Canadian team a disgrace. Serves them right for losing. Unsportsmanlike like behaviour throughout. Arrogant pricks, thinking Denmark would be a walk in the park -and they let the Denmark players know it before the game began (Interviews -and among players before even hitting the ice). Way to go Denmark!!!! As a Canadian, I wish you all the best. You deserve and should be proud of your team!!!. I for one, am embarrassed of mine.

Yep, I knew this team was going nowhere when I saw their attitudes early in the tournament. This team has no heart and that giveaway from Barzal... embarrassing.
Agree with you mate. Funny part about most of these cocky Canadian players is that probably only Barzal and Chabot would crack their A lineup.
They will probablyget bounced in the qaurters and that'll be that.
That team last year though.... sunk right in QF, Upset russia and had no business going all the way to win gold but they did

This reminds me of one of the only games I've ever seen live, which was in 2003 when Denmark beat USA 5-2 in the world championships opening game. That was also in Finland (in Tampere in the old arena), and I still remember cheering furiously for every goal Denmark scored, and my friend trying to tone me down since we happened to be surrounded by American fans. 😃
Yeah this'll be a day to remember....and a reminder to play your full hockey reguardless of the country.

No excuses for us, we just haven’t been good enough this game, appart from a couple of individual performances like Comptois’. Maxime has been amazing all tournament long tho, scoring some beautiful goals like this outta nowhere faceoff goal jn this one. But altogether that wont cut it, our goaltending and defence will need to be better for the rest of the tournament if we want our offensive star to have a chance to shine
As much as I love Team Canada I do have to give respect to Denmark. They played hard here and won fair and square.

I think it is time to tell the truth once and for all. Yes, I am a troll. I've been doing this for 5 year long years. my motivation was to provoke, start unnecessary drama and get attention. It's the World Championships, anything can happen. The teams are a little more even than at the Olympics or World Juniors.

@@jericho3161 That's really no excuse. I'm Danish, and I can tell you that hockey is not even close to being a top sport in our country. Football (soccer), handball, rowing, swimming, gymnastics, badminton, biking, and even our mediocre basketball are all more popular, and we are a tiny country with only 6 million people. We also don't have the sub-zero winters like the rest of our Nordic neighbours, so you never see kids playing hockey anywhere outside. It's not in our culture. I guarantee there's MANY more hockey players in Quebec than in all of Denmark. Canada's 3rd, 4th, 5th, even 10th best hockey team should be better than the Danish by a landslide.

Somebody wrote the Canada team is essentially an AHL team, and this game supports that assertion. Inexperience and attitude displayed too clearly. Canada defence is weak, weak penalty kill, can't finish checks, gives up blueline, gives up 2 on 1, can't win the boards, can't shoot on net, etc, etc. A huge challenge for the coach to improve an entire team and play during a tournament. The raw talent is there, but not the skills for play to win. Gone after 1/4 finals. Sad for Canada fans.

Congrats to our danish brothers on your first win over Canada Norway Also has 1 win over Canada, but that was back in the day when Rob Blake used to play and one of our coaches Sjur Robert Nilsen was an active player so it was many years ago , but still beating Canada 🇨🇦 is special for any team and Canada has no excuse for loosing even they only have their in alfabetic order their F team this year ggs to Denmark you still need at least a point vs Slovakia 🇸🇰 it's going to be a tough game:).

The NHL team owners are to greedy to pause NHL to make each country's best players available so instead we get tournaments like this..a collection of just "whoever is available" labeled as a world championship tournament
The biggest progress in the 21st century in hockey is in Denmark. I think that they are already better than Germany and Slovakia, but so far worse than Switzerland.
It depends on the day, we beat the Swiss at the Olympics just some months ago but lost 6-0 in this tournament.

Honestly as a Dane I would have sold this victory for a win over Slovakia today - we still need at least a draw to go through to the quarter finals.
You can make it even if you lose. Only thing needed is for team Canada to lose against France and you cant lose by more than 3 goals (4:0 etc.) against Slovaks. You would need to beat Slovakia either way to deserve quarterfinals so good luck :).
