Fun fact about the film is 5 trucks in total were used for bill's truck and if you look closely in the movie the number badge on the truck changes from 2500 to 1500 several times, the truck was also a pre release model of the dodge ram. The yellow jeep was a jeep gladiator honcho and 4 of them were used in filming, each one was a different model year from the 80s and the production crew made them all look identical, each one had a number welded onto the front drivers side bumper to tell them apart, two were destroyed in filming, one was displayed at the wakita twister museum for a year after the film released and then driven to California to be sold to a private collector and the other sits in a car museum in Gatlinburg Tennessee.

The truck was actually a 1995 Dodge Ram 3500 V10. You can pause the movie on the truck in most shots of the “hero” truck that’s undamaged and see is the Ram 3500 V10. The 2500 and 1500 were used for the stunts. The 5.9 Magnum V8 was used for the movie sounds. Not all 3500’s were dually configuration.

Got me the movies that are just pure timeless. Like The Godfather, and part 2, terminator 2, Jurassic Park, The Dark Knight, The Lord of The Rings Trilogy, and to be honest in my opinion, twister is one of those moments that I just purely love. Twister is without doubt my favourite film. Seeing the locations was brilliant - I have often nosed about Google Maps (I live in the UK) at Wakita and other filming places. One of my favourite scenes is where the camera pans through the fan as Melissa is sat watching the weather and the curtains start to flap. The red Ram has always been my favourite truck since making a cameo in the film - it did wonders for sales too! I loved Aunt Meg’s house - shame it’s no longer there. Thanks for such a cool video.
Thank you for the video... This was the last movie I saw with my dad May 12, 1996 ... He passed away 05/15/96 ... I have the movie poster framed signed by HH and BP ... I have driven Rams since 1998 due to the movie... I still have my 2007 and now a big boy truck Ram 2019... I am such a fan... and hope to get up there by the 30th reunion... The farmer guy was a great treat to hear him talk about the filming...

Twister is one of a bunch of 90’s movies that I love. It’s also one of a handful that made me want to get into the career that I did in television and film, and I originally tried to get into visual effects too. Although that didn’t work out. A few more personal reasons why Twister struck a cord for me were that one, although I live in a major metro area of over 2 million people now, I grew up in central/northern Michigan in a very rural and flat area of mostly farmland. The Oklahoma setting reminds me a lot of it. And two and even more so, as a little kid in the 80’s and 90’s, my family was friends with another family who owned a hot air balloon, and we went to a lot of balloon festivals in the state with them. It has a surprisingly similar feel to this movie. You’re checking weather reports the day you fly, and then once the balloon is airborne, you have a crew of a few vehicles with radios, driving around country roads trying to figure out your path with (at the time) rural paper maps, all while trying to keep visual contact with your balloon. The balloon almost always landed in a farmer’s field somewhere, you’d go knock on their door and meet them, then invite them over to celebrate the successful flight with your crew with done champagne. I swear the basics of Twister reminded me SO much of doing that. I miss it a lot. Haven’t done it since the very late 90’s now, but it’s one if my fondest recurring memories. Twister also came out on my birthday in May, and when I went to the theater to see it that day, when I got up to the box office and said I wanted 1 for Twister, the employee told me “I can’t do that right now. We need you to over near that wall and sit down. There’s a tornado coming this way.” I said “Ha ha, very funny.” But the employee said “No, I’m serious.” and pointed to the wall, where I saw about 20 people taking cover! Thankfully the tornado didn’t hit the theater, but it sure gave me a story I’ll never forget.
I just ran across your channel. This series was awesome! The Dodge Ram from Twister has always been my dream vehicle. For the past 15 years I have as close to the truck as I'm going to get. She's a 97' Ram 1500 Club Cab Long Bed 2wd 5.2L in Emerald Green. I've seriously considered just having it repainted Flame Red, but it would have to be a full body off for it to look right. Maybe one of these days.

I loved doing that when I was 18, I installed a PA in my Jeep. If you can see, they are playing Van Halen through the CB Radio, which occasionally the older CB Radio models also had a PA mode that you could switch them to and hook up to an external speaker.
