup, I think they bought it out a few years ago. I might be missing the mark here, but I don't think MS really cares lol. I don't think I could mention the name of the script without getting in trouble, but it's something that allows Windows to be activated and has been on GitHub for years. There's a lot of Reddit posts that talk about it and a ton of people use it. The theory that many have is that MS would rather people stay on their OS for free if it keeps them from going to Linux.

    atlas os or revi os?

    • @KenHarrisio

      Atlas is my recommendation of the three.

  • @RMKry

    Windows Update Yes. Windows Defender No. Why? Because Windows Defender slow down SSD/HDD when you have a lot folder and files.

    • @sykoteddy
      @sykoteddy Před 4 měsíci

      Wouldn't it just be sufficient to just run the active part and not scan the whole disk(s)? Maybe it still slows them down. I haven used Windows for 10 years so I don't know anymore.
