Opie & Anthony - Anthony Hates Spaceballs
Vložit
- čas přidán 30. 09. 2017
- Joe DeRosa stops by the show. They talk about Spaceballs, Dumb and Dumber, The Matrix movies plus the new and old Batman movies. Anthony can't stand Spaceballs and to this day it's still unknown if DeRosa's black friends were cool with what was said here. (10-7-12)
- Zábava
During the comb the desert part, the black guy yelling back “we ain’t found shit” makes me laugh.
I was thinking of the same thing
Every time, only shills try and make this classic unfunny. Humor is subjective and space balls is campy, yet hysterical. White shills can eat it.
"Anthony, what am I supposed to tell my Spaceball-Loving friends?" --Joe Derosa
Sam: “i watched Batman Forever the other day.....”
Derosa interrupting: “wait WaiT!! Batman forever or batman & robin?!?”
Sam: “............Batman forever”
wow I got to this comment while this was happening.
I've never seen either of those Joel Schumacher movies
Homosexual jews putting nipples and schlock into superhero movies.
To be fair those two movies really blend together
@@RupertWins then you haven’t truly _lived,_ my friend.
Anthony shitting on Spaceballs makes it even funnier to me. "Spaceballs the toilet paper! Spaceballs the flamethrower!"
Joe Derosa looks like Shaun King in that picture.
tredekka13 haha he really does, at least da rosa doesnt lie and claim to be black. ugh sean king is the worst
@Chris Sadowski goddamn the thought of you, you beat me to it.
Two words, transitions lenses
appropriate given Shaun King's existence is funnier than Derosa's entire career
Have they ever been spotted together in the same room?
Joe de Rosa looks like an AI version of Jared fogle in that thumbnail
Naked Gun and Airplane! Still hold up.
surely
Lol I still have that same 1980 humor that Airplane! used in 2021.
I watched Naked Gun for the first time and laughed my tits off.
@@have_a_good_day420 I especially love the unintended irony of the whole Police force defending OJ Simpson.
@@SixstringmanSome movies become unintentionally funnier, sadder, or more horrifying in retrospect :3
Now I want nothing more than to hear "Bane Kelly".
"You know whaaat duuude, they expect one of ush in the wreckage duuuude."
"we're gonna have a revolution duuuude, destroy gotham, trap all the cops undergroooooound"
"Let's not stand on ceremony here, duuuuude."
"And when gotham is in ashes duuuudddeee, then you have my permission to die duuuuuddddeeee."
"you knoooow what duuude, all the people in Gotham are shmarmy"
Hold My Hand
Anthony was in his fucking 20s when Spaceballs came out... he wasnt a disappointed little kid.
Anthony was a child of the 80s tho...
1:19 idk why but the way Anthony says uh-huh makes me laugh
ant doesn't like spaceballs, are joe's black friends ok with this?
“We ain’t found shit !” Is arguably the best scene of the movie
It’s not a quotable movie
@@Mothertucker666well he quoted it so apparently it is.
@@heavymetal_cutting_fabrication Anthony was 100 percent right
I question the validity of Anthony's judgement here... he's friends with DeRosa and its SPACEBALLS that sucks?!!
He's almost as unbearable as Opie.
DeRosa is hilarious.
@@confacekillah
I don't believe that you're being genuine. No one has ever claimed Joe Derosa to be hilarious. No one. Not even Joe Derosa. He's impressively unfunny.
I like Joe.
@@-Twotonepony- That’s the funniest comment I’ve ever read. I’ve never heard that way of saying someone isn’t funny 😂 OMG what a knee-slapper. Like even DEROSA doesn’t think he’s funny 😄 😂😂😂😂 imagine that? Ahh…well, you should be getting back to your Bert Kreischer playlist about now.
Harry from dumb and dumber and Opie look exactly the same to me
Same IQ level
What are you saying? Lol
Say what now?
That dumb blank expression and blonde mop top. Yes!
@@Sixstringmanlol
During one of O&A on air fights, Opie brought up Anthony’s absenteeism but there’s a hell of a lot of Nopie shows. Mind you, I ain’t complaining!
To be fair to tits, there's absolutely no comparison between the number of times he and Ant missed or was late to a show.
So was opie not here ok this clip?
I thought he was just being silent.
@@crunch9876 that's not something I think he is capable of
Those were personal days and thank you very much
@@AquaberrybackfistBut when steve c gets days off it's a big problem?
You know what movie that beats all of these they’re talking about? Office Space. C’mon, in the dream sequence when Lumberg is sipping on a coffee, raises that slender leg and talks about the memo. That’s gold.
I can’t stop laughing at Ant doing his Elvis “I’m Batman.”.
That "we can't stop, it's too dangerous" line is a classic! His delivery on it is gold
Ludacris speed go!!
There's not many people that I hate automatically because of their laugh, but DeRosa's is unbearable.
Agree 100% Derosa is awful
I couldn't agree more! Spaceballs is a hackfest bore! IT SUCKS! I have NEVER understood people's fascination with that piece of garbage! Thank you Ant!
