- A Neo English Civil War song by the folk group "Strawhead".
I think it's it's only fair I give credit to Devotion to Christ: / @devotiontochrist777 ,as I found this song on his channel and his translation of the song to text was very helpful. - Hudba
Strawhead were great live, saw them many times. Great beertent band.
Only 1600s kids remember this banger
SAW STRAWHEAD AT WHITBY FOLK WEEK ABOUT 1986, AMAZING !!!
My apologies for the re upload, but there were a few lyrics I had to fix.
What a powerful song, I can't stop listening to this.
THIS SHOULD BE THE SONG FOR REFORM UK !!!
Thank You. Best, Jamie.
I'm more of a heavy metal and classic rock guy, but somehow this thing slaps. By the way I just found your channel, good stuff!
Lyrics are brilliant
I don't know what the neo English civil war is but i love the united kingdom 🇨🇱❤️🇬🇧
Neo just means new. The song was made by the band "Strawhead".
@@patrioticarchive ok thanks
Why? It is now a dump
" Scourging deperacy poperous foeman "
catchy lyrics 😏
Nice job with the lyrics!
I love strawhead so much
Thank you.
Quick work!
Anything for you guys lol. Thank you again for the corrections.
Very nice.
I can’t remember who said it, but Cromwell was both the greatest of England’s sons, and the most damned of her traitors…wait…why do I suddenly feel a deep sense of deja vu?
Good work on the speedy lyric change!
I admire his zealousness, if nothing else ;) anything for you guys.
He was a horrid bastard who killed way too many people and banned Christmas.
He also defeated a tyrant king and stopped England from being absolutist papist state
Cromwell gave us freedom and the stupid people asked Charles 2 back. How dumb are they
@@helwrecht1637 Salty Irish detected.
Do you know what the name of the painting is at 0:50 ?
It's called "After the Battle of Naseby" twitter.com/historyofwarmag/status/1404407699601768450?lang=zh-Hant
Ideologically, I’m more with the Cavaliers, but the Roundheads are so damn cool.
So you prefer serfdom and corruption do you. The saying goes The Cavaliers were romantic but wrong, the round heads were repugnant but right. We should have remained a republic but stupidly asked Charles 2 back. That was a dire mistake
@@Anonymous-ib8soCharles II was asked back for a reason. I heard it said that the majority of people sided with the Roundheads till they actually got into power then everyone was begging for The Stuarts back. The Roundheads literally banned Christmas, that’s some White Witch level bullshit right there.
@@PeterPan54167 They invited him back because Cromwell was dead and his son was not interested or had the same ability of ruling a nation that Cromwell had. Cromwell's rule actually made England great.

@@PeterPan54167 How is it a cope?
The more I think about it, its clear that Cromwell was England's Napoleon, (France, as always, was behind the curve), even down to the way the Protectorate set up... a rising military general.
The reason why Cromwell rejected the Crown was the same as the main reason why the rump parliament offered it to him... because The powers of a King were known and limited, (In England, this is true, but not in France).
England had always had a limited Monarchy, where as France embraced despotism... England rejected it.
Ever since 927, England has at her core, been a Commonwealth... that is to say...
England was established for the purpose of protecting the common well-being of Englishmen, from that of foreign powers.
"A commonwealth is a traditional English term for a political community founded for the common good"...
Theis is what England is... not a republic, like that of early Rome... not a pure monarchy, like that of what became of France... but instead, Sir John Fortescue, says it best with... "dominium politicum et regale"...
as opposed to "dominium regale", which was what France was before 1789.
Roughly translated, it means "limited monarchy" or "a Royal Commonwealth"... which is what England is...
"a Monarchy founded for the common good of Englishmen"...
which as it happens, is by far better than being genocided by the Danes.
God Bless Æthelstan... King of all the English... Founder of a United Ængla-land... a Kingdom of and for, the English...
The KINGDOM of ENGLAND .927-
Though she may be but a subkingdom of the bigger U.K... she still exists, and one day her sovereignty well be restored.
Long live the KINGDOM of ENGLAND .927-, long live the King and God Save the English!
England died in 1066. what we have had since is Norman subjugation.
@@aidy6000 Which is why Cromwell is so great and why English people should cherish him because he was the only true Englishman since 1066 to have ever ruled England
St Edmund of East Anglia was the greatest king ever and until we allowed the Normans to boss us around was our patron saint. Your views on the history of this country are completely wrong in every respect
What a song!
So based
I'm definitely for the Cavaliers.
