      I'm very happy with how it went. It was the right decision not to rush and do it at the end ofva day.

    Looks great, top job. If your working with a simple straight colour, from one tin you can get away with painting it on different days. Especially if your on a time crunch. Instead of painting door shuts, backs of doors, hanging them and masking it all. I’d just have painted the entire car without the doors on it. Then the next day hang the doors up in the same orientation, I.e, not laid flat as it affects the peal, and painted the inside and outsides of the doors in one hit. 2 days painting instead of 3-4. And less masking. Truth be told when I’m painting an escort il paint the car, shuts and the inner/outer doors (hung up) all at the one time… tight for space but much more efficient for time. But I mean… it still works the way you done it!

      @Squintanditsmint  Před 10 měsíci

      Time and space is definitely an issue. You are right about having things in car line. It would be no good painting doors off or flat.
      I did the whole inside, shuts and engine bay in one hit, yhen exterior in another. Next I have to do the boot bonnet and body kit. All from the same tin of paint.
      Thanks and stay tuned for the rest.

    Blimey Gav i thought you were in the Uk then looking out at that rain lol nearly there mate its not far away from looking like a brand new car again ….you need to be able to get at it so that was a great move having a good old tidy up …good job mate .

      Cheers, very pleased with it.
      I didn't think of the space but yes it's gonna be very useful.
      Still dome parts to paint too.

    Yup."Flash rust" doesn't mean days or hours to flash. Some people just don't get it. It means minutes in high humidity like you or I have.
    More than a few times I've had to stop spraying when the humidity was well over 90%. No, I never had a fancy booth. :(
    Mind you.. you have the heat and humidity. I don't have quite the same amount of heat. ;)
    Fan-freakin'-tastic! Paint!
    Looks great.
    That's it.. tell them there is a run and drive them nuts trying to find it. ;)
    This may seem strange but I can't watch real-time painting.
    After the years of painting I did I feel the weight of the gun and the strain on my back with every stroke a painter makes.
    I can, strangely... watch time lapse without the ghost-feelings.
    Yes, yes. I know. Weird. ;)
    OOoo a teaser about the wheels. Just like all the BIG channels do. ;)
    Still a daunting task ahead but it seems you have some able hands to help.
    Cheers. Carry on!

      Absolutely, that day it rained could see it forming. Humidity also makes us sweat which means when we touch an area of bare metal when masking for example it just goes.
      Paint worked out better than expected, I think real time pair videos are fairly redundant.
      No idea why LEDs don't film.
      Cheers

    • @Joe.Doucette
      @Joe.Doucette Před 10 měsíci +1

      Typical LEDs flash on and off twice per every Hz of electric current cycle (50Hz or 60Hz depending on wher you are in the world). So they flicker 100 to 120 times per second.
      Your camera should/might be adjustable for frame rate and shutter speed. You can try to adjust them to the flicker rate of the LEDS. That much I understand. Setting the camera to adjust for that is something I don't deal with. I'm sure you can figure that out though. ;)

      One by one. People like shiny stuff so having car painted may help.
