Most addicting game ever made. Every hunt is quite long and you’ll sit down and do like 15 in a row. Before you know it 7 hours have passed but it barely even feels like it’s been 20 minutes. The game is just so immersive and fun.
No other game has ever done that for me like world.

Once you play long enough, most hunts take roughly 5 minutes.

Yeah specially for greatsword damage multiplier. The only problem is because is hard to hit.
Hearing him making involuntary furious murloc noises while fighting Kushala is one of the most relateable things ive seen on his world journey so far especially with his first time really fighting Kushala
I was actually relieved to learn Kushala Daora's armor is useless because it meant I didn't have to farm him.
It's a horrific fight.
The irony of Kushala's armor being useless despite its main gimmick being a tank that grew wings.
As a DS main I had to collect his weapon cause we always want more elements if not using dragon or diabolos claws 😂
the alpha and beta, yes, the gamma, no. the gamma has 4 points of handcraft and focus, its really good.
AT Kushala armored is, unfortunately, not useless.

I hope Wilds brings back Community weapon/ armour design contests. It was amazing to see the winning design be implemented in both World and Iceborne
I hope they do more than just 1 weapon. The premise is sick though and the weapon is badass.

3 friends and i just started a new run. We all randomedized what weapon we will play. We are all having a blast playing the game with weapons we have never played before!
Go and do it. I got 3 of my friends to play it again and we are on a fucking mission.

No mantle, no juices and demondrugs, and optimize equipment. The patience. Hes doing it the hard way.
I've had 300 hours in the game and barely used any of this. Except a semi-optimized equipements.

@@mrswag2866 well trust me you're gonna have to use them if you want to get some of that end game stuff. It's not even that time consuming it's just drinking some demondrugs at the start of the quest and having some mantles ready and it makes hunting more comfortable

Nice to see other people get into monster hunter. Was the only 3D game as an adult that I've had a spark for. Every other game just falls flat. But monster hunter brings back that childhood joy I thought I had lost. The joy of gaming still exists in me and that was huge.

Lunastra was a bigger pain for me💀 and that damn oversized bird with the rock. He just kept growing and growing. Never struggled so much 😂.

Can’t wait till he gets to rangjang, devil jho, fatalis, nergigante, frozen velhana, alaetron, lunastra etc so many memorable fights, victories, and rage inducing moments. A true rollecoaster of a game, a masterpiece!
This is it boiz, we got him. So refreshing to watch someone learn this game and have a blast.
And using a fun to watch weapon, not using insect glaive like almost every other first timer streaming it -_-

At this point I want to see him fighting Savi, Ala and Fatalis. Savi and Kulve were pure magic - so cinematic.
Never fought ala and fata quq are they hard and have good loots

Kicking that Rathalos' butt without knowing how/knowing how but not wanting to to use Flash pods is amazing tbh. Mans improved so much

As a GS main, it brings me great joy to watch someone like Asmon go through his first monster hunter journey. The visceral satisfaction he expresses when landing clean TCS hits bring a tear to old veteran eyes.
Same, watching him grow into a pro GS main is giving me life. Seeing him enjoy playing makes me also enjoy the games in a way I don't with other games

man i am loving asmon's playthrough I love seeing him run the gauntlet to the top! Can'twait for him to get to master rank. There are some of my favorite fights in the whole franchise up there

I just started watching Asmongold regularly, I was watching bits of pieces before. He immediately become one of my fav. And I just started my first Monster Hunter experience a month ago and put more than 120 hour into MHW in a very tight schedule. MHW become one of all time fav games instantly.
In short, both these situations meld into a god-damn-delicious pot with these videos!! It has been so long for me to wait for a content creator to play a game like this and damn he delivers.!

Monster Hunter is my favorite game franchise ever, and now Asmon finally knows how amazing it is.
I often think back on going on a hunt in Elder's Recess (dont remember what I was hunting though) just remembering that I was thouroughly enjoying myself. Idk why really, its just one of those rare games that left a lasting impression. Great to see that Asmon is also enjoying MH.
I hope he sticks with it all the way to Alatreon and Fatalis. There's so much to enjoy from this masterpiece.
Man I've been absolutely hooked watching Asmon play Monster Hunter World haha. One of my favorite games of all time, and seeing him play especially when he lands the GS hits with great spacing too, it's just MMMM so great
he is so good without using all the tools. just imagine if he know how to use tackle to cancel damage and skip charge

Was never your biggest fan, but you managed to respark interest in a big way to one of my favorite games since i was 14. Was also fun watching someone who streams playing a gametype they've never delved into. Playing the learning curve, been enjoying this series of videos, good stuff.

