@@chocolatethesceptile Yes, it is. It has always been fire-ground. If yo look at the Bulbapedia page for it and, say a Pokemon that was given Fairy type in Gen 6, the fairy type will have a line on it's page like "Prior to Gen (number), it was a (Insert type here)". No such line for Camerupt.
You know Michael, you shouldn’t feel bad about not purposefully making a challenge more difficult for yourself. Personally, it’s just as entertaining watching how you plan out your strategy for these runs and use some Pokémon who don’t get a lot of screen time otherwise.
Also I totally resonate with the “this is hard enough!!” Mentality. I’ve tried Pokémon challenges and I...I feel your pain 😂

Quick tidbit for you all: Disable is 55% accurate in this generation. It's definitely not a viable option against Double Team spam since he'd also need to land this _after_ the first Double Team.

Feel like a lot of the struggles you had in this playthrough could’ve been solved with the usage of Alakazam’s Disable. Disable the HELL out of Double Team!

@@vishwak09 It does have to use the move you want to Disable first, but I see this as viable.
true, but it only lasts 4 turns - it wasn't consistently spamming the annoying moves (unless disable had hit after one double team) so disabling another move like surf would only have made more double teams even more likely
could just not level them up to stop them learning the moves then use tm/hm to teach them moves in no move slots.
Disable has 55% accuracy in this game and that's not including the fact that these Pokémon would need to use Double Team first. And it's not permanent. This is frankly not worth trying.

My opinion on using revives, is simple unless you make it as a rule for yourself, I say use it. Plus revives are just another form of a potion
if you want to do a play though a Pokemon game without healing items for it.

When I got surprised that torkoal didn't miss any move, I remembered it's ability bypassed stat changes(that being white smoke I think). I remembered it becuase MDB mentions it in some challenges.

Sturdy pre-gen 5 only works on moves that state that they OHKO something. Literally doesn't protect against one use ko moves like x4 S.E. moves until Gen 5.

And this is with no new moves but he teached castform god know how many moves and how many times

the reason Torkoal never missed was cause it's ability is White Smoke, which prevents stat lowering, meaning Mud Slap couldn't lower it's accuracy at all.

Fun fact a level ball has an incredibly high catch rate against Abras. Around 95-100% under level 20.
