He's freaking out because he's getting a massive 7x return on his investment. He's spending 2.5k gp to get 16k worth of coffer storage, which essentially makes any future deaths 7x cheaper to buy your gear back. For someone who apparently plans to die a lot lol, it would be extremely beneficial. Lots of cost savings. Kind of a silly oversight on Jagex's end

It's better if you start making tablets using Pharao's Sceptre, you can make ~800 tablets/h and sell them for 5-6k ea depands on the actual price. That means you can earn 3,6-4,4 m /h and only costs you like ~500k. With 2 accounts with perfect clicking it's able to get like 8-9m/h.... I recommend to make Carrallangar tablets. AND ITS PRETTY AFK!

So youd trade your valuables thinking you were getting a rare item worth more, but you were just getting screwed. I wonder if there are any items left like that on the ge that could be used for this. Deaths coffer doesn't accept items worth less than 10k. The reason why Kharyll tele was accepted and the rest weren't is because that one was over 10k.
pretty sure the coffer doesn't accept items with a price lower than 10k per item, thats why it didn't accept some of the tele tabs in the end, not because they were banned by jagex
To everyone who is laughing at afriend for putting so much money into his coffer, I wouldn't doubt that Jagex eventually raises the death tax 10x-20x fold in the future, because money sinks are the most important thing for the game's long term health and right now it barely costs anything to claim your gear back.
This is why I think OSRS needs Invention. It is an excellent item/GP-sink. It even gives value to junk items, I literally drop almost nothing now-a-days if I can disassemble it to get invention materials. Of course I know it'd never pass a poll(I also acknowledge it'd need a lot of work to be a good fit for OSRS), but a man can dream.

It is because high alching is low xp per hour, combat magic xp tends to be a lot higher. General rule of thumb(especially at lower levels) is that higher GP per hour=less XP per hour, but higher XP per hour=less GP per hour.
