Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies Recipe
(About 24+ cookies)
Dry ingredients:
7.5oz all purpose flour (about 1 2/3 cups)
** Used 2.5 cups flour once and batter was slightly drier, but cookies still equally good! Hubby prefers more. **
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
Wet ingredients:
10.5oz brown sugar (about 1.5 cups)
1 cup creamy peanut butter (about 250g)
2 Tbs honey
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 Tbs melted butter
2 eggs
1/2 cup roasted peanuts (chopped)
Whisk together dry ingredients.
Whisk together wet ingredients.
Add dry to wet ingredients.
Fold until just combined.
Add roasted peanuts.
Scoop and roll into ball.
Flatten to 2 inch diameter.
Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes (rotate halfway)
Made these and SO good! Best PB cookies. ATKs scientific recipes are good for a reason. Make these! 👍😎🤩
Thank you!!!
Thank you!
Thanks Gloria Lee
Just want to thank you for posting the recipe
273 g brown sugar
45g honey
53g butter
216g flour
Erin, thanks so much for the science of saturated/unsaturated fat ratios. I never really knew why some baked goods differed in crisp-to-chewy comparisons.
I always thought it was more brown sugar. And then of course added more peanut butter. Nope, lol wrong way.
@@beththomas2222 I thought it was the brown sugar too.
Baked this recipe with my husband this afternoon. Placed a Hershey kiss on the warm cookies while cooling.
The cookies are so good! We will definitely make them again.
I actually made these without peanuts- they are amazing-- thank you
its irritating you cant just go to the website and print recipe without signing up. So, you go back through and take notes to get details. ALL other sites allow you to actually see and print recipes.
That's their business model. They don't take advertising dollars, so their product reviews are unbiased. To make up that shortfall, they need to bill you.
At least they do mention the amounts! They really don't even need to do that!
@@kdmdlo It is annoying. Easy fix though, don’t follow ATK.
@@sassyt1545 You're confused. I wasn't complaining. I'm fine with it. It's their business model. Debi was the one who was annoyed.
@@aaron74 yeah i hate recipes that include the amounts. Guessing is always better
These turned out really great. I used half dark brown sugar half light because I ran out of dark. Still came out delicious! 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
These are now my go-to peanut butter cookie! Chewy and delish!
1) If you don’t have the “Adjust-a-cup”, coat your utensils with cooking spray before measuring the peanut butter and honey. The food will come out easy and cleaner.
2) The dough looks very wet/oily as compared to other cookie doughs.
3) I used a #40 (1.5 TBSP) scoop and baked 10 minutes. Cookies were between 2.5”-3” wide. Perfect!
4) 4:50 why bother rolling the cookies into a ball when you’re just going to turn around and flatten them out?
5) Finally, the bottom of my 1/4 cup measure is almost exactly 2” wide. I just pressed the cookies down with the measuring cup until I saw the edge of the dough around the bottom of the cup. Perfect!
Omg, I was already loving this video, but then Erin brings out her mom?! Delight overload! When these at-home vids started, nearly two years after the start of the pandemic, and shortly after all the other YT cooks seemed to be heading back to food studios (BATK; Food52, et.), I wondered if ATK had missed the mark. But I *love* seeing my favorite chefs in their own real, normal, non-sexy kitchens. These kitchens (and tools) feel like mine (except I have a very messy kitchen), and it feels like I get to peep inside of their lives a little bit. And as much as I adore Bridget and Julia, it's great meeting other cooks and product reviewers on a regular basis. Keep up the good work; keep inviting ur moms (and dads) over. 15/10: highly recommend ATK channel and recipes.
I made this recipe and it was so good I made a double batch for the Church pot luck Sunday, thanks .
That folding action is so PRO! So nice to see your mother join you, thank you two for sharing with us!
I'm so glad that you're able to have your mom on the show! I miss my mother so much. Embrace her every day!
Made these cookies this afternoon. It is a very simple recipes and I appreciate that you mentioned to turn the cookies half way through baking. I’ve never heard that before and I’m really amazed how that step helps to make perfect cookies. First time I’ve made them and they are delicious! Thanks for a great cookie.
I baked your Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies twice already. Everybody loves them!! Thank you so much for the recipe, Erin!! Best wishes to you & your Mom!! ❤ from Malaysia

That's for British People, now do the translation for all Non-Americans.
