    • @von2137
      @von2137 Před rokem

      I made them myself. I was able to get the information from the Airlinks guys. 117mm front and 77mm passenger rear and 72mm driver rear. That end to end. That's the lengths of the links all put together. (2019 grand Cherokee)

    • @von2137
      @von2137 Před rokem

      After all materials and tools purchased to make them my self i realized it is worth just buying straight from the Airlinks guys. I only saved roughly $20 dollars making them myself. Also I wasn't a fan of the look in the rear so I just lowered the fronts and kept the rear stock.

      Sounds like the links would need to be dynamic where they lengthen and shorten on their own to go with the settings you pick. Not sure that’s even possible without crazy engineering. Or just use two sets for the drive mode you want and swap them out. More adjustability would be nice though, I agree!

      Lmao, often times when I talk I stumble on trying to find the right words. I like to explain things but I have a hard time explaining things. Damned if I do, damned if I don't? Haha. Ugh.
      I can't remember if I mentioned in the video, I did some research online and found Grainger was pretty much the only place that sold the sockets for this application. During that research I found the balls (giggity) on the jeep suspension are 8mm, and the ball sockets on Grainger are M5. Just cross referencing stuff at that point and the rest was all trial and error to find the correct length based on how I saw the Jeep sit after installing the links and firing it up.

    Hello. So, I have a 2012 Overland. After 3 days of non-use of my Jeep sitting on a slight inclined driveway, the rear of my jeep sits very low. I can barely put my fist in between the wheel well (if that's what you call it) and the tires on the rear. I have checked with watery soap to see if there are any leaks on the rear bags or elbow fittings of my air suspension, but I don't see anything. Do you think maybe the height sensor has anything to do with this low sitting?

  • @babylonsbully520

    I have a 16 overland and bought the links for a lift. I'm running 305 35 26 right now but am going to buy 33s for the 26s. They're like really low profile all terrain tread. They have a .5 inch difference in diameter. My question to u is there any way to make it not go into aero mode at all other then getting it to the height I want and taking the fuse out that runs the compressor?? I did that and it worked but I just don't want something to fail especially while running very little room for error... Thanks again man in advance for ur help and awesome video

    • @iambigsteveo
      @iambigsteveo  Před rokem

      Unfortunately I don't know if you an disable aero mode. If anything it would be a setting in the computer which handles the air ride. You may want to consider using a tool like AlfaOBD and see what options you have in there. Good luck!

  • @abazdarhon
    @abazdarhon Před 2 lety +1

    We advise next time when you cleaning such metal part just drop them to diesel and they come almost shiny. Do not grase this cups, they are made inside from plastic which work without grease. In the place where this links are placed all the crap from road is push to the links and adding grease make it like magnet for that crap and then it react on that caps like sand paper

    • @iambigsteveo
      @iambigsteveo  Před 2 lety +3

      I don't have any issues with the shocks or the compressor thankfully. I always drive in sport so it's in Aero mode all the time, so with that and the fact the rear is lower than normal, sometimes the shocks bottom out on speed bumps but it's fine the rest of the time otherwise. As for the compressor, I do sometimes see the message "Air suspension too hot, cooling down" or something along those lines, not sure what triggers that but it would toss that message up occasionally even before I put in the custom links. Go Red Sox!

      @iambigsteveo  Před rokem

      @@RandomRichZ that was a thought of mine, just replace the socket, but once you are in the meat and potatoes of where the sensors are, there’s not a lot of room. Also, you’d add another level of difficulty by leaving the sockets on ball and trying to remove the ball. It’s easier to just brace the sensor arm and pop the socket off. I saw this message come up a couple times but I found that there was no harm with my system. I never had any problems but others can't say the same thing. I have read lots of people had problems with general QuadraLift components and it's pricey to fix. Luckily I was not part of that statistic. I hope all is well with your system.

  • @prince24t

    • @iambigsteveo
      @iambigsteveo  Před 2 lety +2

      First off, I’d suggest starting from the beginning. Put your original links back in make sure the system is still functioning correctly and your Jeep levels out the way it should. If it works correctly with the original links, then you can point the issue to the custom links you have. Review the section of the video where I explain the lengths of the front and rear and how the lengths affect its height.
      Make the fronts longer will lower the front and make the rears shorter will lower the rear.
      Make the fronts shorter will raise the front and make the rears longer will raise the rear.
      The slightest adjustments to the link magnifies the outcome when they’re reinstalled so keep that in mind. Good luck.

    I’ve got the 2015 Overland with the HEMI and also installed that wicked CORSA on mine as well. I found a video a while back that covered the lowering links using parts found on Grainger. My question for you, is what size wheels and tires are you running? Your setup looks sharp! I’ve got the 20 x 9 stock Overland wheels with 265/ 50 20’s and I know that setup will not look good lowered. It just doesn’t fill out the wheel wells enough to give it that wide aggressive stance. I’d appreciate any advice you might have!

    • @iambigsteveo
      @iambigsteveo  Před 2 lety +4

      Corsa is sick, huh? I love it so much. Best sounding exhaust in my opinion. And thanks! It’s a nice setup. I’m not sure if they changed the wheel width from 2014 to 2015 but the 20” overland wheels are 8” wide so the tires traction patch is wider than the wheel, or it’s conclaves at the very least. The wheels I went with are OE Wheels and are replicas of the WK SRT. They are 20x9 with and offset of +34.75mm, so it’s got around an inch of additional poke which is 👌🏻, oem’s are +50something so they are sucked in towards the hub more. As for the tire, I’m running oem tire size, but the Nitto Terra Grappler G2’s have a great stance to them and help fill in the gaps better than other tires I have seen. I hope this helps!

      Hey James Bond, I sold the Jeep almost two years ago now, I did however have the lowering links in a long time prior to me making the video and up until when I traded it in. I had no issues with the air bags, really “dippy” bumps like bridge interchanges at highway speeds sometimes bottomed out the rear struts because it being in aero mode, but honestly, no issues came of that.

      I'm honestly not sure how long I made them. I had initially made length calculations prior to cutting, then I cut the rod with extra length incase I cut too much. Then I just took off little and there for the finishing touches.
