As a guitar player you might be interested in how awesome their guitar player is. And that's very visible in Nightwish's tribute to Pink Floyd. The song is called High Hopes, also with Marko singing.
You would probably like their unplugged version of How's The Heart through Planet Rock. It's just Troy on guitar and Floor singing. 😊
Troy Donockley played the low whistle, and the female backing vocal here was the amazing Floor Jansen.
And because each whistle has a quite limited range, he had a bucket of them beside him 😂.

Floor Jansen (seen here) has been lead singer since late 2012.
I think the audience at this show was 24,000.

There has been a lot of changes in the band throughout the years from 1996 until today. And even though the music they have created is VERY diverse, the one constant is that it has always been distinctly Nightwish.
The mastermind behind 95% of the songs is Tuomas (on keys), but this song is (mostly) written by Marko (Bass/singer).

Marco is actually the bass player in Nightwish. Empu is the guitarist in the band.
Yes that is the latest female lead singer, Floor Jansen and Marko is the bassist who also can play guitar. Troy on low whistle also plays various wind and string instruments but lead guitarist, Emppu, not present in this song.
Marco actually bassist for Nightwish, but also obviously can play guitar, as does Troy the flutist, but NW guitarist is Empuu
The split is mostly that when semi-acoustic guitar is needed, it's Marko, for full electric sound it's Emppu.
Marko's formal music education was on classical guitar.

Although started as lead guitar he switched to bass and Emppu Vuorinen, a modern great of the guitar but unrecognised, is the Nightwish lead guitar.
But Marco does pull out The Beast from time to time, as here.
For some weird guitar sounds, try Elvenjig/Rlvenpath. Buenos Aires 2018 is the standard but in Bogota uou can see how they are being made, lits of good close up.

First there was Tarja, then they had Annette and after that they got the best and current singer Floor Jansen who is in this video.
some other great bands that you could cover would be symphony x or the band Kamelot, with their original vocalist Roy Kahn. Their current vocalist is also incredibly talented as well and brings a lot to the band, but Roy had the voice of a god. Both bands have extremely talented band members in all aspects, both instrumental and vocal.
