    There is definitely a commercial market for small business owners for this item. Making a DIY kit you sell for commercial mowers with installation instructions would be great. I would pay $1000 alone for the parts and instructions (no mower included). Installing this on 32” commercial mower would be very nice.

  • @WV591
    @WV591 Před 4 lety +1

    you are right. there is no market for the price point cost labor and parts. after building 3 of these, i realized i could have paid my lawn person for the next 9 years and never having to do any work. fun hobby but a total loss. for those who are thinking about this, I do not recommend this . the controllers don't last and they cost 120+ every time and there's the expensive batteries.and the laawn mower itself and problems.the list goes on and on....

    • @TheWaterman1000
      @TheWaterman1000 Před 3 lety

      You have a point on cost. But where I live you constantly need to keep the grass and weeds down. Very difficult if you have physical issues. And not to mention getting them to show up.

    Question: I'm trying to build one, but I found the wheelchair motors have 4 wires to them - 2 for power, and 2 more for what seems to be a magnetic brake (defaults to brake being on), and this needs power to unlock the magnetic brake. How did you deal with that ? Did you provide power to this brake ro unlock it, and if so, how much power ? (i.e. 24v ?) Thanks, RickC

    • @rickc4336
      @rickc4336 Před 2 lety

      I got this response from another CZcams, and it worked for me - I removed them: Some motors do need a 24v source to disengage the brake (12v should be fine too). You can have it hooked up to the main power line, so whenever the mower is on, the brakes are disengaged. We just took the brakes off of our motors. It was fairly easy to remove them. Just unbolt the cover at the end of your motors and unbolt the brakes. Then, just reinstall the cover back on the motor.
