I don’t think SpongeBob needs water to survive anymore
Yep, he's been shown to breathe above water
Crazy how only a few days later an Epic Mickey Remake gets announced by the developers of SpongeBob BFBB Rehydrated
I gotta deny this, im sorry- but I have a few pieces of evidence of why SpongeBob survives erasure.
Spongebob might be able to survive erasure. But Mickey's brush is not erasure.
It operates on a level beyond the writers, and typical boundaries of fiction.
Because it can off characters like Buggs Bunny, who has survived, replaced, or outright stalemated the authors/animators, on numerous occasions. Meaning Mickey can effectively melt author level characters, as well as negate their hax.
@TUCKALMIGHTY It came from the string, which Patrick erased him with near the end of the episode; it even affected the real world above, plus, since you say the page embedded into Spongebob's head comes from real life, can't he just make himself immune to that?
@TUCKALMIGHTY and plus, Mickey can't just outright just do that, he has to catch SpongeBob.
I would say it's a stalemate, even if SpongeBob was erased or whatever, he can still be remembered by all those who had watched him which is the source of his true immortality stated by Frenchy the narrator.
And one more thing, no one is beyond the authors, it's all scripted; no matter how we perceive the powers of our beloved characters, they are still under non fiction, they don't exist, so no one is beyond the author, Disney owns Mickey and Nickelodeon owns SpongeBob.
I don’t get why you claim spongebob's durability is inconsistent. He is quite literally never shown taking any serious damage and any "damage" he recieves is almost instantly reverted. It's toon force's most consistent gift: immunity to getting hurt.
And no, spongebob didn’t die in the Spongebob Squarepants movie, he dried. As soon as he got some water on him, he was fine.
I probably should've been a bit more specific with my explanations here. Since what I meant, was basically that Spongebob's level of immunity is portrayed inconsistently. Because he doesn't have any super meta- in universe explanations for it? Like we got in WFRR for Mickey.
For example? Spongebob is unaffected by Flats punches completely in the episode "The Bully" implying some sort of immunity. But in the episode "Home Sweet Pineapple" Patrick smashes Spongebob into small tiny cubes with his physical attacks- implying he can take damage.
Yes, Toon Force can heal or fix Spongebob's wounds without any explanation? But it can just as easily prevent him from healing or tanking damage- like we see very often in the later seasons. Unlike Mickey, who is stated and shown to just be straight up immune to damage from everything.
Also? Spongebob did in fact die (or was about to) because we literally see the sailors in the film, start to cry after seeing Spongebob's demise-- before he manages to become rehydrated. This is also backed up in the nicktoons crossover games, earliest episodes of the show, and the second movie-- as being a consistent way to off the Sponge.
Just my thoughts though, hope that explained my opinions on it.
Keep lying like a clown lol. Spongebob has literally gotten a balck eye for a entire episode
Lots think but Mickey had lots of OP egos.
But Spongebob had near balanced egos.
Not sure, I would say Mickey is the strongest toon in history, but I would give that to Bugs Bunny because Looney Tunes are generally more violent and crazy.
I think this battle between Mickey and SpongeBob might have to do with characters usually depicted in a mild-mannered manchild kind of way, and was flanderized beyond it's original intention to the point of non-recognition; and I'm assuming that comparison because of how Mickey's depiction in "The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse" is very unappealing to me.
@@robbiewalker2831what are you talking about?
Definitely not because SpongeBobs pencil can destroy all of fiction.
He can't
If I'm understanding the concept of "Toon Force" correctly, it essentially means that whoever cartoon character is wielding it gains both infinite power and infinite pain, completely dependent on whether or not the writers think it's funny. Spongebob and Mickey both have Toon Force, so in the concept of an all-out battle between the two, it will ultimately come down to whatever the funniest outcome will be.
In this video, the final verdict is that Mickey will win because his magical paintbrush beats Spongebob's magical pencil, more or less because the brush's Thinner outranges the pencil's erasure. There is also a lot of explanation behind Mickey's history and training throughout Kingdom Hearts to show his strength against Spongebob, who relies almost completely on Toon Force since nothing is considered 100% canon in any Spongebob lore.
However. If Toon Force is at play, since this battle is fiction, no matter how you spin it, the winner will never be Mickey.
Mickey's long journey and immense explanation for his victory will be his downfall because Toon Force relies on what the funniest outcome will be, which can be one of two things: One outcome is the person with less (or zero) training/experience/knowledge, or overall the bigger disadvantage due to laziness/clumsiness, wins. The other outcome is a third party with significantly less practice/preparation completely destroys both participants and wins. In neither of those two possibilities does Mickey come out on top.
To address the "cartoons beat the writers because of Toon Force" argument, the idea that Mickey, Spongebob, Bugs Bunny, or anyone that wields Toon Force can beat the writers of the battle is simply impossible, because at the end of the day, the writers wrote that the characters can use it in the first place, and they write HOW the characters will use it as well. Absolutely nothing can beat the writers in the end, no matter how much disbelief you try to suspend, because otherwise any battle with Toon Force at play would be completely incomprehensible for the human mind, and we would never know who would actually win without witnessing the fight ourselves, something that can't happen because it's fictional.
Unless I completely misread what Toon Force means or forgot any specific details about either character, this seems like a win for Spongebob.
Awesome video and series, by the way; it's really cool to see someone trying to tackle such difficult battle matchups with considering every possible outcome and world-rule-difference, while still maintaining little to no bias for either character. Loved the Gojo-Sans video as well. 👍
Well i disagree on the paintbrush because spongebob survived getting erased and he also regenerate his body he also gained the ability to breath out of water and he is insanely fast
spongebob can teleport what even the cameraman couldnt saw him and sponge killed cameraman driving his boat. And even with that Spongebob could rewrite his story in the second moive and in comics so Mickey is just too slow for spongebob
We are going off the logic that is applied in who framed Roger rabbit, no matter how much someone or something tries to erase a room they never fully can unless it’s paint thinner
I'm still curious about Mario vs Mickey now, especially watching this video. I know you said you would cover this after Mario gets a new game, but after the two gotten remakes of older titles, I wonder if this match up composite wise is much closer then the match-up here, considering the wild stuff Paper Mario, Super Mario Rpg, and even some Mario and Luigi titles holds.