@@pavelow235 To the extent you figured that out, perhaps you can do the translation for non-Americans and non-UK'ers?
@@aaron74 Hey, don't shoot the messenger you could have worded it as "....from an American to all the Limey's out there...."
Awesome, thanks! Way easier to weigh peanut butter than measure in a cup.
Thanks from Canada. Go Metric! And measuring the peanut butter by weight is soooo much easier!! One small correction for the vanilla. The recipe calls for 1 teaspoon or 5 ml (not 14 ml).
These ingredients folded together perfectly and it’s no lie… These are the best peanut butter cookies you’ll ever eat!
I will definitely try this recipe! You are so right about using the correct type peanut butter. I only buy Adams natural, and tried making cookies with it...yuck. Now I see why. You really have to use Jif or Skippy type to make good ones.
Jif and Skippy will harden your arteries.
Such a good video. Not only did you teach us to make the cookies but you gave me a better understanding of baking chemistry. Thank you!
Love when you explain the how and what an ingredient does to the recipe
This is an excellent instructional. Great explanations and precise baking procedures. Again, like in all things culinary, the better you want your product to come out, the more attention to detail you must pay. Seriously.
These look great. Thanks for the peanut butter tips.
Nice to see ATK back to a pleasant straight forward approach. No jokes, innuendo. or foolishness. Ty
Mom is adorable!!
Love Erin! And her mom appearing was a nice surprise! 2 fabulous ladies!
Just made these and they are delicious!!!!!!
Those look so yummy.
So tender and delicious! Best peanut butter cookies ever.
Thank you for this recipe. I just made them and I substituted the egg with Just egg and they were FANTASTIC. THANK YOU!!
I just baked a double batch of these up today, and they seem to be a big hit with my family. Thank you for a great recipe!
Love this new format at home with one chef
You and your mom are lovely ❤️great recipe can’t wait to try it 😊
Look so good!
That was great! Well done Erin
I tried this recipe and it was a huge hit with all my friends. So good. Thank you Erin!!!
I am a fan of Erin's segments. She is an excellent cook.
Erin is one of if not my FAVORITE chefs on this show. Great recipe that I can't wait to try and you have an awesome MOM.
We just don't get to see Erin often enough....and yeah, great cookies! And yea Mom too!
She tends to mix a lot of recipes by hand, which is nice to see on ATK.
Fantastic presentation! Excellent work! I'm going to make!
It's awesome having your mom with you in this fun video beautiful thing.😘😊
They look so good 😊
Yes! Thank you!
So much great info in this video. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing your memories
This is just what I was looking for. I have always preferred cookies with this texture. I'm headed into the kitchen now. Thanks Erin!!
Thank you for this recipe🥹 The cookies came out delicious and beautiful❤️❤️💕
This lady is so nice, the way she talks is very soothing and comforting. Great recipe though, I looove peanut butter!
Just made them there awesome thanks for sharing your recipe 😀
Very well done best I've seen can't wait to try it thank you.
I think peanut proteins binding to water might explain why my peanut sauces for noodles always end up gloopy and thick instead of creamy! 😅
Thanks for another great recipe 😀
Made these cookies and they taste so good.
I'm new to ATK been watching for a couple of years now - love it. thank you. happy holidays
Definitely trying these cookies. You are my favorite on the show
Great cookies. Yummy
Blessings to you for teaching us about the saturated fats . As a new "inventor in the kitchen" didn't know this ! Thank God for people like you.
I'm glad that more and more channels, like ATK, and embracing the approach of weighing ingredients. There really is no excuse not to weigh ingredients these days. Scales are cheap, it's more accurate, and you don't need to dirty a bunch of cup measurements.
Still waiting for the day when we switch to metric
@@7HPDH specially for baking.
@@7HPDH Absolutely! I convert all my recipes to grams.
It worked perfectly fine for thousands of years the other way, I see no reason to over complicate it now with more gadgets and time.
@@akadventurer7563 no, you will have fewer gadgets because you can get rid of your bulky measuring cups
Made these and they were a big hit at a Xmas party. I also took them when I visited my brother and they loved them. Best peanut butter cookie ever.❤
I've made these twice in the last 5 days, they are so delicious. My favorite recipe.
