    I just installed this in my 2018 Tundra. I watched the video a few times and then used the video as I installed the box. I didn’t use the printed instructions. It took me about 2.5 hours start to finish. I’m very impressed with the fit and finish of this product. I also paid a lot less than the Amazon price by purchasing direct from the vendor. I would strongly recommend this product to all my friends. Great product!!!

      How secure is the box? Its aluminum not steel right? That single cam lock scares me. I know this is for the smash and grab guy but nothing holds the corners. A screw driver or clawhammer and bend goes the top. Again i havent seen the product so im just speculating. What say see now that you have it.

    I just installed this on a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro. After watching this video, I didn't even need to consult the instruction sheets. I didn't need to remove the seatbelt panels because the carpet slid out from underneath, and back in, rather easily. But I did have to remove the subwoofer, which was very easy. Careful with the push-start antenna wiring. On the 2021's the wiring runs along the forward cut line, from the center all the way to the far right edge. I did the installation myself, took my time, and got it done in about 2.5 hours.

      Just bought this for my 21 Trd Pro, did you move the wiring harness or the box sits on top of it, did you put any insulation between the box and wiring harness? Can you still access the jack and wrenches? Sorry for a bunch of questions.

    • @jroof04
      @jroof04 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@saintslax12 honestly no! A few things I did was I had all weather rear mats and I believe the manufacturer was gator. I took the provided template and outlined over the floor mats that run the entire or majority length under the rear seat. Then cut the carpet and foam also. The box/kit comes with heavy duty seat brackets that are stronger than the stock. Torqued those down. Sat the gun box in and bolted it leaving my all weather floor mat to run underneath the lip of the gun box. If I needed to vacuum under the mat I would flip the front side towards the front of the cab up. I honestly didn’t notice a bit of difference in the cab being noisier at all! It’s a snug fit but it looked legit and functioned perfectly. Keep the carpet you cut and throw that layer inside the box also. Atleast that’s what I did.

    I just installed mine in my 2020 Crewmax. The only thing that is not in this video but is mentioned in the instructions is the box for the key fob remote. When you first see it, don't panic. With the new mounting brackets, the box will sit right over the remote box. I installed mine with a moisture barrier underneath because I saw that was one possible problem with a steel box was drawing moisture and cut the carpet I cut out to line the bottom of the box. It took about 3 hours total by myself. Keep going and stay calm. Good luck

      it bolted down by 2 bolts inside into the inner seat rails, but there's 4 large horseshoe shaped slots that lock onto all 4 seat rails. in order to get the box up they would have to rip both the small bolts, as well as all 4 front seat mounting bolts, and rip the sheet metal on all 4 collars on the box apart. the box is never coming out with the seats in. i am installing one as i type this, and it's way more solidly placed than it looks.

    • @esptruckaccessories
      @esptruckaccessories  Před 4 lety

      Yes, the torque settings for the seat bolts are in the instructions. However, in my experience installing these, Toyota is not very good at torquing the bolts. some have been so tight I had to use an impact to get the bolts loose and some just used a regular socket and ratchet.

      Semper Fi Devil Dog. I see your question is 3 months old but I just installed this in my 2019 Tundra TRD Pro and no problems. So, if a Naval Aviator can do it, I'm sure it'll be no problem for a Marine. One tip regarding the last two screws that secure the box to the decking. Those screws are going into the seat rails you replaced earlier. Those seat rails have play in them during install so if your holes don't line up at the end, don't freak out or go drilling out the box holes. You can reach under the carpet to loosen the front bolt and align the holes. Harder to explain that it is to actually do.
