I have worked that same job as a OR nurse for 27 years. I feel grateful. House paid for. 401 and Roth funded. I could retire TODAY. I can't imagine a better life - I work 3 days a week. I ride my dirtbike almost every weekend. The job paid for my lifestyle. LIFESTYLE LIFESTYLE LIFESTYLE. I don't give two shits about "achievement". I help people all the time. 57m
@@oambitiousone7100 Yes and no. Depends on your physical health, its a hard job, mentally hard and physically hard. If you are up for that YES. I will never be UN-employed its true, and you can do many different things within nursing, which is nice if you get bored with one specialty. You HAVE to like people and you must be a good communicator, but the rewards are many. I never really think about it, but the day is never dull, and you help people in need ALL DAY LONG.
The "Just send it" mentality is extremely important and only works if you take great pride in your work, but everyone who has ever gotten anywhere in life from scratch will tell you, action is much better than inaction when you've slaved at something out of frustration, interest, just put it out there. We have a nice society that usually gives you an opportunity to fix what it is aware exists, even if it's a problem. No society anywhere can help you fix what you never told it exists to begin with
She is so on point, prepared, meticulous, and what a great sense of humour.
Good pick Chris!
she's pomps wifey
The part about 'winning the rat race' hit me hard - it's so true that achieving conventional success doesn't necessarily equate to fulfillment or happiness. I absolutely agree that real success is deeply personal and can only be defined by each individual.
"Find and learn the rules, you can break them afterward" I would say this to colleagues in the Music Production field when the question of whether knowing/learning music theory is required and would get sideways glances. Its not a necessity, but knowing where the lines are is super important in understanding how truly creative you can be. Great Pod as always Chris.
The quality of the podcast and topic is always interesting and outstanding.
Great little moments over time are grand and create a grand relationship. Consistency is a life hack for nearly everything.
I'm learning/improving my english through your podcasts, so thanks a lot for everything 🙏
That mustache is heavy. Reminds me of the gangs of New York
Loving this episode! 💗 thanks for sharing your wisdom, Polina!!
Thanks for the good content! I was looking forward to this one
A guest with a good audio and video setup? LETS FUCKING GOOOO
Loved the podcast and content!
You have no idea how much I appreciate you Chris! Such an incredible podcast! Polina was amazing, I’m blown away.
love your content. thank you for providing so much great info on the workings of human minds, hearts, bodies, and souls
Really like the episode but I think the midnight hauler mustache stole the show. 😂
Another great one Chris. Thanks. Her view on the longevity of love reminds me of the book "The Road Less Traveled"
Paulina is so interesting. She always has great insights to offer.
take reversible decisions quickly best nugget i took away from this . as well as loads of other great advice thanks
Chris Bumstead and now AOC, wow
LOL
😂
They look nothing alike...
@@dissidentwolf5939she also doesn’t identify as “woman of color” lol
Your face blindness isn’t funny
Fabulous timestamps! ❤❤❤❤❤
Heading over to Audible to buy the book. Great interview, thanks.
Love your Pidcast
Good one Chris!🎉
Great conversation ❤
I think we might have reached the point of maximum 'self talk', I've thought this for a while.
I'm thinking that the best ROI for an individual probably comes from actions not thoughts. Striving and working hard to achieve something probably has greater merit than trying to think through the most perfect of plans.
Absolutely agree, and had to comment because I felt so strongly with this. Post-COVID, I jumped on the self-actualisation and reflection train, and I think the whole self help and mental training / analysis has just ramped up so much as the market now is wanting to hear it. It's easier to listen to podcasts and theorize 'I am enough' than to actually make the difference. That's why it's so saturated.
@@gardensbydaveforgeI agree. I'm following the 'actions not words' mantra and seeing very positive results. We all know what we should be doing (gym, nutrition, sleep etc) but it's much easier to listen to another self-help guru than actually put the effort in ourselves.
Refreshing!
Amazing podcast Chris - so many great tidbits here. I especially loved the Taylor Swift/Lady Gaga anecdote - I’ll be thinking about how to incorporate something similar into my own projects. Great job both Chris and Polina!
The segment where Polina talked about Content Auditing is very important, A while back I noticed a lot of the contents I was Consuming affected my perception of life and I immediately had to re-evaluate myself quickly. I felt like I was giving these figure heads control over my life, thereby turning myself into an NPC in my own Monomyth.
Marcus Aurelius - Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not a truth.... By dwelling on these words, I realized that questioning everything including my ideals, would lead to the clarity and Truism which I sought after.
+1 on content auditing. I don’t do this enough, but find it helpful whenever I hear an opinion to ask myself: “what is this person trying to sell me?” And some sales pitches should be avoided altogether to save mental energy.
these mustches were tipical for postman when i was a kid and both of you delivered message
Loving your podcasts, especially the one on relationship dynamics and sexual dynamics, very eye opening.
