Ok, in the world of terrible remakes I would actually love to see an interpretation where Rambo and the cops become buddies and then they use his trap making abilities to Home Alone style save the town from an evil real-estate developer.
He was tired of getting kicked out of towns, this little sheriff was the straw that broke the camel's back. I would've busted them up as well. I'm a vet and know this feeling, I never served in combat but people look at you strange.

The sheriff and his asshole deputy served together in Korea. They don't reference it in the movie except for some photos on the wall of the jail.