Good analysis. I have one quibble though. Toon force isn't "quite literally the strongest power in fiction." The potency of a superpower usually depends on the character using it and/or how strong it's written to be in the fiction in question. It's easy to imagine an outstanding maximum potential of toon force, but the same can be told for abilities it takes after, such as reality warping and plot manipulation. In different examples, any of those abilities can easily be written as more powerful than the others.

Appreciate the support! Your Spongebob video was 🔥 as well.
The research into obscure games and comic titles is always cool.
Wait? YOU! It’s really you
Mickey being "the strongest Toon in history" is completely wrong because Bugs Bunny exists.
SpongeBob and Mickey could tagteam fight him, and they'd still lose.
With that being said, I do think Mickey can take out SpongeBob - but the same could be said for SpongeBob to Mickey - its a pretty close fight (though slightly in Mickey's favor.)
Popeye has entered the Chat
Mickey,Bugs and SpongeBob:💀
Bugs Bunny can die from thinner tho, what was stated it Roger rabbit applies to any toon including bugs, but that doesn’t apply to Mickey when we see him little be able to fuse and even held by a thinner made monster in Epic Mickey
@@diegopinnhammer4083he's not as strong as either.
Pop-Eye is a toon with Universal power.
Bugs, SpongeBob, and Mickey have Multiversal power.
And Pop-Eye isn't immune to existence erasure. Which all of these 3 can do.
@@Mandismandowe saw Bugs get erased from existence and came back. The thinner wouldn't work on him.
You said it like spinach didn't exist popeyes spinach is one advantage when the time god erase he just pulls a spunach even when erase so.@@elcato8126
I think mickey wins my reasoning is Mickey have paintbrush thinner which can erase boundaries between Disney Disney have boundaries with marvel marvel high tiers like toaa are outer-boundless which upscales any feat spongebob have basically
I'm voting SpongeBob all the way.

Tune force, it’s not a power it’s just a series of gags come up by the writer for the sake of humor and time because they cannot animate every specific thing character does, because that would be costly. We understand that is the reason why and except that these guys are nothing more than beer jokes obviously Pulling things out of mid air it’s just they don’t have time to animate so we just have to suspend our disbelief to except these things we except that these are jokes not meant to be taken seriously because the cartoons tune force is not a power we I don’t know where this is coming from why people cannot accept that or getting this From but it could not be further from the truth it’s just to make you laugh nothing more because these characters are not fighters, not serious fighters like you would see in other shows, so we give them these “powers, because it’s the only thing they have that we can compare them to win this versus series
Brosky frl wrote a whole paragraph about how it's not that deep meanwhile showing how deep he thinks it isnt 😭
you must be fun at parties, you boring ahhh edgy boy
I ain't reading alllat
It's a fucking cartoon cartoon character are always doing laughs and giggles crap especially if they have toon force and it's a plotless cartoon character that's why I include stuff for cartoon characters and spongebob and mickey I'm pretty sure has feats that they don't use toon force