I’ve been watching these videos ever since you’ve started this game. I woke up one morning with it playing on CZcams. And every once in awhile I hear a cat meowing in the background. My cats hear it too and their ears perk up.
I'd say the wind dragon was the hardest he's faced so far . Can't wait for more exciting fights this was a good stream
MHW was the only game in a decade (maybe except for Eldenring) that had me waking up in the morning, being excited like a child, trying to play the game again as soon as possible.
Same, it's a great feeling after being burnt out on video games. Last game that gave me that high was new vegas.
The thing with MR it's that harder fights are really punishing if you don't build for the fight. Bruteforcing through wind boss withoud full wind resist is very hard.
it makes sense we have to kill a monster to study it... after all I hear you can learn a lot from a live dissection(bonus points if you get the reference)
also Teostra has a female counterpart Lunastra(the difference between the two is that Teostra controls explosions and flames while Lunastra can only control flames... also Lunastra is blue and more violent than Teostra) which you can hunt in the "no remorse no surrender"(I think that's what it was called) questline which can be found under the "special assignments" category
the Lunastra questline ends with you fighting Lunastra and her mate at the same time(they will gang up on you if you don't bring friends to pull aggro) and the reward is the "temporal mantle"(basically it does some time fuckery to make it so you automatically dodge until it wears off)
It's actually insane how well he did vs Teostra on that first encounter. Teostra is normally a wall for most because of the blast blight and his nova and his enraged state with the fire cloak.

I genuinely love watching Asmongold play this. Where others, (me) would tilt at Paolumu despawning and loot getting denied, he literally just says: shit happens and shrugs it off to continue to enjoy the game.
Yes, because he's making money from playing the game, so who cares about fake loot when the real loot is still coming in! lol
The day I found this game, started playing it, and became addicted to it was probably the 3rd best day in my gaming life. The variety of weapons,armor fashion,monsters,difficulty,personalizing,cool quests and side stuff amongst about 42 other things is absolutely amazing. I am a Destiny main always have been and always will be but MHW is absolutely one of my favorite games ever and a nice break from the Destiny grind... I haven't played the new Nintendo switch one yet, maybe one day. I am stoked for you Asmon I remember the first days I played and had so much fun..I'm at just over 1k hours now and it's just as much fun now as it was when I started even more so now probably because I got all the goodies and weapons now..
If you’re talking about Rise, its not switch exclusive anymore. I’m still a diehard World fan tho

I didn't know how much I was going to like this. And then, stupid me, I passed up Iceborne for a while because I was tired of buying expansions. I didn't know that a Monster Hunter expansion is as good as a brand new game or better.

watching Asmon (or anybody really) suffers the elder dragons (and conquer them after some serious hardwork) just as I did is the best thing I've ever experienced.

A small suggestion: when you land a heavy blow on a monster, there's a chance it will enter a state of cowardice. This state might only last for a few seconds. During this time, if you use a claw attack to grasp the monster, the cowardice state will be prolonged. Here are three options for your next move: 1. You can climb onto the monster's head to make it turn and crash into a wall. 2. You can dismount from the monster and use this hardened state to continue your attack. 3. Alternatively, you can directly use the attack button. When you attack the monster, it will enter a damaged state, increasing the damage by 1.2 times with any attack, while also weakening the flesh of the current body part. This is a mandatory lesson in Monster Hunter World. Enjoy the progress in MHW!🤩

He did! But he was lucky to have enough def+resi+hp to tank the novas. Many players get one shot by those from full hp.
Teostra's supernova move is by far the biggest killer move it has.
If asmongold didn't have his health boosts he would've been one shot twice.
Other than that it's a pretty chill fight, specially in comparison with kushala.

