I find toys today break way too easily. Especially action figures. Cheaper plastics / joints I guess.
True. But I find new Transformers toys break easily but can be fixed easily. Once a limb breaks on the old toys you gotta get some crazy glue
Silverbolt has a ramp with him in a box, he uses “scramble power” to transform into a ramp on metroplex, the flap on top of the plane nose is supposed to be a stability gear!

Here’s some cool trivia, Grapples voice actor on the G1 cartoon would later go on to voice splinter in the original Ninja Turtles cartoon from the late 80’s and 90’s plus preceptors voice actor from G1 would later go on to voice grandpa max from Ben 10.

In the first episode of the transformers g1 animated series, the scene where Cliffjumper and Ratchet save hound a character that Cliffjumper refers to as "Hauler" makes a small appearance and his robot mode is never shown just his vehicle mode. Many believe that the toy that would become Grapple was supposed to be in the 1984 line up but was saved for 1985 instead and was named Grapple. Many state that Grapple and Hauler are two separate characters but I believe that Hauler was actually Grapple and it was simply a name change for season 2. I've seen this happen sometimes in media, where a character will have a name in their first appearance and then it's changed with no explanation. Like in the G.I.Joe comics in Dr.Mindbenders first appearance in G.I.Joe #44 he was called "Dr.Brainwave" but then in his next appearance it's Mindbener with no explanation.
Oh yeah I remember that. It's kind of like how The Undertaker was introduced as "Kane The Undertaker", but then they dropped the "Kane" part. Then years later they introduce his brother Kane

The only transformers toys I had growing was from the transformers cybertron series from 2004 I think nice to see more classic era transformers in Asmr videos
The newer toys are much cooler. But there's just something about the generation 1 toys.

As we all know Cyclonus along with Galvatron, Scourge, and his three sweeps were created from the remains of Megatron, Thundercracker, Skywarp, and the Insecticons. It's undeniable that Megatron became Galvatron and it's largely accepted that Thundercracker became Scourge and Kick Back and Shrapnel became sweeps. But it's Bombshell and Skywarp that have people in a heated debate. There's debate over which one became Cyclonus and which one became Sweep #3. I've heard fans believe whole heartedly that Skywarp is Cyclonus. But I beg to differ, I actually believe that Bombshell is Cyclonus and that it's better for that. Many say that Skywarp in the first two seasons of the cartoon was way more loyal to Megatron than Bombshell and the Insecticons ever were. If you watched any episode of the cartoon with the Insecticons, you'd know the Insecticons and the other decepticons hated each other. Yes it would seem strange that someone who wasn't loyal would get a new body and become loyal, but here's the thing, even if we're to believe that Skywarp is Cyclonus, Cyclonus wasn't entirely like Skywarp. Skywarp had a cocky full of himself attitude Cyclonus was way more serious. So no matter which of the two you believe became cyclonus the characterization isn't completely consistent. My argument here is the idea of Skywarp being Cyclonus is boring to me because it's very predictable, but you take a disloyal Insecticon and turn him into a loyal jet plane that idea is fascinating to me. Plus Bombshell was the only one of the three insecticons who appeared in an episode without the other Insecticons so I think Bombshell deserves to be Cyclonus with that in mind. So yeah ever since I saw Transformers The Movie I believed that Bombshell is Cyclonus and I still believe that Bombshell is Cyclonus.
That makes sense. But who are those other guys that look like cyclonus? They were in the movie but I don't remember seeing them in season 3. I could be wrong
@@ASMRRetro That other Cyclonus is the product of an abandoned idea for the film to have Cyclonus have an armada so they established the other Cyclonus was sweep #3.
Perceptor is definitely a favorite character of mine in Transformers. To me his real stand out moment in the animated series was when he Brawn and Bumblebee went inside Megatron to get the Heart of Cybertron. In the IDW comics they committed the ultimate crime on Perceptor's livelihood, when they made him a sniper. That to me was such an insult to the character. The fact that there are fans who like that they did that to perceptor makes me sick. They say crap like "Oh it made him badass" It didn't make him badass, it's just stupid. Perceptors not supposed to be a badass tough guy, he's a scientist, Perceptor is not Deadshot!
That's a great episode. One of my favorite. Yeah not every character needs to be a badass. If he was a reluctant sniper, that could be interesting tho
@@ASMRRetro I think a transformer who’s a sniper should be a decepticon because Optimus prime is not the type who would employ snipers, at least not when he’s written how he should be, but megatron hiring a sniper, I can totally see that.

Hey Retro, there's something I feel has plagued some Transformer media but thankfully not a lot and that's great, but I don't want it to continue and I wanna get this off my chest. In the original G1 toyline there were no female Transformers due to Hasbro's sexist thoughts at the time of boys not wanting toys that were girls so you wouldn't see fan favorite characters like Alita one and Arcee get figures in the G1 toyline. In issue 52 of the marvel Transformers comic there's a scene where an alien woman wants to fall in love with Cloudburst but Cloudburst says that "the Transformers are genderless" many have used this to describe not seeing many female Transformers during that series and others. As for the Marvel series I do think that this is a really stupid development that wasn't mentioned again. My head cannon for that is Cloudburst didn't feel comfortable dating with him being a robot and was nervous and didn't know what to say so it was a little white lie. The sad thing is there are writers in Transformers who feel the need to abide by that idea of Transformers being genderless and them thinking "Well if we include female Transformers we have to go through all this Riga morale of explaining how they exist" no how about this just have female Transformers! Did you know that Arcee was considered for the first Transformers movie from 2007 but was scraped because they thought they'd have to explain it? Writers for comics keep trying to explain the existence of female Transformers and it's infuriating! What IDW did to Arcee was downright unforgivable! My point is writers of Transformers should stop feeling that Transformer should be genderless and that we have to explain how female Transformers exist! They are just abiding by Hasbro's old sexist thought process from those days instead of just moving on, it's infuriating and it needs to stop! Moral of the story is female Transformers are in Transformers to stay and they don't need an explanation.
True. I remember my female cousin loved Transformers more than I did. But back then Boys were supposed like Transformers and gijoe. Girls were supposed to like Barbie and my little pony. I also remember a Transformers episode where optimus put his "plug" into Alita 1 (I think) to "revive" her or something like that. There was definitely more than meets the eye in that scene
@@ASMRRetro oh and another thing, issues 51 through 55 were the last few issues of the marvel series written by Bob budiansky, it’s been said that while writing those issues Bob was struggling with the series because there were so many characters introduced in the series by that point. This is probably why budiansky had cloudburst say the transformers were genderless in that panel because he was exhausted and overwhelmed that he wasn’t really thinking clearly. My point is, why would future writers on transformers take an idea from a point where the writer was not in his prime? (no pun intended)
My thought process has always been this: Transformers need to talk, right? And I’m pretty sure there’s no such thing as a genderless voice. So most of them would have male voices. If we’re doing male voices, why not do female voices as well? And as long as we’re doing gendered voices, why not go all the way with gender?
