- I get questions here and there like "how do you organize a kitchen?". To me, kitchen organization is one of the most important things you need have in any kitchen. It makes cooking less messy, faster, and more fun to do. This is especially important for those who want to cook more often. In this video I have 10 ways/tips and tricks that are super easy to pull off. Nothing too fancy, just plain old efficiency and thought.

He left out where we should keep our audience. I know he keeps his in a cupboard but that’s where my cups go
I kept mine under the sink but they stay fresher in the pantry.
we live with the bowls

Mine are in the freezer, I think I killed them.
Asian Muffin they don’t freeze well
Before: My kitchen is so messed that I don't have the motivation to start cooking.
After: My kitchen is so organized that I don't want to mess it up again by cooking.

Haaa 😂😂
Been looking for practical kitchen organizing tips, this video was perfect!
Something I've found are incredibly useful for organization: tension rods. If you have a large open space above your sink with cabinets on either side, like you do in your kitchen, get a tension rod and put it up there. Get some hooks and you can hang frequently used utensils from it. Might look a bit cluttered to some, but I like the aesthetic. Makes it super quick and easy to grab a tool, and makes cleanup easier too, since you can just hang it right back up on the hook instead of worrying about a dish strainer. Done with your spatula? Give it a quick hand wash and throw it back on the hook.
You can also put them in large cabinets, like the one under your sink. Put a tension rod up near the top of the cabinet, then you can hang bottles of cleaning fluids from the trigger.
Feel like you accidentally skipped the most important part,
Step1: Have a gigantic amazing kitchen
thaitichi I have an apartment sized kitchen which means I have one pair of cabinets, and one counter top. I definitely am frustrated by my cooking space very often but I do not let it stop me. Not to say I wouldn’t prefer a nice kitchen like his , I’m just saying if you really want something you don’t let obstacles deter you from doing what you like to do. 😃

