    Teflon tape not allowed for gas in NYC as far as I can remember

    Only rated to 150psi? My city water supply is 145 to 160.

      Steven Collier natural gas lines are actually very low pressure.
      I have no idea what it actually is but say it’s 1/2 to 10 psi, the 150psi the pipe is rated for is for fire hazard, to keep the gas lines intact.

    That tube of z vent sealant on table is high temp rtv silicone for sealing fireplace vents not pipe

    Not a plumber. I'm am a DIY'er. Still I try to learn and apply building codes and best practice. It would be wise it you choose to show materials and items for a somewhat simple task that can have deadly end results if done wrong, show the proper products. I believe the "Blue Monster Tape" you are displaying is NOT for gas pipe lines that you speak of. (JF)

    You dont use tape and dope on the same connection.
