Way back in the 1970's, I was continually outraged by certain bus passengers (ALL black women) throwing hysterical anger fits on the red London Routmasters because they stepped onto a full bus, refusing point blank to get off. Consequently, I was frequently late for work as the driver and conductor could not continue with an overloaded bus. This usually meant fare paying passengers like me having to walk the rest of the journey.
This hastened my decision to finally forget buses, get a driving licence and permanently drive to work. It also affected a career change when I was re-located to the West End and reliant on buses again. I left London for good.
It's the same tactic Disney use to deflect criticism of their godawful "content".
Put a diverse person front and centre of any project, then dismiss any criticism (regardless of what was actually said) on racism, misogyny, homophobia etc.

I once disagreed with a senior officer of my regiment on matters of history which he had written about in the regimental magazine, and most people were convinced i held some sort of grudge against him which had motivated me to contradict him, but they were wrong. The idea that you could disagree with someone simply because they were wrong without any sort of feud or dislike, didnt enter their thinking. We see the same sort of attitude toward Simon's diisagreement with this black woman, it shouldnt make any difference that she is a black woman and I'm sure it didn't, Simon's contradiction of her views would have been the same if she were a white man.The problem is that facts dont care about emotions and emotions dont care about facts

How on earth can a higher mortality rate of black infants be a result of racism in Britain? A doctor and a nurse (who themselves may well be from Pakistan or Nigeria these days) become less diligent when they attend a pregnant black woman?

In my field I published over 20 papers before being pushed out for failing to qualify demographically - all of them peer reviewed almost entirely by Indian grad students and post-docs. I could have written almost anything I liked in those papers and they wouldn't have caught it. In truth, I doubt they even truly understood what they were reviewing. Academia has fallen.

Hi Simon. Yesterday, I went to the British Museum, along with my daughter and grandson (he was after a book or two about Greek mythology). After wandering around the Greek and Egyptian halls, we visited the bookshop.
I could not believe my eyes! A veritable panoply of books about the influence black people have had on these islands throughout the last two millenia! One book ("100 Great Black Britons"), has, as number one: Diane Abbott.