Chris and team: I really enjoyed this one - thanks!
1:09:00 I'm pretty sure that advice was originally from Dale Canegie's 1936 magnum opus: 'How to win friends and influence people'.
Felt Proud Bulgarian today because of this amazingly humble and smart woman 🤘🏼
So much ‘corn’ in this channel, thank you guys for doing this🦾🦄
That was a great podcast
Thank you, Chris for teaching me words that start with M - memetic and myopic :D
She’s insightful and a good conversationalist. A lot of good and underrated subjects discussed! I had fun.
Although Chris didn't find the value in her "chess analogy", it was one of the most valuable bits I received from the entire episode.
The key to creative endeavors is to never be done with anything.
That’s one key. There are many keys.
Link to her book?
Love her aesthetic
She is a cool person
Great show, great thoughts as always with this channel, very good talk, however i kinda dont agree with the example of the footballer :) Playing every weekend for 2 years doesnt make you a footballer also :) To me a footballer is a person who plays the sport professionally for money and not a hobby. I can give similar example with myself. I train and go to the gym for more than 10 years like 4-5 times per week. I dont consider myself a bodybuilder :) I have pretty good body for my age ofc , but i cant say i am a bodybuilder, just a regular gym goer, i have no stage goals and i am not year round on top of my nutrition either. I make sure i hit my high protein goals ,but half the year i dont even care about calories and just go by the mirror :) I think it goes for everything, if u play snooker with friends very often for years also does not make you a snooker player, it just makes u a person who likes to play snooker ;) I might be wrong..but thats the way i think about this.
Moustache game is strong
there is a difference between theory and personal experience. I wonder what her personal story is? I don't know. But i was interested in what building community pitfalls are? I know, its effective communication and taking personal responsiblity.
I'm sorry Chris but every time I see you with a moustache I'm feeling violated lol love from UK keep smashing it ❤️
wow I remember watching Polina on lunch money!!!!!
58:08 - "If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything." - Malcom X
Great discussion.
Also, never pause a movie 37:04.
Are there more ads than normal, lately? It really seems like the frequency of ads has increased

the mustache is back!
Very interesting hard pivot by mr and mrs Pompliano after selling people garbage called Blockfi
Not watched yet and I say it's informative. Thanks!
💖❤️💖🙏❤️💖❤️
Blockfi!! Rocket ship to the moon!!! Get on board!!
focus on effort not outcome is as secret saucy as it gets when it comes to becoming successful - whatever that means
I can't believe how many people in the comments ,are condescending and believe how superior they think they are to paulina.
There is no secret , they just got lucky
polina is outrageously intelligent but i was a little taken back when she told me to do the work
The best things seem to happen when you are under the gun.
As a non native English speaker I still can't understand why upward inflection is so common nowadays when speaking. But honestly it is somewhat annoying 😅
24:00 marriage is distinct from interpersonal relationships, it being a business contract.
Neither is a skill. Driving is a skill, look how many people drive.
Divorcing might be a skill. But being married is definitely a sieve, a selection process.
Volleyball is both a skill and a team skill. But it's not like marriage, because it's only for the one game, and games successfully terminate left and right. Beach volleyball divorce is a rarity, usually you'll have a great time.
You guys, your whole framework is rationalizing around on this point.
Why not look at the data first, and then you can guess at what kind of function/s would produce that, that's more reasonable, no? Something that people largely fuck up consistently for generations, that can't be an achievable goal, can't be a skill. Yo.
Thought this was going to be about sex islands
She, like, seems very personable, and like, intelligent overall, and like, I feel I would probably, like, really enjoy this podcast episode, but, like, this trend continues where, like, the word "like" is so overused, that like, I just can't listen to more than a couple of minutes. And like, I'm sure she's like, not even aware of it, and a really nice person so I feel bad even saying this, and like, it might have been this podcast where, like, it was discussed why these types of fillers are used, but like, why is it so prevalent now, like, all of a sudden? It's like, almost literally every three or four words now when people speak, like, you know? 😢
Yes, I clicked off in the first two minutes.
sometimes it feels "like" people use these fillers because they a) arent good communicators; b) dont know what they are talking about so they are discomfortable or c) are saying stuff they dont believe in, themselves... Anyways, just how I see it. I may be wong.
But agree, its annoying and trancends languages. Here in Portugal people cant say enough "tipo" which is the same as "like".