29:13 "I didn't care that he was in this dumb jail, and he had to climb out, and they're all yelling some dumb 'climb out' chant"
such a good segment, didn't know joe was so funny and then realized OPIE wasn't on here!
I love a good Nopie episode.
They're the best. They're effectively podcasts, which unsurprising killed talk radio.
7:45 completely wrong. Dumb and Dumber is hilarious. They gave a blind kid a dead bird.
It’s not funny.
Never thought it was very funny, maybe laughed once or twice. Ants right may be most overrated movie ever.
"If you say Spaceballs makes you mad I'm gonna walk out of here" - Joe DeRosa
Proceeds to 'not' walk out. It's like having one of the callers in the room.
DeRosa hates the hair pick in the desert joke.
it's just one of those movies that people find funny or not. Like The Naked Gun movies... though i've rewatched those recently and they really hold up.
Batman Returns was crazy because Tim Burton, Crazy bastard that he is, made a Batman movie that focused on the Villain instead of Batman
Naked Gun is untouchable. 😊
i saw Spaceballs when I was 6 or 7. It's rated PG. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a kids movie, maybe not 7 year olds since it's a Starwars spoof but its definitely for kids.
dumb and dumber when he hits hus buddy with with the cane was funny
Pretty bird... pretty bird.
That started a painful game with my friends, but that was a damn funny part
I never understood what Anthony saw in Joe Derosa. Yeah, he can move conversation along on the radio but that voice and that LAUGH…it makes me wanna eat my own fingers
Blazing Saddles is amazing.
Spaceballs sucks. Its not funny, and because its too specific of a spoof. Blazing Saddles spoofs on many movies and is funny minute to minute. 1980s Mel Brooks movies are horrible
Mr. Freeze wasn't a good villain until he was given a reboot in the animated series where they introduced his tragic backstory
Right
Dorks love this movie. The kind of dork who would go around saying, "We are the knights who say.....NEEEE!"
It was especially stupid when that guy started saying "You can't hurt me. Not with my cheese helmet!"
Meh, go fuck yourself. It's funny.
I bet you enjoy terrible stuff you dont realize is bad. Lets complain about people having opinions because I dont know my opinion could be perceived as terrible. Jesus just state what you hate. Dont try to justify it because again its an opinion.
@@spacecab1 '...you don't realize is bad'! Lol, looks like the skater punks too cool for school never really left school! 😂
@@eflem77 damn right it is.
This was the best episode
Is it just me or does Derosa try to imitate Patrice when he’s on O&A?
Nicholas Joost Derosa is a hack and he stinks
Nicholas Joost I thought he was trying to be Justin Trudeau
@@georgedudleysashtray3860 lol Patrice was a Boston comic
I wish he would imitate modern day Patrice
“Stop you’re ruining space balls for me” is literally DeRosa trying to have a Faceoff bit. You’re 100% on this.
"What's the matter colonel Sanders, chicken? "
Wow, I never knew so many people hated Joe Derosa.
This fanbase hates everything. Miserable people the lot of ya.
"and I didn't even have a revelation that it was bad, I've known it was bad" 😂😂😂
"Metaphorical...I don't know if that's a word" - Joe DeRosa
Comb the dessert is just a setup joke for when u see the black guy combing it with a Afro pic and says "We ain't found shit". Space balls is hilarious and definitely quotable.
FAWK YEAH
The best line in spaceballs is when Rick Moranis says, "boy, I bet she gives great helmet"
“Hold it! I’ll handle this personally….”
“Yah vol lord helmet!!”
I love that Rick curses in Spaceballs lol
I've had this same opinion ever since I first saw space balls. I don't understand why people like it. Young Frankenstein and blazing saddles still hold up but space balls is fucking trash
Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles and History of The World pt.II are the top three Mel Brooks films. I’ll watch those films for the rest of my life.
Spaceballs wasn’t terrible but it was definitely the beginning of the end for Brooks. Not nearly as good as Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, or History of the World Part 1.
The entire movie had the exact same quality and feel as the ‘funny’ shit you normally see after credits.
that Jam gag is the only part of it I actually remember. and I wasn't impressed by it when I was a kid.
Anthony did to DeRosa here what Norton did to Patrice in their argument about Faceoff.
Ruined Face-off for me...
39:27 Yimmy asks “how much trouble would I get in?”
what's with the Patrice impression that starts at 3:15 and continues for a few minutes?
Damn... I was hoping Jimmy would do some of his 'Bobby Kelly as Bane' imitation
Sam talking in this segment killed it for me, just thought everyone should know
"Prepare the Ship...for Ludicrous Speed"
Not funny.
Spaceballs was the beginning of the Mel Brookes decline. It stunk.
I don't agree that it stunk but Brooks would indeed create some truly bad films afterwards. I think his problem was, he limited himself to Hollywood focused parodies and dumbed down his work in order to attract a wide audience. What also hurt is he never could get a good leading man in his work after Gene Wilder. Brooks tried carrying his films himself but he wasn't really a good actor or leading man. He was much better in supporting comedic parts.
