  • Confident body language is something that can really transform your social life and the quality of your life in general. There are certain rules and guidelines that are not imposed by men, but by evolution itself, that can literally change how people perceive you in your day to day life.
Amy's Talk at TED: • Your body language may...
Confident body language or alpha body language is all about dressing as best as you can, opening yourself up and taking space so that you feel comfortable. Also doing slow and controlled motions, non verbally telling people that you have everything under control.
About 90% of the communication is made through non verbal elements and only a small portion of the communication is made verbally, so focusing on the words to improve your appearance as a confident person is the wrong way to do it. Instead focus your energy on your body language and tonality so you can see a real change in your life.

    Conclusion:
Confident body language is all about opening yourself up, doing slow and controlled motions, speaking with calm and confident voice, having a straight posture with your shoulders back and your chest up, not being afraid to take up space, and looking and feeling comfortable, a rule of thumb is if you feel comfortable you look comfortable. Give yourself 10-15 minutes in front of the mirror after this video, correct some of the things you think need to fixed with your posture, walking or talking. Practice some of the power poses, because those 15 minutes may change how people perceive you. You can literally become more confident, attractive and successful in your social life and in your life in general if you apply these concepts.

You have done what most people incorrectly do when it comes to Mehrabian's communication theory surrounding body language and the spoken word. You have neglected to include that his research into communication pertained to feelings and attitudes, not communication in general. That would be too simplistic. Mehrabian's research provided the basis for the widely quoted and often much over-simplified statistic for the effectiveness of spoken communications.
Here is a more precise (and necessarily detailed) representation of Mehrabian's findings than is typically cited or applied:
    • 7% of message pertaining to feelings and attitudes is in the words that are spoken.
    • 38% of message pertaining to feelings and attitudes is paralinguistic (the way that the words are said).
    • 55% of message pertaining to feelings and attitudes is in facial expression.
