Todays bikes are so cheap that no one actually spends time and money repairing an old bike, but luckily for some, the bike still has emotional value.
I repaired and painted this bike for a friend to whom my father once made the bike.
If you count the paints and a couple of parts, it took about 65e for the supplies and not much value is put into your own work;)
That aluminum parts cleaning is really hard if you don’t want to use the time. Actually, it should be sanded with 6x sandpaper and cleaned after, but I now only had 240 and 800 sandpaper and a finishing touch on the steel brush attached to the drill (it is better to use a more powerful machine for a smoother result) There is really no shortcut with aluminum.
it came out good, and clean :)
