I’m in Oregon and I will certainly travel to hear the fabulous artists and for sure I see shopping at Macy’sa new reason to support The Wanamaker
In almost no other organ is registration so vital. All those gobs of sound can either offer clarity to the music or can bury the score in continuo. Kudos to those organists who don't bury it. It isn't a church organ.
The Wanamaker is a wonderful instrument and a landmark organ. It's so lovely to hear it, now and then. Thanks to the Friends for making this pro-level recording and offering it up. :)
On my bucket list. What is irritating is that, as a kid, I was in Philly several times and never went and heard it. I would like to hear the one on the boardwalk, as well.
Gotta say that Lion King finale transcribes so well to Organ. My favorite piece out of the whole concert.
The profoundly wide spectrum of unique musical sounds this organ creates make it one of my favs!
