  • Have you ever been so frustrated that where you are is worse off than where you were when you started? And now you are questioning, "Where is God?" Join us as we dive into another week of G.R.I.T (Get Ready it's Tough)
Pastor Justin Hamilton goes through Exodus 17, Psalm 22, Matthew 27, and Isaiah 53 to show how not giving up and throwing in the towel can result in a breakthrough in our lives. He refers to God's instructions to Moses as He told Moses to strike the rock and water will gush out. In the same way that God provided water for the thirsty and tormented Israelites to drink from, God will provide us with the strength to carry on the mission that He has called us to do.
    Reflection Questions:
    1. What do I do when God is silent?
    2. Does my theology leave room for disappointment with God?
    3. Am I holding tightly to my testimony even when my present reality is daunting?

Hey! I’m hoping you all can help me - this was a powerful message, but there was one thing pastor said that I need some help understanding. When he asked the people who said “it is finished” and they replied “Jesus”, and then he said “Jesus? eh kind of” and he said Jesus had a ghost writer. What does that mean? I have never heard that before and I don’t understand. Thanks in advance for any help! 😊

Great question! So in music, artists will sometimes perform/record original songs that were actually written by someone else. That person is referred to as “the ghost writer”…Jesus famously said “my God my God why have you forsaken me” on the cross but King David actually made that statement hundreds of years earlier and penned it in Psalm 22. So David was technically the ghostwriter for the quote that Jesus made famous.

@@Iamjustinhamilton Thanks for your reply - God's timing is so good. Just yesterday I listened to a teaching by Voddie Baucham where he expounded on Psalm 22. He taught that for the Jews that were alive when Jesus spoke those words on the cross, 'My God, my God why have you forsaken me?'. it would make them think of what we know as Psalm 22 (they did not have numbered chapters and verses in scripture like we have now.) He taught that they identified each Psalm by its first line - so hearing Jesus's words would have made them remember Psalm 22, because what Jesus said was the first line. This psalm has many specific prophecies that were fulfilled when Jesus was crucified (like verses 8, 14, 15, 16 and 18). So this could help to convince them that Jesus is the Messiah! 🙌
