    My biggest pet peeve on these new trucks is that you pay an ungodly number for a truck and the factory doesn’t even bother putting in a bed liner. Same with my new ranger I bought a couple months ago. I had to go get my own bed liner put in.

    • @joshualake4882
      @joshualake4882 Před rokem +1

      That's ok with me. I prefer a linex bedliner over factory spray in. Lifetime warranty as long as you keep the vehicle. My 19 came with a drop in bedliner which I eventually took out

    Good comparison. I remember when the FX4 was a trim level. The Tremor occupies that level now.
    You can order a Lariat with the FX4 package and the 3.73 gear ratio rear end.
    It wouldn't take much to convert the suspension of an FX4 package to the Tremor suspension.

  • @ross7684
    @ross7684 Před 2 lety +9

    Good review. I opted for the Lariat FX4 since 95% of use will be on-road with off-road mostly in fall during hunting season and that not being overly aggressive off-road use. I wanted the 4-auto four wheel drive option for winter driving in MN and the Lariat at 500 and 501 levels will be pretty equal to the Tremor in price, load and towing. It is pretty amazing the number of ways an F-150 can be configured.
    Just for fun, I went to the Ford website and built both vehicles, selecting the same packages/options for each. The Tremor Mid-level cost $2000 more than the equivalent XLT 302A FX4, so that is the real comparison. I'm sure the $2000 covers the suspension upgrade and the better front differential found on the Tremor. The Tremor High-level would compare feature-wise to the Lariat 502A and you would find a similar price differential. Bottom line for me is, if I intended to do a lot of off-roading, I agree the Tremor would be worth the extra $2000. If, however, I'm only occasionally go off-road and then not on any off-road challenging trails, the FX4 is the best package and is more cost effective.

    Hey Ben, great video! One interesting thing to point out, the FX4 does not have auto-start/stop. I have ordered an XLT and was recently contacted by Ford and offered faster delivery if I opted to have the auto-start/stop removed. I was like heck yes! I was very curious if they were going to keep the auto-start/stop button, blank it out, or what the heck they would do. I'm happy to see that the button has been blanked out (and just not functional or worse, glowing amber all the time). It looks like your FX4 was produced during this time. Thanks for sharing. One suggestion, there are not very many reviews regarding the lighting in the evening the differences between the 3 headlights and the standard/LED taillights.

  • @wwz1011
    @wwz1011 Před měsícem

    It has changed in 2024. If you want Lariat type package, the Tremor is almost $75,000. Meanwhile, dealers are discounting FX4 Lariats, and you can get powerboost and 7.2K pro power on board. Just picked one up, the Tremor was going to be $13,000 more. One problem is most dealers don't even carry Tremors, so there aren't many out there. Meanwhile, dealers have many FX4 Lariats sitting on their lots, and they are dealing. The dealer I bought from had ten FX4 Lariats and zero Tremors.

    I would consider the Tremor, but the only configuration you can get is the supercrew with shortbed and V6. This is everything I would not choose. I need a longbed and prefer a supercab and V8 engine. It's unfortunate that Ford only offers the Tremor in that one configuration. Also, putting the tailpipes in the rear was a mistake. They're just gonna get scraped.

    Great comparison and review. I agree the Tremor is a far better value. I just seen a Lariat Fx4 loaded on a lot and it was $71K, pretty much the same as a tremor. the Lariat had highway tires and smaller wheels/tires than the Tremor for the same cost as a loaded Tremor. The Dealer's response was the Lariat will ride 10x's nicer and still off-road capable. I do not agree with that, and the Tremor overall looks unique and doubt it will ride that much different.

    One difference I've been trying to understand better is the safety - the NHSTA appears to give the Tremor a rollover risk that's 68% higher than the rollover risk of the FX4, presumably because the Tremor has a higher center of gravity with the same width. Do people see any validity to that? I've got a family with young kids so the rollover risk and lower safety rating are quite important to me.

      There is also more price difference than he covered in the video for some reason. Just because the two trucks he pulled out were similar in price, doesn't mean that a like-for-like on every option would be. He said a few things that just weren't relevant, and skipped A LOT that would actually be informative. Like the 3.73 rear on the Tremor isn't a Tremor thing, my FX4 has a 3.73 rear. Also the Tremor has three trim levels, 400a (STX equivalent) 401a (302a XLT equivalent, what we saw in this video) and 402a (Lariat 502a equivalent). So stuff like comparing the headlights and that is meaningless without mentioning you can have a Tremor with the outstanding adaptive headlights like a 502a Lariat instead of the static reflector LED headlights shown.
