Good presentation, explanation, & professional grade video production.
Agreed
Such an important step. Thanks for sharing
i ❤ gas pipe and pipe dope 😎
Would be nice to see the sealant and tightening process.
Yea you're probably right. I wanted to keep the video simple but I'll probably do another one where I actually make the connections.
Good to know the fittings are malleable.
Thank you for the info, please post link for DIY woodworking and black iron pipe
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Teflon tape not allowed for gas in NYC as far as I can remember
Why the fuck not?
I can’t pAst 2 to 3.5 turns on the threads
Only rated to 150psi? My city water supply is 145 to 160.
Steven Collier natural gas lines are actually very low pressure.
I have no idea what it actually is but say it’s 1/2 to 10 psi, the 150psi the pipe is rated for is for fire hazard, to keep the gas lines intact.
@@rabbit929 I don't know why I was thinking about this being used for drinking water lol.
That tube of z vent sealant on table is high temp rtv silicone for sealing fireplace vents not pipe
can you bend regular black iron pipe: ie 90degree curve?
No
Not supposed to use Teflon tape with natural gas
Not a plumber. I'm am a DIY'er. Still I try to learn and apply building codes and best practice. It would be wise it you choose to show materials and items for a somewhat simple task that can have deadly end results if done wrong, show the proper products. I believe the "Blue Monster Tape" you are displaying is NOT for gas pipe lines that you speak of. (JF)
You dont use tape and dope on the same connection.
