  • Germany is China's biggest European trade partner.
    But, Berlin also sees Beijing as a competitor and a rival.
    And - in its first-ever "strategy on China" launched last year - pledged to reduce German dependence on the Chinese market.
    But, during his visit last week to China, the German Chancellor signalled his intentions to maintain business ties.
    That may have angered some of Olaf Scholz's closest allies.
    The European Union has launched several investigations into exports of Chinese green technology to protect European industry from competition.

    China is not Germany's trade competitor, they are trading partners. The US on the other hand is both Germany and EU's trade competitor, where both the US and EU produce high tech products and when the US force EU not to sell China their goods, where putting the EU business in finical difficulties. Every once in a while, the US will pull out their section 301 BS on EU business similar to what the US is doing to China right now.

    Germany's economy would fail. How much more decoupling can it do after reducing trade with one of its largest export markets Russia. Now it's being pressured to do the same with one of the largest economies in the world. Forcing it to trade with just a few nations is bad economics.

    Russia cheap energy is gone for ever,do you expect Germany to leave China market for USA and France?

  • @WalkOverHotCoal
    @WalkOverHotCoal Před měsícem +4

    Regarding the trades issues between Germany and the EU, we are wondering what kind of impacts would have on the EU and especially Germany. I think the answer is already there in the Gas market.
    The US did all it could to turn Europe away from Russian gas supply which is cheaper and more readily available. With the EU and the US joined at the hip, the former did just that, by allowing the two pipelines blown up. Now Germany is almost fully dependent on the LPG from the US, and its industries are taking a hit as gas prices rose. So who is benefiting from this? The US.
    With that example, it is not hard to see that if the EU is to again follow the US to constrict Chinese goods, the one that is going to win is the US, and not Europe.

    • @user-ct7mw9yu6n
      @user-ct7mw9yu6n Před měsícem

      Actually the prices of gas and oil are now lower then before the war as Norway is now the biggest importaner plus you can't give money to someone who is destroying the largest country in Europe ( Ukraine 🇺🇦)

  • @wilg9400
    @wilg9400 Před měsícem +1

    The problem is that the price or money should not be the only measure to values. There so much more should be included but unfortunately not in the price. Sadly people buying staffs more on the price factor, not caring if any illegal activities are conducted during the production(for example, human right violations, pollution, intellectual property theft, etc. However, these price factors is playing different roles among different cultures or civilizations. By the end the price will somehow be payed dearly for various things. Like the saying ‚cheap is expensive‘
