How I Made Over $5000 Off A Single YouTube Video (Without Being Monetized)

As you have probably noticed, my channel is not monetized at this point (there are no ads prior to this video). Still I was able to make over $5k off a single CZcams Video and am still making some money off of it today.
Now if your channel is monetized on CZcams, that means that for every 1000 views you get a certain amount of money (because of ads). This can range anywhere from $2 to over $30 per 1000 views. So if you have millions of subscribers watching your content, making $5k on a video is not that special. But if you are not monetized, you are going to have to make your money in a different way.
SO in order be able to do this you need to understand the basics of affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is promoting someone else's product / service. This can be done in 2 ways:
You get a discount code, for example Bob10, which gives the viewers of my channel 10% discount when they purchase the specific product/service. This allowed to company to see you came through me and I will probably receive 10-20% of whatever you spent as affiliate commission.
The second way to do this is by getting a personalized link. Very often you will see people put a bitly-link under their videos to disguise that it is an affiliate link. As soon as you click on a link like this, the users will be tracked and the company will know you came through my link.
I have only made 1 video which has an affiliate link, but that one did make me over $5k.
So what I did is create a video on how to make a WordPress site in 2018 which lead to a website I made about how to make a WordPress site (if you want to see the video check out: • Make Your WordPress Si... or if you want to check out the website check out: makeyourwpsite...).
Now obviously at this point i get 200-1000 views per video. That will never be enough to get any proper traction. Yet if you check out this video it has over 43.000 views, so how did I do this?
After creating the website and the video I started running some CZcams preroll ads. I only put my ad - which was the entire 30 minute video - in front of videos which explained how you can make a WordPress site.
So a lot of people actually figured they were watching the video they clicked on resulting in quite a long watchtime.
After running this ad for about a month (and getting some affiliate sales) I stopped running ads as I saw it was starting to get some organic reach. After all, CZcams not had enough data to see who was actually watching the videos, so they could start pushing it to the right audience.
Now the main issue I had is the fact that I only ever made 1 video on how to make websites. It would be much better to keep putting out content on this topic and becoming an authority (I know some guys who put out content 2x / week on creating WordPress websites and they are making a killing on affiliate commission).
So I did notice a drop in revenue as the video is getting out dated (WordPress looks different these days and it has 2018 in the title), but for me it was mainly a proof of concept.
SO if you are interested in building out an affiliate channel, make sure to keep posting content on the topic. If you have some budget try to run some ads to the channel or the videos or your website and that way you can start building out a little brand on CZcams creating some passive (remember, passive income is never truly passive) income.