Back then, it was almost instant and was very hard to anticipate when he was about to do it. Not only that, but even with def+res buffs, it would absolutely one tap hunters.
As a veteran MH player this is satisfying😂

That’s cool you got your phone back. It’s crazy how stressful it is when it’s not on your person. I hate when I forget mine at home and have to turn around and go back for it. I’m late for work a couple times a year because of it.
I remember when i first saw this game in college back in 2017 i thought it had to be one the best games made to date just on the soulslike way you fight the monsters but also the complexity and steps that actually went into hunting the target monster, not to mention the numerous weapon choices and beautiful enviroments shit was like an awakening
I hated it as a ds veteran at first, with every monster attack stunning me and no i-frames lol. The game defo grows on you, I was having a blast doing that late gane dragon boss rush.

Better and better i like it! During an expedition, you can put loot in a box in a tent, useful when your inventory is full, endless farming

The rocket powered greatsword was my childhood
i hope he does the lunastra questchain, the teostra + lunastra fight is super satisfying to master. it seems impossible at first but if you learn the mechanics it's actually quite doable. i'm glad i did it before starting iceborne because the better gear would have probably made it too easy.
the mating super nova is epic for sure.
You should use slinger shots, it will interrupt the dragons as they attack you to slow their pace down a bit.

Maybe next time when you go mining make a set that contains
Botanist - so you gather more herbs, mushrooms, fruit, nuts and insects
Geologist - so you gather more items at bone piles and mining outcrops
Entomologist (if you slotted the jewels) - so large bugs like Vespoids always leave a lootable corpse
Master Fisher - which makes it easier to catch large fish
Master Gatherer - speeds up your gathering animation
Forager’s Luck - makes rare gathering points more likely to spawn
Detector - marks rare gathering points on the map
Kushala, my fav elder dragon. It's theme always gives me chills since Freedom unite.
As a HH main the Kush hate has always felt overblown to me. His head is often easy to hit, you can use poison or skills (or HH songs) to cut out the wind, and even this iteration there’s a lot of attacks that leave big openings. Only thing that annoys me is when he likes to hover in flight in the middle of a tornado.
Love that you are enjoying MHW...such a great game. Coming from Dark Souls styles of combat, you are used to hopping back up after a knockdown...in this game, staying down after a knockdown hit can save your life. You're invulnerable after those knockdowns...I call it "dead sticking"...just stay down and let the follow-up attack happen for zero damage. Keep it up, you're doing very, very well!
This is honestly of the best playthroughs i've seen on youtube, peak entertainment.

congrats on the elder slay, daora gave a lot of hunters trouble in the beginning. the coat without wp2 its tough to deal with for melees.

Sadly this game will put some hair on your chest, but not on your head

The following tools are a thing:
Flash Bombs
Dung Bombs
Ancient Potions
Great Sword Ability to block, such as blocking hits as well as monster SCREAMS and projectiles
Great Sword Ability to triple charge, allowing for highest the damage inputs
Clutch Claw Launching (hitting the monster in the face with a pod when mounted on its face to sent it into a frenzied run, used to make them hit walls and knock themselves out)

Love that Asmon is a GS user. I used the Long Sword for the base game and loved it in Iceborne. Hope he uses other funs weapons like the Charge Blade and the Bowguns.
I played 2.5k hrs and it's still a god tier game.

For those who don't know:
Kushala Daora surrounds its body with Wind. Getting too close will stagger you, leaving you open for attacks. This plagues not only melee users, but this wind also deflects ranged attacks.
This "Wind Armor" only surrounds its "torso", middle section or how you would call it. Meaning hits to Head, Wings and tail are most reliable spots to damage it. However Kushala likes to move around, making landing hits challenging.
It's Metallic but Hollow outer layer protects it well, but is weak to blunt attacks, leaving it especially weak to stuns as well.
poison supresses its aura or used to I think they changed it to elderseal in this one.
@@CaecoAequitas1yeah, sadly in MHW poison doesn’t turn off his aura. It does do 2x damage to him if I remember correctly though, meaning one of the most reliable ways to tick him down is to chuck a few poison smoke bombs down so he’s constantly taking damage
Classic GS move until the end is fine but really need to push more on tackling them though. He almost iceborne.
Also he really need to explore all the environmental hazard that can be used in a hunt and not solely dependent on weapon for dps.
