- Ice patches and glaciers have preservation conditions which have lead to the discovery of incredibly preserved organic artifacts. In the Greater Yellowstone Area, some of these finds include atlatl foreshafts and shaft which are associated with the Oxbow Complex. In this video, I flintknap an Oxbow point in Glacier National Park and discuss ice patch archaeology.

We have the same types of preservation in waterlogged sites, here in Louisiana
Guess those ice patch places were never thawn ground before
