      This car is not fast at all. That being said, it will get you out of a pickle when needed specially when you press the sport button 7:36. OP has too much stuff on the roof and it’s also lifted. This May affect how it drives at high speeds. Remember, most people don’t lift their cars to race at high speeds in a highway, we got ours lifted to go through the back roads and mountainside. We drove our Impreza 2.0 and our Crosstreck 2.0 at speeds 55-90 MPH from NC to WA and back to VA without any hiccups. Cheers!

    • @mattevans1643
      @mattevans1643 Před 2 lety +4

      You can do it yourself. But if you don't plan on keeping the car, or you are looking to keep some upsell value later on, service records are a good idea. Although i would always recheck what they do. I have 50k miles and never took it to Suburu for anything. The guy who ownwd it before me put about 30k on it. And the oil pan bolt had no head when i went to change the oil the first time. You don't need an impact for everything. Always check that they aren't stripping bolts and just leaving them in, because they're lazy. The car had only been serviced by Suburu, and hasn't been back to them since i bought it, because i don't trust another mechanics work over my own. You can change all the fluids on your own in not time. As long as you are under warranty, or have a service plan with them, then take it to them, because it's probably free. But if you are like me and had no warranty when you got it, either do it yourself, or take it somewhere you trust. Dealership techs are about time and money. They would rather service 10 vehicles a day, then service 1 vehicle the right way. And 9/10 the customer wouldn't know what they cut corners on.

      I said the same thing when I first got it and solved the issue by installing a thule motion xt l. I don't take it off and store everything in there incl my golf clubs and shoes in the summer snowboards boots in the winter. Also I throw food I pick up to go up there or anything that would smell. A year later and people still tell me my cars interior still smells new. A cargo basket is alright but the cargo box hides / protects what you have from elements and curious minds

    • @bubbalo3388
      @bubbalo3388 Před 2 lety +1

      @@stackinpaper yeah I thought about a box, but I don't want to leave it on and also lose mpg and fight against the wind on the freeway and stuff. And if I only put it on for trips then I have to store it in the garage.
      Do you know how much it affected you mpg or handling characteristics?

    • @stackinpaper
      @stackinpaper Před 2 lety +2

      @@bubbalo3388 Actually its still getting good gas mileage. That particular box is aerodynamic. You don't really hear it at high speeds unless you open the sunroof shade. I'm truly getting 26-29 mpg (when I fill up my tank I divide miles driven by gallons put in). I driven it 100mph before on the freeway with the box and you don't really feel it. To me the crosstrek with a cargo box is worth it. Oh and also clearance is 6' 8" / 80 inches so I'm fine in the lowest of parking garages here in the bay area. Coworkers ended up buying one for their CUV's after going to lunch 5 deep and threw all our leftovers up there with my golf bag, shoes and pull cart. They can't believe how much stuff you can put in there. (picked up some friends at the OAK airport and brought the subie. when i called them they were like "you sure you have enough room for our bags?" I got there a placed 3 carryons and other bags up there and 2 full suitcases in the trunk. They were impressed too) I can't see having my crosstrek without it. Oh one other thing is that I park in my garage and I have no problems. Garage is 84" height

You can no longer place orders for the 2021 Crosstreks and now can only order 2022 which opened Nov 12 though they have yet to release images and new model. They only released pricing which can be found online. I was lucky enough to pick up a sport before it even arrived to the dealer. The moment it went up online is the moment I paid the deposit to hold it until it arrived at the end of November. So you have to be constantly searching.

      @@larg5096 i got a 2018 with a manual that had 27k on it. Have had no problems with it, aside from that terrible head unit. No mechanical issues. The only problem was the oil drain plug. The was a circle when i got it and didn't find out till i decided to change the oil. The head unit in the car is okay. It's 70/30 for me. Most of the time it works fine. Sometimes the volume knob doesn't work, and you have to turn the car completely off, lock the doors and wait about a minute for it to reset. When using android auto or apple car play, the unit will disconnect from the phone, which has to plugged in to work. And then sometimes it won't connect to the phone at all. If i had to narrow down the problems of the crosstrek. It would definitely be the head unit/radio. But that has nothing to do with drivability, so it's not a huge minus. Most of the time it works fine. A very important feature that they won't tell you about is the windshield wiper de-icer. It is very important to make sure that yours has that, if you live in a snowy or cold/freezing environment. To check you just have to lift the front wiper a little bit, and you should see some traces that run along the windshield under the wiper, like a hot plate. They look like the lines on the back window for the rear defroster. It cuts down your morning ready up time tremendously if you live in that kind of enviornment. You will not need an ice scraper, unless you are in a hurry. You will have a fully defrosted windshield before the car is even warmed up. Mine also has heated mirrors, so a huge plus to have not needed but very useful. It's a very sound car. I love it. But it is terribly slow. And that's okay, because it is what it is.

    I don’t like the eye sight, it pulls too much to the right specially when there is a semi or a big vehicle next to me and I feel like it causes my car to serve too long

    Wow you getting 20.9?!? That's terrible lol. I have a 21 Crosstrek Limited and I was averaging 29 mpg when I first got it. Now that it has 10k miles and the engine is broken in I'm averaging 33.2 mpg. Totally stock of course.

    Never make it a habit to warm up your car unless you just don't give a damn about longevity of your vehicle. Thats the slowest and least efficient way to warm up your car. You are allowing moister to sit as the car slowly warm ups causing wear and tear. Turn on the car and go.

    • @robob221
      @robob221 Před 2 lety

      @@ImaYam what's dumb is that you have no idea how a combustion engine ages....Friction. Oil doesn't lubricate properly until it's warm. You have moister from cold to hot which not something you want in a mechanical machine. The faster you warm up the car the least amount of wear will occur. Starting your car is open of the largest proponents for wear on a vehicle. This remote start feature is for princess.

      @@robob221 yeah thanks for elaborating on the dumb shit as if you weren’t clear earlier. The manual for all my vehicles always talks about optimal tuning condition and says to avoid everything you just said, but I’ll just listen to your theory. I heard you shouldn’t wash your hands bc the it removes the good oils from