Thanks for sharing, can't wait to make this cookies!
OMGoodness!!! You look exactly like your mom!! Cannot wait to try these! Ordering my kitchen scale!! ❤️
I Love me some peanut butter cookies thanks Erin .😘😊
The special was guest everything! I wish my mom was around to make oatmeal cookies!
Why tell people they can "go to the recipe" when, unless you're a member the recipe is blurred out...why not be honest and state that you need to be a member to see it!
I know right
This makes me so mad when influencers do this if I wanted to be a member I would have already done so however all I want to do is make some dang peanut butter cookies!!!! She can keep her precious recipe there’s lots of other influencers who freely gives their recipe!!!!!
She does give you all the ingredients in the video….just pause the video and write them down and you have your recipe!
Just wondering if anybody else has made these as per her recipe and they are so goopy there’s no way you could make a ball unless you add more flour boy I hope it works or America’s test kitchen really sucks
I don’t even want to make the cookies anymore
I want the receipe for peanut butter cookie from our school cafeteria. 1970's when bakers were in school kitchens.
I really loved this recipe. This one will be my new favorite. I tweaked only 2 things. I omitted the chopped nuts and I browned (then cooled) the butter. Insanely delicious!
So sweet! Wonderful video!
Such a cute video, what a sweet mom
Best peanut butter cookies I have ever made!
Yes Thankyou!
Lovely!
I’ll be trying these soon.
I’m making these in the next day or so, can’t wait because they look amazing! You found the right person to make them for, nice to see your mom👏💯
My favorite cookie is peanut butter cookies. Thanks for the recipe.
I'm a bit late 😊and just found this recipe. These cookies are delicious! Perfectly chewy! Thank you for this recipe! I will be making more, to individually wrap and freeze, so I have a grab n go snack ... I'm trying to avoid spending money and I often get hungry when I'm out running errands. ❤
Just pulled out my first batch. Wish I could post a picture. They're beautiful and my kids are quiet. So they're also delicious. Thank you!
Wow those look good, I'm going to try to make these, thanks for the recipe.
Thank you,

OMGGGGGGG I LOVE THIS RECIPE I TRIED IT ITS SOOOO GOOD THIS IS THE BESSSSST
Made these cookies- they were delicious!
Nicely done, Erin! Those cookies look very tasty! 👍👍
OMG delicious ❤ I’ve already made them twice for gifts 🎁
These cookies are amazing- she mentioned water but never used any from what I saw, so I didn’t either. They are perfectly chewy just the way I like them!
Awesome recipe those peanut butter cookies looks delicious 🥮🥮🥮
*MY FAVORITE 😍*
I make these cookies every chance I get and they never fail to impress at any potluck, holiday party, etc.
Thanks❤
I love these cookies
Boy, I wish I would have found your video yesterday. Everything you said happen to my batch of cookies last night. I used too much peanut butter thinking it will make the cookies more rich and flavorable, and they came out dry and crumbly because I did exactly what you said NOT TO DO...lol. Thank You as I will be now using your recipe from now on.
I use more butter n brown sugar when adding more peanut butter! Brown sugar is your key ingredient to keep your cookies moist! It works everytime!
Instead of using the adjust-a-cups and having extra utensils to wash, weigh the peanut butter and honey. The bowl is literally on the scale!
This is how all bulk ingredients should be measured out. This lady does this right. Always portion your dry bulk ingredients by weight not volume. Why? Because brown sugar can lose moisture and flour particles can settle and lose trapped air. Sifted flour has about 25% more air trapped in it compared to settled flour. If your bag of brown sugar is drying out and getting bricked you can revive it with a few drops of water. Let the water permeate the brown sugar overnight. Repeat this the next morning with a few more drops of water if the brown sugar still feels lumpy when you squeeze the bag. Absolutely love those Adjust-A-Cups for measuring wet sticky ingredients.
Why not weigh your sticky ingredients? Easier yet!
OH that looks good I am having visions of adding Butterscotch chips to the mix.
That's a cool PB measuring tool.
Tip: add brown butter instead of melted butter, it takes it to another level.
Thank you for the amazing recipe. The hardest part is not eating them all as they are delicious!
You look a lot like your mom. My mom( may she rest in peace) made great peanut butter cookies. I'm dying to try these.
I love them
