It kinda is a regular thing already in the Mythical Kitchen channel 😂 Josh cooks the same meal with ingredients from an expensive grocery store vs a cheaper one and has one person taste test. It's very chaotic and Josh is hilarious.

I think a comparison from Aldi vs. Whole Foods might be a better test instead of everything from Whole Foods.
Mythical kitchen already does that kind of thing. There will obvs be a bigger difference but this was just about when ur shopping at a specific store

@@KingPinguofDingu Not necessarily, it depends on the product and how it is cooked. There are certain foods worth spending more on and certain ones that taste exactly the same regardless of price.
Aldi doesn't have enough health food options in comparison to Wholefoods.

I was thinking the same thing
I thought the same but they actually have the ingredients for the hollandaise on the ingredients podium, and you can see a little bit in the up-close picture. Definitely not enough but there is some one there. I prefer mine to be slathered in it, personally. They were probably trying to keep the muffin from disintegrating with the moisture 🤷♀

There's a lot happening here: finding the cheaper dish, guessing the price of the more expensive one, and determining if it's worth it. And they're doing all that in their PJ's 😂

there's not much difference in whole ingredients which is why its great to cook with them, but you can look at impact if thats a priority you can put in your budget, as well as nutrient quality which is often changed through difference management practices which may change flavoring based on mutiple factors within that.

The ingredients were too similar in general to make any difference, in my opinion. For example, both brands of pickles were lower priced varieties that are equally bad to me. It would have made a lot more sense to test Vlassic vs Bubbie's or some such.
If there's no difference in taste there's REALLY no difference in nutrition between brands of commodity-type foods.

While yes, cheaper stuff tends to be better for cooking, you will often want to upgrade specific items in the recipe. This is especially true for spices.