It amazes me that apartment designers tend to make the kitchen the most compact space that they can, cramming as much in as they can at the cost of functionality.
And for what? An extra half foot by six feet of room in the living area?
I need that for counter space and cabinets, damnit!
thats not large ... my kitchen is 3 times the size of his
@@levigriffin5553 ikr my kitchen is a tiny ass galley kitchen but the room over to it is a huge ass bathroom.
@@unguidedone I'd like to inform you that most of the US lives in a city, where a studio that's only twice the size of his kitchen is $1500/mo.
1:18 Josh categorizes us as either plates/bowls and measuring cups or misc.
I just moved and was literally looking for a video to listen to while organizing my kitchen. Perfect timing!
Happy to help!
How does this guy only have 27k subs he better than most food channels
I found your comment a month later, but looks like he's more than doubled that number! It's 12/27/18 and he has 67k now =)
HEY JESS CHAMBERS 2 weeks later and he's up another 10k!
Which video did CZcams show people that his followers tripled??
8 months later and his subs dectipled
Well one year later it’s like 700k so I am happy af for the guy
Pleaaaase do another one about organizing all the appliances 🙌🏼 coffee maker, food processor, blender, etc...
Right!!! I have more trouble with that. After i moved to north America, i notice that one thing only does only thing..... Like.....!!!
Yes.. want to know that is it okay to throw away their packages or should I keep them to store electronic appliances..
Yeah I was like uhh. Where the coffee maker and toaster and microwave??
@@crystalchen5680 Got to look for all-in-ones. Ninja likes to do things like that with blenders, toaster ovens, slow cookers, etc. Also, a Kitchenaid stand mixer is invaluable
I only have my coffee maker on the counter. Everything else fits in my cupboards. And if I get an appliance that doesn't fit in my cupboards, I get rid of something. I'm lucky I have a pretty big pantry area so I don't have to put food in my cupboards, though.
efficiency = less stress
*so many thumbs up*
"We need to start cooking more" YES! I'm not too tired. I'm just lazy and to be quite honest my health is suffering because of that laziness. So today I made a vegan chili and I feel better for it.
Hey That's fantastic! Cooking is an addictive process, you just gotta get those wheels rollin! The more you cook the more you're going to want to cook. Might as well make it as easy on yourself as possible during that process. :)
Life is busy, but if you cook in larger batches (takes basically the same time) you can freeze for later use. Makes my life SO much easier!
👏👏👏
Sarah Eat meat you’ll feel better and do more.
@@janonthemtn no it'll make you feel worse and sit around bc you feel bloated
Your kitchen is so perfect. I love the design. SO aesthetically pleasing!
I would love a "how to time a meal" video. There must be some rules of thumb. But I always seem to finish a side early or time my meat to rest too long so it's almost cold when everything else is ready.
From my own experience, I always think about/ look up how long something will take before I start cooking anything. Let’s say I’m making a chili, with rice and a side of broccoli. The chili will take the longest (let’s imagine 40 minutes). Then, the rice will take 17 minutes, so after the first 20 minutes of chili cooking, I’ll start the rice. Then, boiling the broccoli will take about 7 minutes, so the last 7 minutes of the rice and chili I will start the broccoli. I’ll do all this thinking, and also all of my food prep (chopping, measuring) before I begin. This way, when things need to get cooked, you can dump them in and move on.
I know this is a) not a video and b) not the creator of this video, and c) 6 months late, but I hope it was somewhat helpful nonetheless.
YES! This would be awesome. I try, but I still manage to mess this up regularly.
Celery takes longer than onions or carrots. That takes care of mirepoux and soffreto
In "foods & nutrition" class in school, we had to write out what would be done in what order & how long it would take and prepare all our ingredients (wash, chop, measure, etc) before starting to cook. It became a habit. Now, I just make a mental list (unless it's a big meal like thanksgiving, or something) but it helps & having everything ready to go makes such a difference! No burning stuff while you read the recipe (again!) and finish chopping those carrots...
I think it's important to remember that it's okay to move things to where they work best for you. Just because you put the dishes in this certain cupboard when you moved in doesn't mean they have to go there if it's not working for you. Experiment, move things, it's your kitchen, make it work for you
This is good for all over the house. If you move in and next year you want to move your couches, your tables. Move them!
I love your videos! You inspire my home cooking and I love your style. Recently, I designed a garage apartment with the kitchen on these principles. Had a tough time with the small eating/prep area, then decided to use a stainless countertop height prep table on wheels with a little storage underneath for the table. It works great with a few bar height stools, and frankly it was cheaper than a regular table.
The dollar store has shelf inserts, they work pretty well for lighter items and are quite affordable. You can build your own lazy Susan out of some pie tins and marbles. Basically just sandwich the marbles between a pair of pie tins and the tin should rotate around relatively easily.
Also get a labelmaker and label the shelves and containers with what goes in them. It's especially helpful if your spouse isn't quite on board with all of it or your mother-in-law comes over and is putting things away.
I'd love more guides like these! I just started preparing more advanced meals for myself and these tips will really help! (I accidentally had all the things I needed for cooking emergencies like plates, utensils, oven mitts, and pot lids, SO far away from the stove and it caused some spills!)
Your videos are amazing man. I enjoy every single one and you’re improving our kitchen/skills/life so much! Thank you! Appreciate it 👍

It may have to wait until a different time of year, but it would be really awesome if you did some kind of a guide about produce and how to pick good produce. This guide was awesome! It’s amazing what people don’t know about their kitchen.
Thank you so much for this video. Everything is so nice and organized.I hate clutter and it’s nice to have containers for everything.Congratulations!
I have watched over hundred kitchen and pantry organization videos. I don't yours the best and I will be copying your layout for my kitchen and will get my brother to built me that kind of rolling table. I have been planning on a straight kitchen layout due to space. Thank you so much. This video totally has inspired me to have a nice life with simple and easy ways of organization. Very simple pantry but very clean and good looking.
Hi Joshua, thank you for your practical guidelines and I got inspirations from you.Lately I shifted to my 602 sq ft. apartment and started a life of my own. When I stepped inside,I realised I should set up the kitchen section a little bit.In terms of how to organise lots of things in a proper way so that I could utilise the limited space when I host parties at home or invite friends over here.Try to make it a charging point more functional and comfortable.
God bless you for making this video. Organization is SO important, in every aspect, but you don't hear a lot of people explain it in the kitchen. So this was helpful!

I just subbed and I love your message! I feel the same way about cooking more. I try to show people I work with how easy it is and how much money you save. And if you give it some extra love, you can have restaurant quality.

@Mos Illest indians use english (United Kingdom). It is advice. HAH!
