  • My favorite guitar is my South Korean-made PRS SE Custom 24. This video goes over ten reasons why it's my favorite guitar, and features mediocre playing and a reference to an extremely bad sci-fi movie.

That slightly dirty funk tone at the beginning of the video is absolutely stellar. I love it. I'd say my three favorite brands of guitar are PRS, Fender and Yamaha. Under the umbrella of Fender I would include Squier, and I just bought my second Squier in almost forty years the other week. I'll be popping a Duncan Custom 5 into it this week. I'm a big advocate of bargain guitars. Oftentimes they are superior to guitars that cost many times the price. I always tweak guitars anyhow, so it just makes sense to get a good bargain ax. I always change the pickups, often the bridge pickup, to some Seymour Duncan or other.

Love my 2022 PRS 24-08 SE standard. I think it's the same or similar color; translucent blue. PRS was never on my radar, but it kept coming in my CZcams feeds. Was at a Guitar center a few months back trying something else, which didn't work out. While I was there, I said "what the heck" let's try this PRS 24 Se. I instantly feel in love with the feel of it. Ending up buying my 24-08 used (really brand new) from reverb for an amazing price.
I was always a Gibson 24.75" scale length guy and this 25" felt completely natural to me. The playability just feels amazing...haven't changed the PUPs...and not sure I will. Honestly, I didn't feel my neck was noticeably thin at all. I have a Strat and can't stand the scale length or neck feel at all as much as I try.
    Great channel BTW. Subscribed

As good as my South Korean-made SE is, I do think the SE guitars of today are even better!

I have the 24-80 Standard edition of this in the same color. Neck isn’t all that thin, but I find it quite comfortable for my medium glove hands. Stock TCI pickups were not terrible, but I put in a pair of Vaughn Skow. Sonically this ax can now hang with pretty much anything out there. Everything else you said is spot on.