It’s poor form, they lose their audience immediately
@@skyfall7110 It's fascinating to know that this phenomenon is occurring between languages and cultures! I've witnessed people who are clearly quite intelligent, and who are otherwise very good communicators, fall into this pattern of overusing "like" in particular as a word filler. I personally wonder if we now exist in a time where people are so used to multitasking and listening to things so rapidly, and also having to compete so much harder for attention, that people are just uncomfortable with even a few seconds of silence, so they feel the need to fill those moments of brief silence as they join together their own thoughts and try to communicate them fluidly to others? I do feel that it can be very powerful to just pause for a moment to collect one's thoughts, and it does tend to convey confidence to others. I feel this is very much a learned behavior of which many are unaware they are even doing, so I wasn't trying to attack anyone personally, because today's episode guest does seem very intelligent and well-spoken otherwise. 😊💯
@@jimpayne9545 When you said "people are just uncomfortable with even a few seconds of silence". This, I think just hits the nail in the head! Especially given your point on even intelligent peopl having this issue. As to why that is.. might be overuse of social media or speaking to little with others irl... just speculation.
Also, as far as I am concerned, the oveuse of "like" in your comment was about making a point, not about mocking or wathever. Thats why I bothered to reply.
Good day to you sir!
Like & like & like….so like…..WTF is with all the “Likes”. Where do these people come from?
This Girl Doesn't Have One Wrinkle on Her Face....When She Gets One...Come Talk to Me....
If I had a dollar for every one of Chris' favorite quotes I'd have enough money to take a western woman on a date

What if I WANT TO FIGHT THEM?!?!?!
Anthony Pompliano's crypto advice lost people SO much money lol.
Shoulda stuck with bitcoin. Poor chap went down the shitcoin path and got rekt.
you probably bought shitcoins and not BTC
Reaching the top is something almost everyone can't say they've achieved.
If someone gets to the top and whines about their life GTFO here lol.
The Pompliano family still pumping FTX? 😂
I dont know, dudes. I think crypto and all these ICOs are just a bubble. Well, crypto is good for transfers and so on, but I dont engage in trading and staking either. Its too risky. My friend recently lost $5000 there. I invest crypto in real business
The only reason why I clicked on this video is your moustache, Chris.
I always admire people who write books and want to make themselves known. Respect to her for that. However, this episode was hard to get through. What was shared is a repeat of what I've heard from other people, plus she makes a lot of references. There's nothing original or new. The way she speaks also annoys me, and it's not only because she says "like" way too much. If she doesn't have one already, and she wants to be well known, she could be a podcaster and invite guests to share their ideas.
Sorry but Polina is so attractive its distracting.
Agreed!
She’s cute but if you think she is attractive enough to distract you - then you need to learn to control yourself .. if you don’t you will be easily manipulated by the first attractive woman you meet
It's funny, i read or listen to a lot of non fiction, and i had all the stories. It seems like a huge waste of time.
She, like, uses, like, a odd sentence, like, structure.
(This is intended as constructive criticism)
Too many "likes" to listen even though the rat quote is funny.
List the 10 habits here man I'm not going to watch her waffle for 90 minutes
Some of the habits might just be focus, concentration and humility… oh and not being a rude dick….
@paulklee5790 that was perfect 😂👌
Ehh I’ve watched enough of these videos to already know the basics of what makes people successful . Oh and luck plays a part too
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Gotta trim that stache. Can't even see your upper lip Chris
Bruh I’m Italian and in my dialect her name and surname sound like two different ways to say blo*job 😅
This is like a non playing student of a tennis player who studies their habitsd&drive and then like a plastic Oracle reveals observed ingredients. I'd prefer personally to hear it from the horses mouth. Easy talk.
She has addressed this straight away. But criticism is always the easiest part.
You think they’re gonna tell you ? Lol
Honestly this is just killing me… according to everyone of these things of what makes success… I should be a billionaire by now… but I can’t get anyone to respond to me… I’m offering $1m for and actor for 6 weeks work and actors agents won’t even take my call! Meanwhile to survive I’ve put out thousands of job applications and no responds!
Welcome to the jungle, please to meet you, what's puzzles you is the nature of my game.
Guess who I am.
Luck is a very important part of the puzzle. You can take a highly intelligent and motivated person but if he doesn’t live in the right area or he doesn’t have the right connections - he probably won’t be highly successful .
@@brianmeen2158 frustratingly true!
FTX scammers those Pomplianos.
I don’t mean to be a wet blanket but why is she interview worthy? She married a Bitcoin grifter…wtf has she done other than hit the lottery by being with a millionaire. At least interview the grifter.
Maybe it’s because I’m an old fart, and that I’ve heard this all before, but the delivery of her wisdom is decidedly, uncreative.
Chris Williamson looks like an alien.
Interesting how emotional intelligence and compassion are hinderances in success. Almost like sociopaths have an easier time climbing the corporate ladder.
Didn’t she get rekt by blockfi? Lmao