Also I wish Ant and Jim would do a show once a week on the Compound Network (or whatever the fuck it's called) where they just talked about movies. Old, new, whatever. I'd actually pay so I could hear that. It wouldn't conflict too much with Jimmy's schedule either and we all get Ant and Jim doing a consistent show together again. It's a win for everyone.
The ship has sailed on Jim ever working with Anthony again
This is the best Sam has ever been, save the Intern David and Bobo years
The left side of my head immediately hurts when I hear fucking Derosa’s laugh. Not sure if it’s him or I’m getting ready to have a stroke.
I rarely agree with Cumia but he is spot on
Spaceballs suuuucks. I watched it once as a kid at my aunt and uncle's and even then I remember thinking it was boring and unfunny
DeRosa's laugh absolutely grates.
Yimmy comes in around 27:03
Holy Shit, "History Of The World Part 1" is Fucking Amazing, A Fucking Classic!
I could picture Craig Shenkel doing the new Michael Keaton Batman
This is like a proto-Taste Buds ep. Anthony would be amazing on that pod
My Cousin Vinny. Greatest comedy ever!
Spaceballs the flamethrower, the children love it
Robin says to Batman, "holy homosexual bat nipples batman."
Joey pantaleone is the poor man's bruno kirby, and bruno kirby is the poor man's joe pesci lol
SpaceBalls is the most UN-FUNNY movie of all time. It is. 100%.
Totally agree with Anthony. I never thought it was funny. Even The year it was released it felt like something they put on in the Day room at a nursing home. I can’t believe the same guy that made “Blazing Saddles “ made this piece of crap.
It's one of those movies you loved as a kid but only slightly held up as an adult. I'm 40. I watched it recently with my two daughters 12 and 9... Wasn't AS funny as when I was younger. Same as UHF.
i kinda agree with Anthony on this, i've always liked Men in Tights better
This is how I feel about DBZA and Team Four Star in my generation.
I want to see Blazing Spaceballs, the Helmet on horseback would be pretty funny.
As a parody movie Spaceballs is better than Scary Movie 5 or Movie 43
it's like saying this dog shit tasted way better than those two mentioned.
that's not saying much.
Movie 43 is still considered one of the worst movies ever made, yes?
Yes it is, but movie 43 is a literal WASTE OF TIME.
@@cohaagen90 I think thats the point. Parody movies arent good.
Totally agree, every Mel Brooks film before it is great, Spaceballs is his first garbage movie.
Yeah, I know Spaceballs is bad. I accept that, but I will always have affection for that movie cos I saw it as a little kid and loved it.
Right there with him. I love other Mel Brooks movies. But I hate that one
blazing saddles and young Frankenstein were two of my favorite movies. I was so excited when I heard mel brooks was going to do a satire of star wars. I saw spaceballs and hated every second of it. and all my friends think it is the greatest movie ever
@MasterRace88 I agree, I don't get the appeal.
@@harrydubois5951MasteRace is the biggest douchebag in the O and A comments.
Everytime he runs his d**k licker he says something dumb.
Can’t y’all be entertained by man having a different opinion than you. It’s not like the movie is going to go into a deep depression.
What Anthony said about The Matrix can be said about The Matrix Resurrections
DeRosa and his Jackie Martling laugh
Jackie at least sound like a adult male.
Was wondering why this clip was so great.....Opie isn't in it!
Also, Ant loves callers 22:40
I've never watched that movie to the end
Same here. I've never been able to finish it.
Spaceballs was OK but it is on the bottom of my list of favorite Mel Brooks movies. Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, The Producers, History of the World, The 12 Chairs and To Be Or Not Be, and High Anxiety go before it.
Robin Hood Men in Tight is better film also in my opinion.
oh I agree soooo much
Enjoyed Space Balls when I was a kid. It's a shit movie though looking back. It's certainly not Caddyshack 2 though.
NO OPIE LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO
I'm kinda iffy about it, because Rick Moranis's little wimpy, girly Darth Vader character that gets thrown around and bullied like a kid even though he's the #2 of a giant empire is hilarious, that inclusion of his character genuinely makes me laugh every time. When you take out Moranis, the movie goes from a 4 or 5 to a 1, he is the entire comedic base of the movie.
I agree that Moranis is half the movie.
“Maaaaaan.... we ain’t found shit!”
Hilarious- what’s this pimple face talking about
Uma Thurman as poison ivy is still one of the hottest characters to me. Terrible film but God damn she was sexy.
The only phone calls that were ever good were Patrice giving dating advice
aw cmon the comb gag is hiliarious, panning over from the big comb to a fro com being held by two black spaceballs. GOLD.
We ain't found shit!
It's a little funny but I guess it depends what mood your im at the moment.
Drossaand his Hyuk hyuk laugh
Best Star Wars movie ever. [mic drop] [audience cheers]
Spaceballs isn't great but its not horrible either.
Spaceballs is not on Caddyshack 2 level.
Space balls is made for children
“Man! We ain’t found sheeit!”
