As a Southerner his voice is not only beautiful, but has the sound of a southern gospel singer. I was crying listening to it. As a High Schooler it makes me sad that so many in my generation have forgotten so much of our history and no longer have pride in our nation, but I will always be proud to be an American and will always stand as a remembrance to those who have me my freedom. I think you're dead wrong, and as a person who absolutely cry's every time I hear the Star-Spangled Banner....having pride in your nation doesn't mean to not protest it, promote dissent and keep yourself educated. Oh my... "woke" what a word. I'm a patriot because I protest and strive to make us a "more perfect union". As one our nations greatest Senators once said even during WWII. “To criticize one's country is to do it a service... Just a man and his guitar moved us to tears. Best Anthem ever. Chris made us proud to be Americans.
I had heard of Chris but wasn't familiar with his music when he blew my mind with this rendition (now my favorite ever). What I really love is he lets the song be the star, he's not over- reaching or trying to show off his vocal range. This one was sung straight from the heart and I cried like a baby. Please please let us as a country remember love is better than hate.
The person with tears running down his face was the Eagles coach.
As a Marine I can't help but get emotional. I fight for no administration. I fight for what that flag and this country for what it's supposed to symbolize.

All I could think about is the words of Francis Scott Key and the battle of Fort McHenry in Baltimore. Chris brings to life the feelings of that night.
The story behind our National Anthem, what the words mean always bring tears to our eyes. Over the years too many entertainers have butchered it, but when sung properly by someone who respects the words it is very emotional.
I have to admit I've listened to this several times & tear up every time.

I love my country and I’m proud to be an American but I know I take my country for granted a lot. I get so dejected by the political divide in our country and I get angry at my country sometimes. When I saw Chris perform this Anthem I just cried. It’s a soulful performance and it gets me every time. When I saw the all women flyover I got goosebumps. These ladies are defending my country so I can have the freedoms I have. Thank you for reacting to this. It’s a reminder I need to appreciate what I have and love about my country.

This game was the first time in a long time that we as Americans saw normalcy. nobody acting up everybody being patriotic and I’m glad to see it

He is just as important and did a great job.
Yes, they were on a Naval ship. The colored uniforms represent the job duties they do while on the deck of the ship.
The all woman flyover was marking 50 years of women flying in the US Navy.
I ,too, wanted to see the sign interpretation fully. I finally found it somewhere on CZcams. A lot of deaf people were as enthused about Troy's signing as hearing fans were about Chris's version of the anthem.
As far as Star Spangled banner, two years ago, the person doing the ASL (sign language) of the song was so good, people were praising him more than the singers. His enthusiasm and grace made it seem like a dance. You should watch it. 🙂

It's the USS Carl Vinson a Nimitz-class Air Craft Carrier. The guys in different colored gear work on deck doing different jobs. Their colors are easier for the pilots to see, and designate what they do.
It is so laid back and easy for him, and so profound for us.

The person doing sign language, Tony Kotsur, won the Academy Award (OSCAR) for Best Supporting Actor in 2022. He's the first deaf man to do so.

Need to listen to Patty Loveless joined Chris Stapleton on stage at the 2022 56th Annual CMA Awards to perform 'You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive'.
Patty had retired from singing and Chris called her to re-record her song Harlan to raise money for those people who lost everything in tornadoes … she still has her voice and matched with his …it was awesome

Hey, my cousin Chris! LOL! Well, we do share the same last name, and he DOES look like every man in our family…my niece claims him anyway. 😂 He has a song called Arkansas. My stompin’ grounds! It has a fantastic beat, and is true to our state. Check is out when you have a chance. My second favorite of his is You Are My Sunshine. So sweet.

Yes it was an air craft carrier. The USS Carl Vinson and this year's flyover was piloted by all women pilots. This version was so beautiful. Simple & about the song, rather than all about the singer being flashy & 'making it their own'. It is not the song for that nonsense.
You should check out Brad Paisley’s version of the national anthem! He played it at the World Series in 2017 and 2018, and he also did it at the Stanley Cup when it was in Nashville! Brad is an awesome guitar player, you have to check him out!

I like Chris’s music but I think his recent music sounds more Blues than Country. Yes there is overlap but his is waaaayyyy Blues leaning IMO. I think he’s only put into the Country genre because he used to be in Bluegrass bands and some music execs think he’s easier to market as country. Then again A lot of modern country sounds more like Rock orTop 40. Rascal Flatts and Florida Georgia Line are good but take out the twang and they could be boy bands.

While you think yelling the Chiefs at the end of the National Anthem was great, I think it is totally disrespectful to all of our BRAVE Soldiers who died for the US. We have an amateur hockey team in our city called the Chiefs, who do the same thing. I hate it!!! But great reaction to an awesome performance by Chris.

As a prideful American and Patriot, I see this video and still shows what America really stands for. To be truly free is godly and America will get back to what we were. All this divisiveness, different anthems and socialist ideologies have to end. The world now more than ever needs a strong and healthy America.
